As someone who suffers from ezcema and psoriasis as well as a rare immune disorder that causes a lot of allergic reactions, here is the tip you need to know about Avene. Avene originally was developed for sufferers of ezcrma and psoriasis and are both fragrance and chemical free. But, Avene has now developed a line that has fragrance and some other things that can be harsh on the skin. They often have a heavy rosy/ baby powder smell. When checking out the items you can look at the ingredients list but a hack is the front of the container, most of them are stamped with SENSITIVE in blue in all caps if it is fragrance and chemical free EXCEPT for the Cicalfate+ line where it is written in gray in lower case letters. Both are located near the bottom of the tube and higher up on jars.
Have a beautiful weekend everyone! Guys, I love LaMer! I treat myself to the soft cream, maybe, once a year. As it is soooooo expensive. I also love the aroma.
Even if I was extremely wealthy, I wouldn't buy a face moisturizer that costs over 500 dollars! That is insane, imho. Sheri, your skin looks so pretty! I hope you are enjoying your cruise to Europe. ❤❤
@@tracyc5752 That amount could help a single mom make rent. That amount could feed 50 shelter pets for a month. That amount could sponsor several children with cancer to a fun summer camp. Humans, let’s spend our discretionary money in a way that blesses others.🤑
The thing that took my skin from being dry, dehydrated and tight to normal was squalane oil under my moisturizer. In one month. I now forget to moisturize my skin in the morning because it feels so nice, whether beforehand I would slather it with jojoba oil and thick oily creams and it wouldn't help.
I bought a squalane stick for a couple bucks and I SWEAR by it now. It took me from dry, flakey skin that I'd have to mist half way through the day to a normal skin type! Helped heal my skin when I over exfoliated in attempt to get rid of the flakes!
Hey Donna! Their Cicalfate line is sooooo good! I don't love all their products (some have fragrance I don't care for) but their fragrance free products are fabulous! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! 💜
Yes Nivea is NOTHING like La Mer on fine lines I totally agree ! Nivea cream is greasy and does not plump and reduce fine lines like La Mer. I'm kind of tired of people saying Nivea is a dupe to be honest !
i agree I know its expensive but it lasts a long time I buy it on sale at costco 185 for the large jar lasts me 7 months and I dont want a dupe because I wont give up what this has proven to do for me. Think of it as the only cream you need save your face and spend or save your money on cleansers and makeup. @@honeybunch1143
nivea is definitely not a dupe although it does have many of the same skin care ingredients at as la mer. i did a video on this and came up with a pretty good dupe
I've generally converted to FF skincare but La Mer is one of the exceptions. I enjoy the scent of it (while I hate most other fragranced skincare products) and the Creme de La Mer actually healed the dry, chapped skin under my nose last winter. No other creams I used (I was using good brands too) did squat but the La Mer healed it in a matter of two weeks. Between K Beauty products/techniques, French Pharmaceutical skincare, Derm recommendations, and a few high end brands (La Mer, Clarins, SkinCeuticals), my skin is doing very well for a 56yo who’s never used any Retinol products on my face.
I'm in my late sixties. Almost overnight these vertical crepey wrinkles formed on the front of my neck. I've tried so many things to soften them so they're not so noticeable. Every night I use retinaldehyde, a mist of water and hyaluronic acid. Then a moisturizer. My skin looks smoother for a while until this dries, then the wrinkles are back in all their glory. The last couple of nights I have used the dupe mentioned in this video as the last layer. When I get up in the morning my neck still looks pretty good. As far as I'm concerned, this stuff is a miracle cream! I' m going to use it during the day, too. Thank you for recommending it!!
I LOVE the Avene. I decided to try La Mer to see what the fuss was about. It's such a joke. I feel the company is making fools of women who are buying it because it does not do anything so much more appropriately priced can do. We're just making them rich. I noticed NO difference using La Mer after one year of using it. thanks for making this video.
Oh I so wish I didn’t, but I absolutely love La Mer and always go back to it. I’ve tried them all over many years, and there’s absolutely nothing else like it in my opinion. I’m 61 years old and (not to sound obnoxious) I get compliments on my skin very often.
Just watched and wanted to purchase all 3 of these products right now. Unfortunately hesitated as I just missed discount date. :/ it’s Memorial Day weekend! Anyway to have company extend the date until midnight 05/31/23?
