If i’m right, you propose an harness adapter in order to plug&play? From where would you reco to source the 4.0 PCM? Any idea about source&cost ? Thx un advance…

Fitted my Joyeauto last week to my 981 CGTS using this video and auto amateurs video. Just as a recommendation, I plugged the power fuse into the fuse box in the passenger footwell (the one with the ODB socket). I plugged it into rear wiper fuse socket which is a switched 12V Live, (as it was empty as i do not have a rear wiper). The cable is easy to tuck under the glove box where the cabin filter access is. I used some 3M 'Dual Lock' velcro to stick/attach the joyeauto box to the side of the transmission tunnel in the passenger foot well. In your video at 9:40 you can see the section of red transmission tunnel I used on the right hand side, that way the unit is not touching any other cables and less likely to pick up signal noise. The excess adapter cable length can then just be tucked below the unit out the way and the carpet re-fits fine. In your install you have strapped it directly to the main loom and it's also touching the main power cables going into the ECU, which may not be the best idea with regards to signal noise/feedback etc Thanks again for your video as it was the one that finally made me go ahead with purchase and install. It has made my car even more enjoyable to drive 😊 Oh and I have now subscribed 😊

Thank you so much for your comment. I was receiving intermittent signal noise I've since moved the box slightly so it's not directly strapped to the power cables and I think it's fixed. I'll try your location too as I have been meddling with it again while fitting my cameras!
Honestly really appreciate the feedback and support. Thank you!
      Next video coming soon 🙂

Your video seems to show it show coming apart. The Isudar video (which is the kit I bought) had them slide off which seems more like what mine would want. Good video, although having seen video ‘how to’s’ on both the products you mention, I went for the more expensive NM Auto product im my 991.1 GTS as this (in my opinion) has a few advantages over the Joyauto product in that: a) there is no requirement to run wires to the fuse box or utilise a dummy auxiliary plug. There are also included within their kit, new, upgraded ribbon cables to overcome a known screen error which often had been reported as occurring when utilising the OEM cables. Personal choice, and it is pricier, however as they’re based in Guernsey and their instructional fitting documentation is VERY comprehensive (55 pages!) I thought it worth the extra. Nick Marquis is Mr NM.Automotive and proved extremely helpful.

I did something like that to my 3.1 PCM. It works so far pretty good, but what would life be without wifey... Since the module is highjacking the default Navi flat cable, there is no standard Porsche Navi anymore and only the way to have navigation via Maps and a connected phone. Since I've owned my 981, I've wanted to upgrade the infotainment, perhaps write my own os and apps for it and add circuits that allow me to monitor and control everything in the car over an android app via bluetooth.. Hi, with Joyeauto you install the microphone for using Siri, Google assistant or for making calls in carplay. You can avoid installing the new mic altogether and simply use the pcm for making calls as you did previously it still works as it did before. Thank you for your swift response. In normal circumstances interference can come from the ground loop or location of the box ( if touching the body work or other cabling etc ). Grounds are very important. So be interesting if you find a solution. Thank you for covering 👍

Thanks, it could be linked to the box location I hadn't thought of that as it is very close to the power distribution. From my tests so far when connected to always HOT fuse it does not whine at all and the volume differs depending on which slot is chosen. The PCM fuse is always hot and located on the right side of the vehicle hence why I'm keen to try the TV tuner slot. Any suggestions?

@@TDS981 Alternator whine might come from several sources and all have to be eliminated one by one to ensure you have isolated the problem. Poor RCA connections, Antenna cable, Poor Grounding, Power cables and Ground loop issues in general, ie The actual box touching the body work or other cables etc. You can mask the problem a little with Ground Loop isolators or / and Ferrite Coil but these just mask rather than solve the actual problem.
