The accident he had that badly damaged his left foot didn’t help...if you can’t feel the brake pedal properly of course you’re going to struggle to win a single seater race, especially in a field of drivers of that calibre. History says he was quick in his F3 and World Sportscar days.
Brundle, just like Johnny Herbert, was quiet a good driver whose career got heavily affected by a foot injury, but just like johnny he still managed to drive in f1 despite having issues with his feet..... That's what you call commitment and mental resilience... This is what you call go hard or home and he went hard and it paid off for him!! Well done, Martin!!

Great piece!! Alex sounds so much like his dad, by that I mean the words he uses “my genetic material is still behind the wheel”. I have so much respect for Martin Brundle. Murray Walker was the voice of F1, but Martin is the voice now and a man who looks at the sport he loves with a critical and sensible perspective. They should let him into these rule making meetings and let him voice his opinion. F1 would already be a much better sport if they did. More like this please SKY! 👍🏻
Now when Martin talks to Jackie Stewart he can say that he raced on THAT track.......................................and how crazy were you guys in the 1960s and 70s to race those cars at that track!
@jameswilkinson2242 He emphasises the era and says 'that' track and highlights Jackie steward as he was at the forefront of the changes, so I dunno what your point is to he honest.
Wonderful film. Almost had tears in my eyes at the end. So touching to watch father and son fulfilling their passion together. Once a racer - ALWAYS a racer.
That was one of the best racing car related videos ever for me. I would love to see Martin running F1 anyway, but to see them both racing and achieving, while taking on stuff that just happens ..... fantastic. thanks :)
This is the best video I have ever seen. To be able to race with your kid and do it in such a way is just what dreams are made off. Big congrats to the Brundle's and to SKY for supporting such a great feat.
What an excellent wholesome father and son experience. I never was able to have anything close to that with my father unfortunately but I’m really happy seeing the two of you able to get on like you do and share something you are both passionate about. Never take it for granted and make as many moments as you can together like this.
Fantastic piece of filming.... Martin at 60 is just incredible to have this courage to race at such a potentially dangerous event. Well done, The Brundles & Sky 👏👏
This is what racing is about! Family! Sure he's in a beautiful race car on a legendary track, but he's out there having a blast with his son! .. SOOO AWESOME! Love it.
The look on his face at the end, with his son, reminded me of when my dad and I rode motorcycles across the U.S., and when we got back home, how happy he looked at finally having done it, and, with me. I had started riding in '76; taught him to ride my bike the next year, and bought him his own Yamaha 750 in 78. We did the trip in 1981. Wonderful memories with dad, and I'm sure the Brundles felt a similar way after their race together.
How cool was that.... Martin Brundle being humble but the old fox still has it... Great Video thanks Sky Sport and AMR, Class act with a master and his very cool son...
What a fantastic story this is, father and son battling the elements and this amazing track together! The Aston looks awesome aswell in its matt green bodywork. A great watch! Thanks.

If you heard Sky Sports F1 coverage of Indy 500 2019, when Alex in the commentary booth, the resemblance of his voice to his father is uncanny!
