I started using Nivea 33 years ago when I had this huge wrinkle line down my face from sleeping on only one side. The line down my face went away after a couple months. I use this every day and every night and even under my make-up. Proud to say I look 20 years younger than most 63 year women thanks to NIVEA. 🌻😎🌻
My mom too but she only used it every night and her skin is beautiful but she doesn’t wear any makeup and she’s been using Nivea since she was very young , she’s 70 years old and every where she go people give her complements of her skin
@Supreme Star Light Nivea creme has Pantenol and Lanolin both rich hydrating and emollient AND regenerative. If your mother didn’t use in her face is because she didn’t want to. The fact is that your personal opinion can’t take the credibility from a product that is 110 years in the market with many swearing by it. La Mer is just Nivea with seaweed , seaweed would only give a calming effect to the skin which you can get using any aloe serum before the Nivea. Price does not equal value. The price is because it is marketed for a luxury product, and as any luxury brand it uses some celebrities to add value to its inflated price.
@Supreme Star Light You write fallacies as if it was true. You deny pantenol and lanolin regenerative properties, which is tested and proved in the medicine thus it is used even treating severe burned people. You say you spent 100k on products to give you credibility as if it was true, even if it is, it only shows you don’t know how to spend money on the right products. Dermatologists already said there is nothing in La Mer to justify its price, all the ingredients are deep moisturizers nothing more. You will get better results applying retinoic acid with any other deep moisturizer if you are over 60. It won’t cost you 100k and you will have results actually proven by years of research.
Licensed Esthtetician here: Based on the ingredient deck, and the seaweed component in the LaMer, is a form of lactic acid. Lactic acid, in itself helps exfoliate the skin, soothes the skin, and can help with rosacea. If you want the benefits of the LaMer, but with a much better price point, you could add a lactic acid serum, or peel pad to you routine, and stick with the Nivea for moisture. Also an FYI, LaMer is owned by Estée Lauder, and Nivea owns La Praire.
This comment literally needs saved my skin!!! In my case, I use alpha Arbutin as a form of a lactic acid for my face. Pairing that with the Nivea. Chef kisses
La mer was created by a scientist way more credible than miss esthetician😂it really works and not like lactic acid you need to do more research on La mer. Or just say you can’t afford it 😂
My dearest dad who passed away in 2019 swore by the original nivea his whole life (the original made in Germany). He always looks younger than his years. I finally picked up a tin and and love it already. Miss you baba. 🙏❤️
(I have been working w La Mer for a few yrs).La Mer has different versions of their creme. The original creme IS suggested for dry to very dry skin. They have a (soft creme) which is much lighter and doesn't require you warm it up with your hands. They recommend the soft creme for normal and combo skins. They also offer a lotion in a pump, which is for combo/oily skins. And lastly, they have a mattifying gel for oily to very oily skins. So everyone has 4 choices. All 4 versions contain the same active seaweed (broth) complex that La Mer is known for, which helps heal and protect the skin. The only difference in the 4 cremes/lotions is the texture to help give the user, their preferred texture based on their skin type and what they like to use. If you don't like the original, you have 3 other options that can still give you the results! Enjoy!
Hello! Can i ask? i just bought lamer soft cream, so for the application no need warm it up on my hands first right? I just apply it straight to my face :)
@kiarakiara8014 exactly 💯, and a little goes a long way, even with this texture! I like to apply the soft creme immediately after a serum, while the skin is still damp. If you scoop a tiny amount, on your fingertips,(both hands) you can massage both sides of your face in an upward/outward motion, and up your neck and jaw, from your collarbone. This will lift up the skin, smooth the creme, use less product overall and create circulation that will give instant glow!! It's a WIN WIN!! ♥️♥️
Hello, I have read comments about La mer.. they say it can cause allergies... bc of an ingradient limonene. What is your opinion? Have you heard about allergies caused from La Mer? I am allergic
When I went to Germany, I was sure to purchase Nivea cream. I got a small one from a drugstore. I didn’t know to use it on my face, I got it for an eczema flare I was having on my hand. It was highly fragranced, but I used it anyway. I was not impressed. 🤷🏽♀️ Maybe I got the wrong one? I wish I still had it to try on my face.
I use le mer and it is amazing! It's my best friend an other beauty tip is 'irish moss' put a spoonful of that in your daily smoothie or juice and you'll notice results. Seaweed and fish are so good for anti-aging.
Actually, paraffinum liquidum is just another name for mineral oil, petrolatum and petrolatum based ingredients you can find in La mer. When buying the La mer cream you are getting a vaseline based cream for the price of a professional procedure (or even a few of them) in a cosmetologist's office
I paused the video to read the ingredients and as soon as I unpaused she said there's no petrolatum when it's literally the second ingredient 😵💫😵💫🤣. Can't trust any other word from that.