I wish I didn’t either. But my skin love it too much😢. I’m almost 60 and no wrinkles no fine lines yet .People who work with me ask me every year where did I get my Botox done. I take that as a compliment 😂 of course I use other anti aging products but I use La Mer like it’s gold😂😂😂
There is no algae in cicalfate and that's the most essential thing about la mer, that it has plenty of it (1st on ingredients list). So it's hardly a dupe - there is plenty of mineral oil based creams out there without algae like cicalfate.
The ( because i'm cheap ) line really got me . . too funny . . I worked for an Estee' Lauder brand ( which also owns La Mer ) for 3 years and us in the biz referred to La Mer as expensive chicken grease . . Also upon viewing the clients that purchased this so called miracle in a bottle . . I never witnessed any miraculous youthful transformations . . Buyer Beware!
I use this beautiful Avene cream that you recommend. I love it, it’s got no aroma and it’s one of the only creams that keeps my extremely dry skin hydrated. Also helps the eczema I get occasionally on my hands and eyelids. I was recommended by my own dermatologist. Great validation for me thanks! I’m now a subscriber 🙏
I love La Mer the best moisturizer for my very mature (old) skin. I buy 1 oz for $200 need very little every time and 1oz lasts me about 3 month. Has very little fragrance you can hardly smell it, and for me it is worth every penny!!! Trust me because at my age I have tried about every moisturizer there is! Also works great as a primer under my foundation.
A lot if people don’t realize you need to warm it up to activate it and pat it to the skin, not rub it in like other lotions or creams. So they don’t get the effects! If you break out then your just to sensitive and your going to have an issue with a lot of moisturizers. I love my la mer!!!
Years ago a dermatologist told me that the most important things you can do for your skin are: Don’t Smoke, Don’t get too much Sun, Eat Healthy, Stay Hydrated, Exercise, Get Adequate Sleep and above all, Choose Your Parents Wisely! 😂😂 He said a simple cleanser and moisturizer is sufficient, your skin is only going to absorb so much, if it was any more penetrable we’d drown every time we took a bath! 🤷🏼♀️
I absolutely love the Avene Cicalfate! My dermatologist gave me the product to use after my laser treatment and I’ve been using it ever since. Makes a great nighttime moisturizer and I love the way it feels on my skin, and my skin is still hydrated in the morning.
Love the Avene! Bought it after a previous video you did. Absolutely changed my skin :) Sadly I bought the La Mer a while back & had the same reaction all over my face and neck. Wasted my money on it. I’m Avene all the way. I haven’t tried the emulsion, so ordering that now. Awesome as always Sherri! Enjoy your trip. Lots of love 😘
So happy to hear that. I agree about the Avene. Their fragrance free products are fantastic. I'm not a fan of a lot of other products from the brand that aren't fragrance free but the handful that I use are absolute faves. They really do change the skin..thanks so much for sharing!💜
Ok, I have been using La Mer for almost 4 years, I went off the last two months, trying to find a dupe and testing a product that I thought was a dupe but I have to admit I'm going back to my La Mer. It took about four months for me to really see a difference when I first started using the product, almost a full 2 ounce jar, but it really is as good or better than everything else I've tried. It's not just the moisture level, which is all you can really compare when you're only using for a few weeks. It actually does make my skin better over time. I have no sensitivity to fragrance so all of the things that you say could be irritating to the skin does not bother me . Using a half ounce is not going to give you a comparison do you need at least 4 to 6 months. Having said that, I should try this new dupe while my skin is off La Mer and see if it brings my skin back to par.
Hey Lisa, what if you try good hydrators 1st (like the Avene Thermal Spring Water) and mist it on your skin 1st and then add your favorite hydrating serum (like DRMTLGY NEEDLE-LESS, or even something like The Ordinary HA + Alpha Arbutin over the mist then mist again then add the hydrator again ( I like to repeat those steps a couple times to add loads of hydration before the moisture) and THEN add the Avene Cicalfate Cream. I even mist again after I put on the Cicalfate and massage it in and see if that helps with the dryness??? Also I've been using my Vanicream Daily moisturizer 1st and THEN kinda slugging with the Avene Cicalfate at night and I'm LOVING the results. Super inexpensive too. But some gals are saying the same thing that you are saying, that they LOVE LOVE LOVE Lamer so you know that just goes to show that we all have different skin types and not everything works the same for us all. My main concern with fragrance is that even if it doesn't bother us now, so many Dermatologists say it "can' cause issues over time. My sister, who is just a couple years older than me, never had issues with fragrance in skincare and now she suddenly developed Rosacea. Her Dermatologist told her it's from years of using face products with fragrance. Yikes! So I try to be careful with fragrance in my leave in products. I'm ok with a small amount but since Lamer has a TON of fragrance in the ingredients, just be cautious with your beautiful, perfect face! 🤗💜
Unpopular opinion but I love La Mer. I ask for it every year on my birthday my husband gets it from Costco at a fantastic discount still crazy stupid expensive the 3.4 ounce lasts over a year I don’t use it as my daily moisturizer only date night & special occasions. Sheri anything you have ever said is your holy grail I’ve bought it 😂 one of those is the Montarbo lactic acid, WOW! 🤤 when I have something to do where I want to look my very best I exfoliate with Montarbo and then use my La Mer no joke I glow like red carpet glow. My everyday moisturizer is the vanicream it's perfection. Thank you! You are getting more beautiful as the days pass 😘 ordering the Avene now.
