@amarjit singh Plenty of times, why do you turn up in EVERY damn comment section that has anything connected to Koenigsegg when you obviously don't give a shit about the brand ? What exactly do you expect private owners to do ? Let journalists take their 2 million dollar car to the ring to drive the crap out of it ? Would YOU do that because i sure as hell wouldn't. Pagani has the Zonda R that is a pure racecar on slicks that worked as a rolling testbed for them internally, some journalists drove that (not at the ring, just one racecar driver did that). Koenigsegg had the CCGT made in just one example and a swedish car mag tested that on track, that car is no longer at the factory but instead resides at one of the investors in norway. I find it amazing how one of the smallest car manufacturers in the world somehow should have the same resources as Mclaren, Ferrari and provide cars for nürburgring when niether Mclaren nor Ferrari has provided the same with their P1 and Laferrari. Not sure what people like you are smoking amarjit but you should put some reality in that pipe and light it up. All you have to do is search for the brand here and you will find plenty of non owners driving them, you won't find a timed test made independantly but you WILL find a comparison made in germany between an Agera R and a Porsche 918 that the Agera actually wins.
He's great. That's what Britain still does best (although increasingly rarely).... reserved understatement to the extent of being totally unflappable in any and all conditions.
Can anybody comment factually on why the stick is so tall? I used to think the old Lambos had really long shifters, but this thing has them all beat. Is it for more leverage on a stiff gearbox, or maybe so the hand is closer to the wheel?
Why does Martin always have to mention his driving past in every car review. Yes hes a racing legend. But you never hear Tiff mention his past in every review. Oh well lol.
I like Martin, he’s a professional driver and has plenty of experience of fast cars. His opinions are valuable although his comparisons don’t mean anything to me, on the whole I like what he has to say
I think this is the same car that Clarkson reviewed which makes sense as they would have had just the one car in the UK at the time doing the rounds with journalists
I think Martin had it before Jeremy, and Martins drive/review was probably less scripted.. however, what a great car and it’s good to see that they’re still making some incredible cars! I bet the one in this video is probably worth quite a bit of Wonga theses days! 😉
At the 3:38 minute mark he fumbles to grasp the shifter! Didn't he say, the shifter is right where you need it? I've got a C5 ZO6 and the first thing I did to it was cutting an inch off and kept the original leather knob because in essence it's a t-handle. You merely turn your hand IN to grab the wheel and DOWN to grab the shifter. What could be more convenient?!!?! It was not only a poor design it looks like shit!
It was right where you need it. Having a high shift knob in a high horsepower car is great because it’s less time your hand is off of the wheel, meaning you have more control.
Koenigsegg has come a long way, wished Martin could review one of their newer models.
I'd love to see Martin review one of the latest models.
And then they made the CC850 to pay respect to their legend
0:55 - what a lovely example of a dihedral synchro-helix door actuation!
It takes a racing driver like him to be so calm in a vehicle like that!
This CC8S, chassis #7004, has been missing since 2005. It has last been spotted in Florida. Allegedly it was involved in an accident.
" It excelerates nicely" / "It turns in nicely" ....That's nice.
Like most of the commenters on here I think Martin should try Koenigsegg’s latest car. It would show just how much refining they have done.
Sadly they don’t let journalists drive their cars
@@mercury6765 All it takes is for a private owner to allow him to review their personal car.

what is color name of that car
@@Sunedosa he's tired
I love this realistic and critical review. I am sure it really helped Koenigsegg alot
This guy has a familiar voice like a motorsport commentator. Keep working at it Martin, you'll get there.
this is 17 years ago..

most of the eggs are so famous its great to be able to watch an older one being reviewed in high resolution
The interior of the car is gorgeous
You almost want to buy one just for the door hinges! They’re beautiful on this car. Great attention to detail.
brundle forgotten supercar reviewing legend
He's great. That's what Britain still does best (although increasingly rarely).... reserved understatement to the extent of being totally unflappable in any and all conditions.
The real Ridge Racer of cars.
Well done 5th gear team
Need a follow up on this
2:20 'It feels a bit like a DTM or Touring car right where you need it..'
I have no clue about where I need my gear shifts to feel like a DTM car..
......you were reading comments while there's a Koenigsegg being tested?
Damn... Fifth Gear has the best drivers..
Yep, Tiff was a freaking legend and Plato is far from terrible. No idea on the racing career of VBH though.
ZesPak VBH although can be nervous, she’ also drives really well.
Stunning!
I would like to see same test nowdays!
I had no idea Martin was a fifth Gear host
He wasn't a host. He did a one hour special show for them.
Who is he?tiff,plato,Henderson?
my dream car
Should review the Regera Or Jesko.
I wonder what Gordon Murray thought about the driver experience in this?
Did he review a Koenigsegg? Interesting.
650 horsepower with manual wow 🤩.
Martin is the man
You can drive this at low speeds fine if you know how to do it.
Says the motor racing driver 😂
Can anybody comment factually on why the stick is so tall? I used to think the old Lambos had really long shifters, but this thing has them all beat. Is it for more leverage on a stiff gearbox, or maybe so the hand is closer to the wheel?
I think its for ergonomics so that the driver doesn't have to reach down for the shifter.
No bullshit with Martin
A simplier time...how much has changed.
i know this is the first gen, but nearly every review ive seen of an egg seems to be that it doesnt live up to the hype...or the performance figures.
"Sort of like a cross between a ferrari and a lambo"
What are ya on fam
Its a mustang
They've gone so far...
Brundle with his Swedish stereotypes more cringey than when he's gobbling on Hamilton's bangers and mash in F1.
Still, love this Koenigsegg.
this is not a cross of a Ferrari and Lamborghini don't be so biased.

he drove a Toyota GT1 in LeMans yo!!! :D

Why not wait for a dry track and really test it?
Time constraints, presumably?
I would love to see him keep his eyes on the public road rather than the camera 90' to his left.
Nicely...
2M$ deal🤝?

Not finished (raw)
Not the finished article yet you clown.😀
Jeremy Clarkson did a much better review of this car. I love it, although not in black. Thanks.
I think this is the same car that Clarkson reviewed which makes sense as they would have had just the one car in the UK at the time doing the rounds with journalists

Why? why would you wish Martin would?, he’s a retired respected F1 driver, doesn’t make him a better road driver.