Actually that's not always so, though some companies create these ambiguities on purpose in order to mask the mineral oil. I buy paraffinum liquidum (Vaseline oil) for farmacuitcal use in the pharmacy and it's plant based, not a mineral oil derivate. As a matter a fact, it's been used for ages in Italy even as a mild occasional laxative (a tablespoon or two before going to bed). I personaly use it for cleaninf and conditioning the chords on my acoustics guitar...
I’m over 65. Been using la mer for years and years. I don’t do anything else to my face except moisturize every other day after showering. I know,i know. I don’t have wrinkles and I get compliments on my skin ,even without makeup. A small jar lasts me about 5-6 months. The younger you start, the better you’ll look in your old age !
Petrolatum isn’t bad. It is a healing ingredient in as it seals in the moisture and keeps out the germs, stop evaporation and used water on burns or incisions to keep them germ free.
What I noticed is that the lighting and the shadows are different in most of your pictures, which favor La Mer and not Nivea, plus not all creams are for everyone. I've used all kinds of creams in my life and stopped using Nivea to follow trends, and I regret doing that because my skin changed for the worst. Now that I'm back using Nivea, my skin is getting better, and many of my wrinkles are disappearing!! So, for the people watching this video, don't jump, and buy an extremely expensive cream, before trying Nivea from Germany first, I bet you won't regret it and save your money!!
I love Nivea in the winter, but I find it too heavy in the summer for everyday use and it's great on sensitive skin aswell! When my 5 yearold broke out with eczema all over her body a very good old dermatologist told me that when she wasn't red or inflamed, I could give her Nivea and she grew out of it at some point of elementary school. I don't know how american version of Nivea is, but I cann't live without the one they sell here in Europe. My granny and parents used Nivea and I cann't live without it! I tried other variants of Nivea, but the only indispensable is the tin one!

@blackeneddove Idk about your eczema, but 15 years ago, I went through it with my kid. A pediatric dermatologist told me then to never again use steroid creams topicly on the skin of my child, unless I wanted my kid to have to live with eczema for the rest of the life! Steroid cream was what the pediatrician prescribed to give some solace while we had to book and attend the visit with the dermatologist. He also explained that steroid creams can make your eczema disappear while you're using them, but it's not a real cure, becouse as soon as you stop, it comes back and the sideffect of treating skin with steroid creams repeatedly and for long periods of time is that it weakens it even more and the damage then becomes permanent and the skin in treated areas remains thinner, more frail and eczema prone. They didn't know that back in the day (he was in his late seventies then), so dermatologists used to prescribe a bunch of steroids, and then when they figured out what was going on, they stopped. He told me that all the eczema requires is hydration, hydration and more hydration, he also recommended patience and constance and assured that the results would follow and that the skin needs time to heal, grow and "strengthen up". I did exactly as told: applying a specific cream topicly twice a day on flaired up parts, and if it was extradry and flakey, I could dilute the cream with Nivea. Every time my kid took a shower, after treating the eczema, I'd hydrate her from head to toe with Nivea. It was tough: she had outbreaks all over the body except face, hands and genitalia! She was so loaded in the beginning that it would take me even up to 30 minutes each time just to apply the cream topicly on the flared up parts! Bottom line, I persevered and I never took my kid back for a check up or a follow up since egzema became manageable and improved, and my kid that started out with eczema at age 5, simply grew out of it at some point of elementary school and never contracted it since and has got a great skin now. As time went by and she was getting better and better, I switched from Nivea to natural body oils that I use, becouse it was faster and easier to apply, plus kids need autonomy... I have friends that have to live with egzema and the most damaged of all people I know is my mother-in-law and now that she's in her eighties the skin where she used to apply steroids is so thin compared to the rest that she's not just eczema prone, but irritation and infection prone aswell and you can see that with just a glance, becouse it's so evident all year round.
I found her from Instagram and everything she compares Lamer she uses it on that side of her face that's actually smoother, I'm getting irritated by these influencers daily
I have used both of these creams for 10 years. La Mer on my face and Nivea on my arms and legs. I’m 71 years old and when I tell people how old I am they’re shocked and respond that they thought I was in my 40s or 50s I use the whole La Mer line and always look for it on sale. Anyone that says it is just hype has never used the La Mer product.
"We" are not saying LaMer doesn't do the job. We say that Nivea does the same job (or even better) for 5$ and LaMer wants 400$... for what?. It's an insult to my intelligence. I can read the ingredients/components. Why does everybody think I will automaticly buy it because I have money. ("Why not, you can afford it?"). It's not that I can't, I don't want to, because it isn't worth more then a Nivea, probably less. And no, it's not a status symbol, it's just a way of showing your brain capabilities.