Thanks so much for this. I hated the scent of La Mer and it did nothing for me. I have heard of the Avene cicalfate, so I’m definitely going to try it. However LaMer did work for a couple of my friends. One person, her eczema cleared up, and another friend, her pores got smaller and her skin looks fantastic. I think this cream does work, just only for some people.
I tried once lamer at a store and its just a thick cream you can add vitamin e to your regular cream and make a very good cream for your face. Retinol is the only ingredient that helps with wrinkles.
Retin A is the only product that will erase a wrinkle ask any derm doc nothing else can penetrate the dermal layer like it. You have to be patient with it and start slow I started using it 35 years ago and I am way past retirement without a single wrinkle honestly. I had teenage acne so bad I was forced to use it or hid in my room. It took 7 months to clear my skin and my skin peeled and burned the whole time now I still use it everyday just because I can and wrinkles are not an issue . I use cheek filler every 2=3 years and botox for brow lift and lip flip and that's it. I am lucky I was introduced to retin A young. I use it on my neck and chest to
I had gotten a small (very small) jar of Le Mer several years ago. I looked like I had a severe chemical burn all over my face. Took forever to recover. No one can ever tell me they have sensitive skin and are able to use Le Mer. I will definitely check out Avene. Thanks for the recommendation!
Oh no, I'm sorry that happened. I don't even have sensitive skin and my neck reacted quite terribly to the Lamer cream. Thankfully the Avene healed it pretty fast. I even accidentally cut my leg the other day in our cruise cabin and literally within a couple days even my husband noticed how it was healed after using this Avene Cicalfate cream on it. I don't know how it does it so fast but it is so healing and repairing. I absolutely love it. 💜
As a person with super-super sensitive skin I will never try something that seems just an over-priced over-fragranced basic moisturiser. Luckily now we have so many options, both affordable and luxury for those who prefer high-end products. Also if I want to spend lots of money on skincare I would choose a brand that has some cutting-edge research and great ingredients, not just the hype.
I love La Mer I’m 43 I’ve been using it since I was 30 and I look like I’m in my 20s If you can try starting at an early age and definitely not after you cross 35 because you have already started getting fine lines
I had a major injury to my lower leg w an open wound that required plastic surgery n skin grafts. My plastic surgeon had a line of Avene products in his office for the healing phase of treatment, the one I used was an amazing product. There are different lines of products for different needs, I've been a customer since then.
You know it's going to be a good day when we get a video from Sheri!! I agree that the La Mer is way, way over priced for what it offers. I bought that tiny, little container way back when, just to be able to say I used it. I remember it was far too thick for my skin so I used it one time. I don't remember the fragrance but it's just an item in my past now. This Cicalfate sounds really good but even the emulsion would be too rich for my skin. I'll def keep it in mind, though. Enjoy your latest cruise and your balcony!
thats to bad you probably didnt know how to use it. you put a very small amount on the tips of your fingers on one hand and rub it into a melted form then you pat it into the skin do not rub or smear it on like the other creams. I promise you it will leave your skin hydrated smooth soft and looking amazing in an hour.
Hi Sheri ! I live in Europe and I love Avene. I am interested in watching other videos about their frequency free products ! I can we please have a link to those videos ? Many thanks
I'm going to have to wait till I pay off my credit card before I can order this but I love all your recommendations so I hope I can get the 25% off in a few weeks.
magic cream is nice and it could be La Mer dupe but it can irritate if your super sensitive. I just bought it on sale a Nordi this morning I like to carry it in my purse.