The La Mer side looks lifted, tighter and smoother. Can definitely see the difference right away. I watched Mixed Makeup video comparing the 2 and she said as moisturizers they are similar. So we could add a fermented bifida serum under Nivea for a similar skin treatment. I use Isntree TW-Real Bifida Ampoule and it’s fantastic. And I have a thick moisturizer Serious Skincare Lock & Bond. Very similar in consistency to Nivea. Great video 🎉 thanks for sharing! La Mer has given you undeniable results ❤
my Mother was from Switzerland, and she wore Nivea everyday of her life, she had no wrinkles when she passed away, now I am almost 70 and I have been using Nivea too, I have only a very few wrinkles, I love Nivea, and have never wore face makeup
Thank you for making this video. I am in my mid 50's and I use NIVEA creme on top of Argan oil since my skin is dry. Given the price tag of La Mer I would rather invest that money for my retirement (since I have been doing since my mid 20's). I had a friend who would spend $2K on this cream every year. Although her skin was beautiful she was dirt broke. I will stay with my tried and true NIVEA creme. Having great skin is not going to pay for my senior meds when I grow older.
I didnt know that there is an expensive Nivea dupe 😂 Seriously. Nivea is a great face and body moisturizer, but not made to use under make up ! I am not sure foundation even existed back in the day when Nivea was invented. I am German and I use it on the face mostly in the cold season and only in the evening so it can be absorbed overnight. It’s also good for feet and hands and dry lips. I think most households in Germany have a big blue tin of Nivea. It’s a staple. By the way. 12$ for a tin of Nivea is pretty expensive. Probably bc it was imported. The big Nivea tin is around 5€ here.
Nivea side looks brighter! I've been using it now for a couple weeks, and I absolutely love it, pores seem smaller, skin is super soft, and my redness has gone down quite a bit. Thanks for this video!
Hey there! Esthetician speaking. Given the redness in your cheeks I would ditch both of these moisturizers given their fragrant compounds. The eucalyptus oil in la mer can flare redness for sure.
I really enjoyed this video as it gives us a good idea what to use....I do use nivea to seal up my night cream. My skin is soft with no wrinkles yet I am 63 ....Thank you for this great video.....
There are much cheaper creams with algae or similar in . Elemis pro-collagen marine cream isn't cheap as Nivea, but is much more affordable than Le Mer. I'm 62 with virtually no wrinkles . I used Liz Earle from age 39-55 and I've been using Elemis and Murad for the last almost 8.
Would you consider doing a La Mer vs La Prairie (skin caviar luxe cream) comparison? 1/2 and 1/2 for 60 days? I use the La Prairie and LOVE IT... but would really love to see your opinion when compared with La Mer (which I've tried and liked but never used over time)...
Some brand just needs to ferment seaweed properly and mix it up with nivea/vaseline. Fermented seaweed is honestly the only signiticant difference between la mer and othet seaweed products.
People need to please stop saying Nivea is a dupe it does not have the clear liquidy sea kelp broth in it which builds collagen and it does not have extremely hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid it's not a dupe and sorry to say I tested it also and it did nothing at all for my fine lines the fragrance just made me break out and the greasiness made me break out however the expensive cream reviewed here greatly reduced my fine lines and I wished it had not because it's too expensive but it definitely works at least for older people with thin skin and dry skin with a lot of Fine Lines it works
I'd use La Met if I could, but I got no money. I don't have rosacea or oily or problem skin. Nivea creme is wonderful for me, it's kept me soft and beautiful for a ridiculous low price. It's a miracle in a jar! The kind I get is in the 13.5 oz blue glass tub. It's made in Mexico, and it's as thick as cream cheese! I would not recommend it for anyone with oily skin, however. It's got mineral oil, petrolatum, microcrystalline wax, lanolin alcohol, and paraffin. Definitely not for oily skin or acne!!
@Evagelos Papadopoulos I might recommend that to my mom, she's very sensitive as to creams and soap...I've heard of Eucerin brand, but don't think I've ever tried any.
I would also say that the lighting on one side is darker on the Nivea side and the shadows highlight the pours and imperfections. I would like to see you switch sides and then see
Hi 😊 thanks for recording your 2 month comparison. PLEASE TELL US IF THE LA MER EYE CREAM REDUCED PUFFINESS AND BAGS AND CROWS FEET. ITS A CRAZY QUESTION BECAUSE YOU ARE SO YOUNG BUT MAYBE YOU CAN HELP
Great Vid. I love that I could really see the difference (great camera work). I love that your "talk"was on point the whole way through. I love that you did a "wear test" with makeup (it really does make a difference). Maybe I will get some LaMer, after seeing this.
I have used Nivea since I was a child. Just as skincare overall. Not exclusively. But it was recommended by my derm as a kid as I have keratosis Polaris and eds. I vaguely remember some brand shadiness a while back. However. I hsve no desire to pay lamer prices. I won't age like normal people will. Ever. So I don't stress the aging bit too heavily.
I've used La Mer original cream since it's launch in the UK, pretty much (around year 2000) Costco members get a big discounted rate. I don't use 95% of the range of Mer, nothing like but it has always worked like a dream for me, when following the instructions. It's also great for healing blisters caused by shoes too. I've been begging them for a fragrance-free version for years; that's my only quibble.
The moment I saw you start the video I noticed that the Le mer side was thinner and more lifted whereas the Nivea side seemed a little wider, plumper and a bit more red. I like the la mer side. Thank you for taking the time to make this review
Thank you for making this video and doing such a comprehensive real-life test. I tried La Mer a long time ago (20 years) and liked it a lot. I also liked the lovely scent, and a little seemed to go far, primarily since I only used it as a night cream. I even bought a second jar. I didn't do a comparative photo test back then, but I thought it might help with my slight rosacea. I didn't continue buying La Mer afterward because it was so expensive, but I tried some other very nice high-end products, just not as expensive as La Mer. Three years after my initial experience with La Mer, and due to getting some "real people modeling" work, I decided to buy a bottle of La Mer "The Concentrate" serum, because that product has the most seaweed concentrate. I used that serum along with other high end creams for quite a while and although I didn't realize it at the time, it was really doing a great job, because my skin looked good and didn't seemed to have aged during that time. It had good texture, and it helped with the slight rosacea patch on my check. It was only after I ran out did I noticed my skin starting to look "older" and more wrinkles around the eye area. So, I concluded, using La Mer's "The Concentrate" + other high-end creams had kept my skin younger looking. I considered buying getting another bottle but the already expensive price had gone up. Fast-forward to the present: I have now used a few other high-end skincare creams for anti-aging. Some I like a lot, ie. L'Occitane's Divine Cream, although sometimes it is too rich if I'm in a humid locale. I started using Divine Cream because L'Occitane participated in a third party test with women using Divine Cream on half their face, and whatever they used before on the other half. The women reported dramatic differences saying that the different halves of their face looked like two different people. (The study also tested other luxury creams and Divine Cream beat out the competition.) I'm currently using Sulwhasoo's products because I bought a trial box and love it! It's also expensive, so when I finish using what I have, I'll have to think about what I'm going to use next. Anyway, giving my prior experience, your video is making me consider using La Mer's "The Concentrate" again. 🤔It's just crazy expensive.
Great video and helpful. I’m still looking for a la mer dupe 😂 because I really like la mer. I got my first one for free and fell in love. And I only bought it once after and only use it when I need it.
I've been using LaMer for about a year now and love how my 70-year-old face looks. When I'm at the LaMer counter in Nordstrom the sales lady always gathers other sales ladies and brings them over to guess my age. The guess is always late 40's. I must admit that I have always had great skin with no wrinkles but I am starting to get a little Jawl shagging. After a year my skin is still great and I am just now replacing my LeMer creams. They last a long time.
I went through the same guilt horror or buying la mer then I actually finally tried it. It is amazing. I'm a bit older than you so I leveled up to the genaissance line which is also ungodly expensive, but the infused lotion is really the holy grail it dose it all and surprisingly lasts quite a long time. I swim 4 days a week and it dries my skin out unbelievably. This product brings my skin back immediately it sinks right in and nothing is wasted. I also use the eye cream that is also delightful. Try the oil it is also a great product you can add it to your other skin care/makeup and it turns it into the smooth looking cream. Can you review the Victoria Beckham skin care line I would be interested in what you think. Thanks
how much money did she get for this false video? read the list of ingredients for both creams. it's exactly the same. except that for the cream at $350 they add an ingredient of 0.2% more. don't be fooled. La prairie, la mer, and Helena Rubinstein only sell dreams the only really luxury brand where maybe I say where the price is justified is the sisley brand
@@Frizzandfrillzz really ? OK, but I insist that this is absolutely false. the two creams are identical. only 0.20% extra ingredients for the creme la mer which is ridiculous. L'Oréal is doing much better. and in luxury Sisley or guerlain is a sure value.
I am going to perform the same test. Using La Mer Crème de la Mer cream on one side of the face. The other side of the face use German NIVEA with MIRACLE SEA KELP CONDUCTOR & SERUM from Jolispa (my aesthetician friends over at Jolispa who source the highest quality ingredients) which is equivalent to La Mer The Regenerating Serum.
@@bellabirdlove1 By a long margin, La Mer crème was the better of the two. Worlds apart, plus I COULDN’T tolerate the NIVEA crème scent..🤢 I really wanted the cheaper NIVEA crème to work, but alas, “a you pay for what you get”. Sorry to inform..