La Mer is batch created to a music/vibration sound that is supposedly very specific to the line. I don’t think people have done their research on WHY La Mer is special.
Hi Sheri. Love your channel! Was stoked to hear what the dupe is-I’ve been using Avene for years - including the spring water sprays-and love their range. Haven’t tried this one so will be now!😊
Thank you for this video! I have always wanted to splurge and try La Mer products but have been sad I couldn’t afford to; (ok-saying I’m sad is too strong. ☺️) I’m You’ve made me feel so much better that I have an affordable option to try!
omg I BEEN saying this was such a good dupe for la mer I used to love la mer but honestly the avene is so much better and actually more cosmetically elegant . 7% the price for 3oz
Hello my friend and Happy Sunday! I do love Avène no fragrance products. Just order more after viewing your video with the 25% off. Thank you and enjoy your cruise 🥰
Thanks for the recommendation! I just purchased this and the lip balm. I have a scar on my forehead from basal cell skin cancer and hoping it helps the appearance. I also have very dry skin. I love Alastin skin care but it's pricey as well.
I placed an order right away because I really need something for my skin barrier. Hope this helps! Thanks for this great tip! Hi from Sweden by the way... And I really have to ask...why are you on Cruises so often?
You are FLAWLESS! And I bet you will love it. Works for so many different things, not just on my face. I just used it on a cut and I swear it healed it overnight. It's like magic!💜
@@mom4life513 LOL well today I ate all veggies and a couple boiled eggs and then watermelon for a snack. but um yesterday I had pizza and a burger. I doubt you want me to do a what I eat in a day video. Some days I'm a hot mess 🤪
I go to the dermatologist once a month because of an autoimmune disease and the only products she ever told me to get are a great sunscreen , a tub of Laroche Posay Lipikar or Cerave Night Ointment , Cicalfate Soothing spray and prescription retin-A . Avène , Laroche Posay and Cerave are the only products on a shelf in her office. I often ask her if an expensive cream I bought is effective she always says that it’s not worth it.
That's good to know. I agree, no need to spend a ton to have great skincare. I haven't tried the Cicalfate spray yet but I ordered it during this sale so when I get back to the USA I will get to test it out. How do you like it?
I won’t use a creme that contains mineral oil, whether it is La Mer or Avene. But I rely on Avene thermal water spray after cleansing and any other time as well.
Use cornstarch for diaper rash. It's cheap, cheaper than Avene and it works! Just sprinkle it in a clean diaper and then over top of the baby's pelvic area when you've laid the baby in the diaper. If your baby is crying because of the pain of the diaper rash, this will stop within seconds of the diaper rash being coated in cornstarch. It works.
Hellooooo..I’m late to the party😩…your skin is gorggggggg!!!! So glowing and dewy🤌🏽.. will definitely give this a try..never understood the hype or price on La Mer🤷🏽♀️..thanks for the review..hope you had an amazing time on your cruise!!!!🙏🏽💖
Another RUclipsr recommended Avene for perioral dermatitis, I have been using it for 2 years and I love it. I need to get my water spray bottle now that summer is coming, Thank you for the review just applied it on my itch inflamed mosquito bite I didn't know I could apply it in bug bites. Thank you!
Thank you for the review of the cicalfate as I have been curious about that product As for the La Mer I was given a sample many years ago and was not impressed at all !!!
It's really an impressive product. It's definitely handy to keep around in case of any cuts or scrapes too. After filming this video, I walked by a metal thing sticking out of the bed on the cruise ship and scraped my leg and yikes did it hurt. So I put on my Cicalfate and literally the next day, the scrape was nearly healed. It's pretty bruised up but the skin barrier itself is nearly back to normal that fast. So impressed!
So good to see you Sheri! For some reason, RUclips dumped you off my subscriptions list. You wouldn't think a viewer would have to audit RUclips, but...I might have to retry Avene again; I tried the Toleriance facial lotion awhile back and it caused a rash. It might have been because of the scrumptious fragrance - a common irritant for my rosacea - so I'll be reading labels a lot more closely this time. But I know Shelby Wilson recommends the Avene cicalfate products too, with her baby's peaches-and-cream complexion, and you use quite a few actives on your lovely skin, so it's worth another try. Hope you're enjoying all your travels!
@@jeanetteh.9240Thank you! But I also have a cardiac condition that could be adversely affected by Spironolactone. I can't just jump into anything new without considering that first. I'll have to ask my cardiologist next week.