Interesting comparison! I'm not sure how much cheaper it is than the La Mer, but the Kiehl's Avocado eye cream doesn't give me the milia bumps, so that might be a comparison to try.
Thank you, I tried both Augustinian rich cream and the lighter one but I can’t say that I found them moisturizing or that they did anything to my skin. I’m curious how Augustine’s vs LaMer would be. Thank u
This is not a good comparison of Nivea to La mer since the seaweed or sea kelp coral, astaxanthin, and other ingredients were not added with Nivea during your experiment. It's like comparing two milkshakes, one without the chocolate.
In my opinion, this comparison was made because I've personally have seen other people comparing the La Mer cream with Nivea. Not sure if it's a fair comparison, but still.
Thank you for this video!! Iam a believer I immediately looked and said whatever is on her Left side (your right side) is the winner as I could see the difference! And it was La Mer!!
I am in my early 40’s and tried Nivea for a long period of time. For a person of my age with combination skin I said this lamer has got to be hype! I bought a small kit of the eye crème, lamer moisturizer, the concentrate, and the treatment lotion for 3 months. First off that tiny mini kit lasted me 3 months as a tiny amount does the job…and I mean tiny the size of your pinky. So that says a lot that for twice a day I only needed two pinky sizes of each product. I noticed my face looked incredibly healthy, my makeup was looking much better, and my overall appearance was just healthier. I then bought the cream, eye cream, and concentrate. Looking beautiful it lasted me. Year.I stopped using it to save money and looking at my pictures from six months ago to now a huge difference. Now repurchasing and using two weeks again of lamer and I’m back to looking and feeling Amazing. So it does work , as far as cost the small version minis last two to three month, the small regular versions a year, so it’s well worth it in my opinion. If you are skeptical try their mini set. I’m betting you like me will not be able to deny it is worth it.
What a good idea to try this out! Love the research and effort you put in this video❤But: -The flare ups on the Nivea side can very well be because of the fragrance or the difference in one or more of the ingredients. -Cold creams break up make up.☹️ And Nivea screams cold cream. -More bang for your buck and the science to back them up (Mario Badesco/ Seaweed Night Cream or OSEA/Advanced Protection Cream and The Seaweed Bath&Co Body cream. All three fragrance and cruelty free (Fun facts) Nivea now has quite an array of different skincare lines, even a non fragranced sos balm for baby's. This is the most original version. It's a cold cream, an emulsion of water in a larger amount of oil (CeraVe moisturizing cream in another example). The water evaporates on your skin, leaving a nice sheen of the oil. Cold creams (Ponds still has one) were predominantly used to remove make up in the first half of the previous century.
I tried to go on your link in your description for the German Nivea and when Amazon comes up it says this page is not available. Is there somewhere else I can buy it?
As soon as you told me which product you put on which side, I knew which one was better. I could see the difference. Thank you for making this video and doing a two-month wear test!
Thank you for sharing this video. I love La Mer too but will give Nivea a shot. Cold weather can definitely bad for the skin. Hydrate and eat healthy as well. ❤
Its amazinf that you legitimately have everyone under the sun coming up with excuses as to why you shouldnt like or believe the results you clearly got. Shows how much bias and hatred people have towards expensive products (or more likely, the wealthy people that buy them).
Your information is incorrect. Mineral Oil is a by-product of the process used to create petroleum products (gasoline). Other names include: Paraffin Oil, Liquid Paraffin, Paraffinum Liquidum and Liquid Petroleum. But they are all the same thing. If you look at both the American and the German Nivea, the ingredients are the same, just different names for the same things. The only difference is that the American one contains a particular preservative. I think the reason people prefer one to the other has to do with the illusory truth effect, say it enough and they'll believe it.
I have to say this but cream de la Mer helps me to calm down my adult acne and it does better job than Retin A for my aging skin. Still using AHA/BHA once a week to keep my skin exfoliated. Also I know that so many people hate La Mer just for the price point. 🤷♀️
I don't like using anythig greasy like vaselinej or mineral oil because it just ends up getting in the hair and both are really bad for hair. It is hard to get off hair and will resist moisture leaving hair dry or unruly
Also a thing to consider w this half and half business you're doing. Which side is facing outwards ehen you are in a car. That makes a huge huge diff in aging and skin condition
I tried *Lamer* and a lot of skin care creams. Honestly i got best results by *Whiteonskinwhitening cream* anti-aging results amazing also i got snow glow effect on my skin ❤️❤️
The German version of Nivea has completely different ingredients than the version sold in US and Canada…the company is based in Germany, however, the tin may show that its made in China etc…The German one shows “made in Germany” and that version is phenomenal..Even if both cost the same money I’d pick German Nivea every time!
I love La Mer and grimace very time I plunk down my credit card for a new jar of La Mer moisturizing cool gel cream that keeps my almost 73 year old skin looking radiant and smooth. Parsing it out justifies the cost. Their eye creams are wonderful too.
I started using Nivea 33 years ago when I had this huge wrinkle line down my face from sleeping on only one side. The line down my face went away after a couple months. I use this every day and every night and even under my make-up. Proud to say I look 20 years younger than most 63 year women thanks to NIVEA. 🌻😎🌻
Same here I’m almost 50 and I just use it for almost 4 years ! I will use Nivea crème till the end 😆
@@bisayadaku6065 you look so young!
Agree you can't beat nivea I love it 🙏
My mom too but she only used it every night and her skin is beautiful but she doesn’t wear any makeup and she’s been using Nivea since she was very young , she’s 70 years old and every where she go people give her complements of her skin
Lol
Consdering that Nivea Creme came first, La Mer is the dupe here.
@Supreme Star Light Foolish is someone that spends hundreds on mediocre ingredients and marketing. La Mer is a scam. The Barbara Sturm of it all... 😂
@Supreme Star Light lol Nivea Creme is the best selling cream in history, more than 100 years around
@@Nat.ali.a "poors and fools" lmao your intelligence is questionable 💀
Licensed Esthtetician here: Based on the ingredient deck, and the seaweed component in the LaMer, is a form of lactic acid. Lactic acid, in itself helps exfoliate the skin, soothes the skin, and can help with rosacea. If you want the benefits of the LaMer, but with a much better price point, you could add a lactic acid serum, or peel pad to you routine, and stick with the Nivea for moisture. Also an FYI, LaMer is owned by Estée Lauder, and Nivea owns La Praire.
I didn’t know la prairie is owned by nivea
Ah that makes sense! Thank you.
This comment literally needs saved my skin!!! In my case, I use alpha Arbutin as a form of a lactic acid for my face. Pairing that with the Nivea. Chef kisses
This is soooo false 😂😂😂LOL nice try “licensed estheticians” really don’t know anything.
Where'd you buy it . The original Nivea
Soft creme*
I am allergic
very Helpful! I was going to try the creme but maybe the soft cream will be better.
I’m a portrait photographer for over 20 years and the light set up makes a world of difference. The Nivea side was a much harsher light.😂
That's what i was about to say
Exactly...!
I use the Nivea cream from Germany. It’s amazing yet so simple. This cream has healed my skin. It got rid of my exema.
@@maddylee444 lol me too, at 06:01 looking at comments :)
Thanks for this comment I thought the same thing but was not sure
Actually that's not always so, though some companies create these ambiguities on purpose in order to mask the mineral oil. I buy paraffinum liquidum (Vaseline oil) for farmacuitcal use in the pharmacy and it's plant based, not a mineral oil derivate. As a matter a fact, it's been used for ages in Italy even as a mild occasional laxative (a tablespoon or two before going to bed). I personaly use it for cleaninf and conditioning the chords on my acoustics guitar...
Mineral oil is not evil .. Its just that some companies want our money by selling us snake oil... I mean those "fancy sounding names".
You can’t be over 65 and have ‘no wrinkles’ unless you’ve been using tretinoin and spf since your thirties or you have black or asian genes
@@udontevenwannaknowbruv I have frown lines, sagging neck, age spots…typical age related skin, but i really don’t have wrinkles.
That's awesome! I'm 63, and tanned and an ked for over 40 hours. I wish I wish I had none about skincare way back then!
Hello, I have read comments about La mer.. they say it can cause allergies... bc of an ingradient limonene. What is your opinion?
@@daniby9894 hmm… I will have to try this cream again. Does the Nivea cream have fragrance? Did I get the right one?
I found her from Instagram and everything she compares Lamer she uses it on that side of her face that's actually smoother, I'm getting irritated by these influencers daily
I have used both of these creams for 10 years. La Mer on my face and Nivea on my arms and legs. I’m 71 years old and when I tell people how old I am they’re shocked and respond that they thought I was in my 40s or 50s I use the whole La Mer line and always look for it on sale. Anyone that says it is just hype has never used the La Mer product.
❤ ich werde 60 und ich denke wie Sie. Sollen doch alle plappern. La mer ist jeden Cent wert
Do you use this nivea on your body or a bodylotion from them?
Do you have oily face?
"We" are not saying LaMer doesn't do the job. We say that Nivea does the same job (or even better) for 5$ and LaMer wants 400$... for what?. It's an insult to my intelligence. I can read the ingredients/components. Why does everybody think I will automaticly buy it because I have money. ("Why not, you can afford it?"). It's not that I can't, I don't want to, because it isn't worth more then a Nivea, probably less. And no, it's not a status symbol, it's just a way of showing your brain capabilities.
They never used it as they couldn't afford it.