My skin is pretty sensitive to fragrances and a lot of other things as I cannot even do make ups but somehow I never had problems with la mer cream and I’ve used it for more than ten years. interesting to find out that it has a lot of fragrances. Also when applying the cream you need to make the cream melt a little bit with your fingers and apply thin transparent layer. Otherwise you end up using more with far less function..
Thank you so much for sharing all your wonderful wisdom! I've been learning so much from you. I started purchasing the Osmosis line from Leah about 1.5 years ago thanks to hearing about it from you! I've been using the StemCell, Rescue, Renew & Catalyst. I love the line, but feel like I haven't seen a noticeable improvement in my overall "inflammed" 52 year old skin. I do thing the Retin-A and sun damage from previous years took a toll on my sensitive skin! I was just about to repurchase the Rescue, but I wanted to ask you if you have something you've found to be much more reparative than the Osmosis Rescue for epidermal repair? I've seen a noticeable different in your skin these last few months, so I'm going to try and implement some of the things you've been recommending! But if you had one suggestion for me to remove/add in, what might that be? I really trust your advice -- since it's CLEARLY working on you!! Any suggestions you may have would be GREATLY appreciated! 🙏🏼 xoxo ♥
I love the Cicalfate cream. I didn’t realize they had it in a balm. I received a sample of their sunscreen and used it this morning. Do you use it also? I know you use DRMTLGY mostly. It feels great too. Their Tolerance control cream is another great product. Please let us know when they have another sale as I just restocked. Thanks Sheri! ❤
I excitedly bought LaMer years back thinking it would do magical things to my skin. I was woefully disappointed with it. I never even finished the jar.
@@Paradys8 Lol it's my fav scent wish they did make a perfume I'd wear it all the time I just love the smell it's funny how everyone's smeller is so different from each other but anyway to me it's a beautiful scent.🥺
Astral cream has the same main ingredients as la mer. £9 for 500ml. Also pond's cream is even better as it contains beeswax as they mimic our bodies natural moisturising factors. Heavily perfumed products aren't natural and dry skin out.
I purchased the Avenue Cicalfate Restorative Protective cream and I get mostly a watery liquid from it. It feels like a moisturizing liquid but I was expecting it to be a cream as you showed. I have tried shaking and massaging the tube and once or twice it has come out as a cream. Is this typical or did I get a faulty tube?
Keep it simple, use what you already have at home. Or if you're needing to buy something new, this just gives you an idea of what to look for if you already like Lamer but don't want to spend so much and don't want the irritating fragrance then hopefully this helps save you money. If I share 10 moisturizers or 10 sunscreens that I've tested and like over the years, you wouldn't "need" all of them (unless you also enjoy testing skincare). But you do want a moisturizer right? And you do want a sunscreen. So you just choose just one that might work best for YOUR skin. Sometimes it can be hard making that decision online and watching videos but when in doubt ask your Dermatologist to always be safe. Hope that helps. 💜
In the late 80s ,I was working at I.Magnin Stanford,as an MUA,and used to see and talk to Max Huber, the creator of La Mer,A wonderful man,who always talked about how he created it.He would do personal appearances there.Back then the size you are showing, went for $90.00.He also used to hand out generous samples.
Oh how neat. At least they haven't really done much of a price increase over the years. Golly some companies have doubled and tripled the price of their products since the 80's. Thanks for sharing Wendy.
LOL I even asked the lady at the counter if they had an even smaller and cheaper size. I couldn't believe this tiny thing cost so much! I know she was so annoyed with me LOL and then she tried to sell me even more Lamer products. But I politely said no thank you and then I asked for samples 🤣 She couldn't wait for me to walk away 🤪
Avene is fabulous. Yes! I have sensitive dry 46 year old skin. And I used a sample of two Avene made my skin amazing. I purchased the spring water. I was pleasantly surprised. It was like an instant moisturizer. I'm going deep sea fishing for 8 days straight and I will take that spray with me to spray my face after a whole day at sea for sure!
I love that cream and won’t be without it. However, I used it as a facial moisturizer for a few months and it dried my skin out over time. I switch ti Avene trixera moisturizer for very dry skin and LOVED it! Highly highly recommend

What most people do not know is the algae ingredient that they use in their products is so low on the ingredient list that you don’t get it’s full benefits. The ingredient list is very basic. Company has changed since it’s changed ownership years ago.
I used la mer before when I was having dry itchy skin, it did help but using long term, the potency is not what you expect. So I changed to less cheaper products and they worked as well. The reason I stopped buying la mer is because the cream separated from the oil.