Yes its true nivea cream have something for no wrinkles 100 % true my aunt age 80 still have no wrinkles she used nivea cream last 50 years 🙃🙃🙃
Nivea doesn't cause potholes that's a skin issue. You have rosacea correct? You shouldn't use any scented products.
Thanks for your review. I was indeed surprised of all the La Mer bashing reviews around. You provided proper information without being biased.
I didnt know that there is an expensive Nivea dupe 😂
Seriously.
I have always used Nivea underneath my makeup and have had no problem with it.
The 5€ tin they sell in Europe is 250 ml. The one she shown is the 450 ml version
Actually, Nivea is a great primer for under makeup as long as you use a very thin layer and have dry skin.
Nivea side looks brighter! I've been using it now for a couple weeks, and I absolutely love it, pores seem smaller, skin is super soft, and my redness has gone down quite a bit. Thanks for this video!
But not as lifted and as toned/smooth.
It looks brighter because of the lighting lol... Even her neck and collarbone looks brighter that side
Also good for feet (if you have the patience of wrap them some minutes with socks), and obviously hands :-)
@Ladybug2461 which cerave product is the nivea equivilant but for somone with rosacea please help me
Did you take photos of both sides of your face before you started using the creams?
Hey there! Esthetician speaking. Given the redness in your cheeks I would ditch both of these moisturizers given their fragrant compounds. The eucalyptus oil in la mer can flare redness for sure.
what would you reccomend thats similar to nivea but wont cause redness i have this problem and i am wondering what to use im looking for a cream
Try Estee Lauder Nutritious line. It has sweet kelp etc. Sea ingredients and if Estee Lauder owns La Mer may be worth a shot
I would never buy LaMer!! Outrageous price. It would have to literally turn back the clock 40 years for me to buy it. I love Nivea!!
Me too
I really enjoyed this video as it gives us a good idea what to use....I do use nivea to seal up my night cream.
What did you use before Elemis?
May I ask why you stopped using the Liz Earle?
I love La mer as well. It makes such a difference to my skin.
I notice that the side where you used the Le Mer it is more lifted .you are so beautiful ❤
Yes, and more even toned. Looks firmer too.
@@MC-iw6nvAnd better lightening too.
Yeah the lighting is also better on the la mer side
If you try Nivea made in Mexico or USA, it is NOT the same as the original Nivea from Germany. Nivea from Germany have been and is GREAT!
THE ORIGINAL NIVEA FROM GERMANY IS THE BEST CREAM EVER !!!
Would you consider doing a La Mer vs La Prairie (skin caviar luxe cream) comparison? 1/2 and 1/2 for 60 days? I use the La Prairie and LOVE IT... but would really love to see your opinion when compared with La Mer (which I've tried and liked but never used over time)...
you use la prairie for antiaging? you saw a difference at wrinkles and lifting or something?
The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronic serum + Nivea= La Mer
My mom was 84 when she died on the 3 May 2022, mom used Nivea n had no wrinkles.
Sorry for your loss 😢
@nelufer no bc I have eds.
@nelufer oh it's no big deal. Most people don't know much about it.
Nivea is NOT a dupe lol
I've used La Mer original cream since it's launch in the UK, pretty much (around year 2000) Costco members get a big discounted rate. I don't use 95% of the range of Mer, nothing like but it has always worked like a dream for me, when following the instructions. It's also great for healing blisters caused by shoes too. I've been begging them for a fragrance-free version for years; that's my only quibble.
Haha please I need a fragrance free La mer line in my life.
Is the fragrance too strong? I am allergic to most fragrances but I want so much to try la mer
The moment I saw you start the video I noticed that the Le mer side was thinner and more lifted whereas the Nivea side seemed a little wider, plumper and a bit more red. I like the la mer side. Thank you for taking the time to make this review
I LOVE Nivea...but get the metal tin because that's the original formula. Don't forget your hands ladies. It drinks up Nivea.
(The study also tested other luxury creams and Divine Cream beat out the competition.)
I'm currently using Sulwhasoo's products because I bought a trial box and love it! It's also expensive, so when I finish using what I have, I'll have to think about what I'm going to use next. Anyway, giving my prior experience, your video is making me consider using La Mer's "The Concentrate" again. 🤔It's just crazy expensive.
Thank you for this Video. I just bought La Mer. Glad to find out. You helped me. 😊
Great video and helpful. I’m still looking for a la mer dupe 😂 because I really like la mer. I got my first one for free and fell in love. And I only bought it once after and only use it when I need it.
Really helpful! Would be interesting to compare with CeraVe.
Hi! What do you think of Cetaphil versus NIVEA?
LOVE your dedication to the experiment. Well done!
A true and complete test is if you switched the Nivea and La Mer sides for two months to see if your results are consistent.
Thanks for the video! I have mature, rosacea prone, sensitive skin. This helps me out alot!