Hello Grace, thank you for the recommendation. I will definitely look into that. I really didn’t care for Lamer I like ask you have you heard about this cream CLÉ DE PEAU BEAUTÉ Protective Fortifying Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 22 I know it’s expensive but I I recently heard about and I like to know what are your thoughts if you were able to test it or maybe you have something better and less expensive.😊
Thank you so much for doing this comparison. I don't blame you for not getting the larger pot of LaMer!!! You did well spending £100 !!! Now it is irritating your skin - what a shame, that was £100 wasted - ask for your money back, that is a lot of money !!! Drink plenty water too - it helps your skin 10 fold!!
Unpopular opinion from me as well but the Miracle Broth in the LaMer truly is!! It is everything everyone says it is IMO! If the cheap option works for you that is great but I am staying with the LaMer!!!
@@pinkformarie some people work harder and or organize very well their financials/expenses to still be able to treat themselves once in a while lol its not like they don’t feed their kids or decide not to pay their rent or mortgage 😂
Maybe all the fragrance added to La Mer is to cover the algae smell? I could see that irritating skin that’s sensitive to it. (Though I wouldn’t know because I was never willing to spend that much.)
I don’t know about lamer but avene cicalfate has literally saved my skin after 2 month of huge irritation from a high procentage of tretinoin gel. I tried all the products hyped online claiming to repair the skin including cicaplast baume which except giving me huge pimples did nothing at all! On my neck I struggled with that irritation for more than 3 months untill I I saw your video and I said Ok I’ll give it a try. And it was THE ONE. So cicalfate will stay with me forever cause is AMAZING! Plus it helps healing my huge pimples faster leaving my skin incredible. About the price I don’t understant really here in Europe is verry very cheap.
I haven't experienced such things as pore clogging or breakouts with avene cicalfate. As I mentioned in my post it was cicaplast baume B5 that gave me huge breakouts those nasty which takes so much time to go away. But never avene cicalfate. For me is literally a skin saver and I really have large pores with super oily skin. But is true I also use a salicylic toner from Paula's choice once or twice a week to keep my pores clear@@ChandaChanda-l6d
Crazy story... A lady I knew used creme de la mer as diaper rash cream. She had the huge potts that were a few grande back then. My parents are MDs and we lived in a "desperate housewives" type gated community. The ladies husband was an MD and it was their first child..🤓
That is just STUPID... And CRAZY at the same time...🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. Almost seems like a "just because " decision to have TUBS of LaMer at 1k dollars a pop hanging around to put on a baby's bottom....🙄 Actually its borderline IRRESPONSIBLE.....🙄🤦♀️
Wow I just noticed that I own this product!🎉 Hopefully it will help with the irritation under my eyes. I have been using the Peace Out retinol eye stick and unfortunately became irritated.

La Mer bodycreme is still unsurpassed for me, and i have tried everything. When i use that, my skin on leg and arms is never dry, always soft and so lovely. I would love to find a dupe for that one, but the pricetag is crazy!
This dupe you found is mosly spring water it seperates in the tube it doesnt hold a candle to La Mer in any way shape or form. Wish it did but no go for me.
Zinc Sulfate is a preservative and an irritant. It’s a chemical compound resulting from the interaction of zinc with sulfuric acid. There’s little research showing this to be beneficial to the skin. I have Rosacea so I’m very hesitant to use this. La Roche Posay’s Cicaplast Balm B5 has a better formula.

Both are located near the bottom of the tube and higher up on jars.
So nice of you to inform everyone!thank u so much!may you have a wonderful year!
Have a beautiful weekend everyone!
Guys, I love LaMer! I treat myself to the soft cream, maybe, once a year. As it is soooooo expensive. I also love the aroma.
I agree Avene products are superior for dry skin but no one talks about them. I've used them for years. They feel so luxurious on the skin.
Yes ..their milk cleanser is so indulgent 😊
How does anyone feel about beekmen milk drop??
That’s what the poor want to believe 😂
Hey i have a question does Avene cicaflate clogged pores or cause breakouts? Plz tell me i wanna buy this but am afraid
Even if I was extremely wealthy, I wouldn't buy a face moisturizer that costs over 500 dollars! That is insane, imho. Sheri, your skin looks so pretty! I hope you are enjoying your cruise to Europe. ❤❤
That’s right. That amount of money can buy a pretty decent digital piano.