I have been using the German Nivea as a daily body cream and only on my face at night. It is an incredible moisturizer and I’m a fan.
The Nivea side looks a little more red.
Thanks
it contains fragrance?
A very comprehensive review ,well-done.
Did you apply these in the morning or at night before bed?
I like the nivea side it is plumper
I have always used the Nivea on my arms and legs. It is fantastic for dry winter legs and also for after sun. It makes a tan glow.
Totally agree as a general emollient rich moisturizer!
how much money did she get for this false video? read the list of ingredients for both creams. it's exactly the same. except that for the cream at $350 they add an ingredient of 0.2% more. don't be fooled.
La prairie, la mer, and Helena Rubinstein only sell dreams
the only really luxury brand where maybe I say where the price is justified is the sisley brand
They paid me $0…this was my own experiment and these are my real results…period
@@Frizzandfrillzz really ? OK, but I insist that this is absolutely false. the two creams are identical. only 0.20% extra ingredients for the creme la mer which is ridiculous.

So what were your results?
@@bellabirdlove1 By a long margin, La Mer crème was the better of the two. Worlds apart, plus I COULDN’T tolerate the NIVEA crème scent..🤢 I really wanted the cheaper NIVEA crème to work, but alas, “a you pay for what you get”. Sorry to inform..
Interesting comparison! I'm not sure how much cheaper it is than the La Mer, but the Kiehl's Avocado eye cream doesn't give me the milia bumps, so that might be a comparison to try.
Did you use once a day or twice?
The Nivea is glowing.
Super helpful, thanks for this. Just commenting for the algorithm :)
The whole point is people say Nivea is a dupe. Adding sea kelp to Nivea for a review 😂😂 girl stop.
Thank you for this video!! Iam a believer I immediately looked and said whatever is on her Left side (your right side) is the winner as I could see the difference! And it was La Mer!!
Nivea is fabulous! And a great price too
New subscriber; yes I can see a difference- the LaMer side looks flawless as opposed to the Nivea side.
This was so great !
Learned a lot from video and all the great comments!
Yes! I guessed before you revealed which side was which and I have to say, the la mer side looks more firm, like so much more firm.
It sounds like it helps you with redness and rosacea . I don’t have those problems so Nivea might be good for me . Thanks
Your left side with la mer looks Firmer and lifted 🥰
I love Nivea , I cant afford 100 dollars moisturizers so I use Nivea and my dry skin / psoriasis loves it. ! Looks like porcelain
Love the research and effort you put in this video❤But:
-The flare ups on the Nivea side can very well be because of the fragrance or the difference in one or more of the ingredients.
-Cold creams break up make up.☹️ And Nivea screams cold cream.
-More bang for your buck and the science to back them up (Mario Badesco/ Seaweed Night Cream or OSEA/Advanced Protection Cream and The Seaweed Bath&Co Body cream. All three fragrance and cruelty free
(Fun facts) Nivea now has quite an array of different skincare lines, even a non fragranced sos balm for baby's.
So happy I came across your channel! Great video and explanation. Love your curls, too!!
The only La Mer video I needed to watch. ❤❤❤❤
Nivea is great for your feet! 😁
Some of these ppl are unreasonably upset at how other people spend their time and money.
Thank you for shaeing. Will try the nivea cream . 😊
I can see that the La Mer side of the face is lifted and firm.
Yes me too! I wonder how is it even possible????
The Nive xream links adsnt working. 😢 I want it xor my body!!
I suppose that at her age two months is a long time.
I tried *Lamer* and a lot of skin care creams. Honestly i got best results by *Whiteonskinwhitening cream* anti-aging results amazing also i got snow glow effect on my skin ❤️❤️
I feel like the lighting played into the nivea, side on the photos. Can you do something where you show both sides under the same exact lighting?
The German version of Nivea has completely different ingredients than the version sold in US and Canada…the company is based in Germany, however, the tin may show that its made in China etc…The German one shows “made in Germany” and that version is phenomenal..Even if both cost the same money I’d pick German Nivea every time!
Wow...can you tell me where can I get the German version...I usually just buy the little tins from Walmart or Walgreens for like a buck...
@@sanr6816 I have the German version linked in the video!
She’s using the German version.
It’s not true I live in Germany
I got the made in Germany one at shoppers (I'm in Calgary). 🤷
I love La Mer and grimace very time I plunk down my credit card for a new jar of La Mer moisturizing cool gel cream that keeps my almost 73 year old skin looking radiant and smooth. Parsing it out justifies the cost. Their eye creams are wonderful too.
Wow, you look great for 73!
I only use Nivea as a mask. Leave on for 25 minutes. Gets rid of bags underneath the eyes.
Good idea! Gonna do this tonight.
Why their camera always show different lights while mine is mostly consistent.