@@tracyc5752 That amount could help a single mom make rent. That amount could feed 50 shelter pets for a month. That amount could sponsor several children with cancer to a fun summer camp. Humans, let’s spend our discretionary money in a way that blesses others.🤑
Nothing is worth that cost for a moisturizer in my opinion. Can’t wait to try your recommendation.
I agree with ya Stacy. But maybe this moisturizer magically washes laundry and does the dishes so maybe it's really worth it to some🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree a lot of marketing 😉
The thing that took my skin from being dry, dehydrated and tight to normal was squalane oil under my moisturizer. In one month. I now forget to moisturize my skin in the morning because it feels so nice, whether beforehand I would slather it with jojoba oil and thick oily creams and it wouldn't help.
I bought a squalane stick for a couple bucks and I SWEAR by it now. It took me from dry, flakey skin that I'd have to mist half way through the day to a normal skin type! Helped heal my skin when I over exfoliated in attempt to get rid of the flakes!
@@MaynardsSpaceship What stick did you buy?
I love Avene! Girl, you get me every time!! Love your content!! Happy cruising!! 💙💙
Hey Donna! Their Cicalfate line is sooooo good! I don't love all their products (some have fragrance I don't care for) but their fragrance free products are fabulous! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! 💜
I like fragrance-free skincare, free of the bad chemicals and more natural/herbal products
I will try this. I am a la mer user and remember when people said a nivea cream was a "dupe". I tried it--it was no where near as moisturizing
Yes Nivea is NOTHING like La Mer on fine lines I totally agree ! Nivea cream is greasy and does not plump and reduce fine lines like La Mer. I'm kind of tired of people saying Nivea is a dupe to be honest !
I agree as well, nothing like La Mer is out there.
I didn’t like Nivea, didn’t find it moisturizing. I use petroleum jelly and shea butter, heated and mixed in the microwave.
i agree I know its expensive but it lasts a long time I buy it on sale at costco 185 for the large jar lasts me 7 months and I dont want a dupe because I wont give up what this has proven to do for me. Think of it as the only cream you need save your face and spend or save your money on cleansers and makeup. @@honeybunch1143
nivea is definitely not a dupe although it does have many of the same skin care ingredients at as la mer. i did a video on this and came up with a pretty good dupe
Thanks for sharing. I hope that you're having a great time on your cruise.
I appreciate you being here with us !
Hi there Lena, we are thank you. I'm just trying not to eat like I'm going to the electric chair. Good thing I brought stretchy clothes 🤪 LOL
You are 100% right this cream is a game changer I would sooner have this cream than eat. lol
I bought Avene on your recommendation from your last video. Priceline in Australia have Avene products on sale at the moment.
If you don't already try sleeping on your back.
I use this cream on really chapped lips. It’s an amazing product. It heals the skin barrier and protects the skin from wind/cold/etc. ❤
May I ask how long you have been using La Mer?

Lol expensive chicken grease. That made me laugh out loud 🤣
I was just saying that very thing use it correctly or your not a good judge. I love it i would pay any amount.@@cleopatra72
Years ago a dermatologist told me that the most important things you can do for your skin are:
Don’t Smoke, Don’t get too much Sun, Eat Healthy, Stay Hydrated, Exercise, Get Adequate Sleep and above all, Choose Your Parents Wisely! 😂😂
He said a simple cleanser and moisturizer is sufficient, your skin is only going to absorb so much, if it was any more penetrable we’d drown every time we took a bath! 🤷🏼♀️
How can you choose your parents? 😂😂

Thank you, Sheri! Many of your recommendations have worked out really well for me. I will look for this product.
Hope you love it too Elizabeth! 💜
I absolutely love the Avene Cicalfate! My dermatologist gave me the product to use after my laser treatment and I’ve been using it ever since. Makes a great nighttime moisturizer and I love the way it feels on my skin, and my skin is still hydrated in the morning.
I LOVE LA MER!
Thanks for the dupe!! I’m always open to try a new moisturizer. I have some faves, but willing to give this a try! 😊
I am a La Mer lover
I've heard of them but never tried what do you suggest?? My expense brand that i absolutely love is Sunday Riley.
That’s a nice birthday gift.
I am a full Avene fan. Started 3 years ago and I am so very happy. I have used lamer and nothing happened. Apart from rubbing the product like mad.

@@ChandaChanda-l6dno, it doesn't break out skin, very good for oily acne prone skin...it has healing zinc in there...hope this helps! Good luck!
Earth harbor has a wonderful product with black sea weed. I love it and it's very reasonable.
Which product did you use?

I tried the le mar and it didn’t do anything for me, but I do like the way it smells. I use the magic cream from charlotte tilbury, it’s amazing
magic cream is nice and it could be La Mer dupe but it can irritate if your super sensitive. I just bought it on sale a Nordi this morning I like to carry it in my purse.
La Mer is batch created to a music/vibration sound that is supposedly very specific to the line. I don’t think people have done their research on WHY La Mer is special.
Thanks Sheri…. Going to buy some tomorrow. Enjoy your next cruise

I always have on hand the Avene thermal water. My derm recommends as well.
It works.

I have been using the Exuviance A.G.E LESS EVERYDAY moisturizer and like it.
Thank you for the review of the cicalfate as I have been curious about that product
As for the La Mer I was given a sample many years ago and was not impressed at all !!!
The prescription medication Spironolactone really helped my rosacea.
La Mer is an amazing product, super expensive for sure! It does have a miracle seaweed serum! I love La Mer!!!!!!!
I use Uriage cosmetics interchangeably with Avene. It is also a French brand that produces cosmetics based on thermal water.

Thank you so much for sharing all your wonderful wisdom! I've been learning so much from you. I started purchasing the Osmosis line from Leah about 1.5 years ago thanks to hearing about it from you! 🙏🏼 xoxo ♥

You recommend so many different products for the same facial issues that it's a bit overwhelming to know which product to use.

I will definitely look into that.
I really didn’t care for Lamer
I like ask you have you heard about this cream
CLÉ DE PEAU BEAUTÉ
Protective Fortifying Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 22
I know it’s expensive but I
I recently heard about and I like to know what are your thoughts if you were able to test it or maybe you have something better and less expensive.😊
LaMer has the most intoxicating scent tho😊
Great video.
Algenist is another brand that uses algae and they’re amazing
Unpopular opinion from me as well but the Miracle Broth in the LaMer truly is!! It is everything everyone says it is IMO! If the cheap option works for you that is great but I am staying with the LaMer!!!
I will chose to pay my rent and feed my children this month
I'm curious about the La Mer cream. What makes it so special? And what exactly does it do for the skin?
Hey i have a question does Avene cicaflate clogged pores or cause breakouts? Plz tell me
I haven't experienced such things as pore clogging or breakouts with avene cicalfate.
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
That is just STUPID... And CRAZY at the same time...🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. Almost seems like a "just because " decision to have TUBS of LaMer at 1k dollars a pop hanging around to put on a baby's bottom....🙄 Actually its borderline IRRESPONSIBLE.....🙄🤦♀️
Wow I just noticed that I own this product!🎉 Hopefully it will help with the irritation under my eyes. I have been using the Peace Out retinol eye stick and unfortunately became irritated.
I love Aveene i just wish they were cruelty free im on my last bottle of sunblock because it was the only one that didnt burn my eyes or irritate my skin im on the hunt for a cruelty free one i have no doubt that its goid i havent tried a product that i didnt love from them and yes i miss the water face mist. Thanks for sharing and hope all is going well on your cruise ❤
Their website says they do not test on animals 💜
@Graceful Beauty good to know thanks for sharing i didn't see their name on the cruelty free websites I just went cruelty free so im still new to it.
@@l.dollens8173 I always go directly to the company website in their FAQ and info section. I notice many of those cruelty free websites aren't always accurate or up to date. 💜
La Mer bodycreme is still unsurpassed for me, and i have tried everything. When i use that, my skin on leg and arms is never dry, always soft and so lovely. I would love to find a dupe for that one, but the pricetag is crazy!
Do you know what? My skin is always supple and soft and moisturized and I use cocoa butter. It cost me about three dollars for a big bottle.
This dupe you found is mosly spring water it seperates in the tube it doesnt hold a candle to La Mer in any way shape or form. Wish it did but no go for me.
Question, which Avene product do you use as Dailey moisturizer? Hope your cruise got better for you
Zinc Sulfate is a preservative and an irritant. It’s a chemical compound resulting from the interaction of zinc with sulfuric acid. There’s little research showing this to be beneficial to the skin. I have Rosacea so I’m very hesitant to use this. La Roche Posay’s Cicaplast Balm B5 has a better formula.
I found the prescription medication Spironolactone to be very helpful for my rosacea. I took it for about three years.
Thanks for pointing that out !
