I've been using the MX-30 for 3 months now and I am really happy about it. It fits my usage perfectly, which is a 60 km/day commuting, home recharging overnight. For anyone interested in the car, there is no way around the fact that it is a relatively short range commuter. If this does not fit Your usage, the car is just not designed for what You need. As a driver, it is really enjoyable. Which paradoxically can be a problem. Rationally, I have no issue with the range, given how I need to use the car. But emotionally I do have an issue with the range -- that I just want to drive it more!!!
ID3 - I have Hotwheels that are less plasticky and more insteresting to look at. Kona - Who made a car sandwich at the rear? Looks like to cars mashed together at the back and don't get me started on the class action suits to do with the batteries that Hyundai is apparently facing coming up This suits people who don't have to travel far and so far it seems to have Mazda's reliability all over it. Owners seem to agree.
I share with you my experience after 6 months driving a MX30, and not just test-driving it for a few hours, MX30 is absolutely a very gorgeous car, inside-out with outstanding finishing quality and very comfortable and pleasant to drive. BUT WHAT A SHAME!!! Technically as an EV, MX30 is useless! When the temperature drops to freezing point or even near, driving range on the highway drops to 110KM (140KM off highway) and worst is the charging time, it takes over 3 hours (in cold weather) to recharge the battery on a CCS 50KW/h charging station and not 45 minutes as announced by Mazda! You need to stop 3 hours at a fast charging station to be able to drive less than one hour!
If you're an average sized 5' 7" humanoid like me and your family is no taller than a 6 footer overall, then you will not have any problems with the Mazda MX-30. Really though, methinks this is for couples who don't drive to the ends of the earth. My existing car will do 640 miles max during summer, but I'm long past traveling hundreds of miles anywhere. I strictly commute 34 miles a day and apart from shopping or visiting the odd friend in the city, I really ain't going far anymore. Not even a 100 mile round trip. So this car is perfect for me as an EV upgrade from an old Prius Hybrid.
Have you been living under the rock? RX-8, Rolls Royce, Mini Clubman and millions of other cars from several decades ago have been using suicide doors, how the f is it weird?
It costs (Australia) more than a Tesla Model 3 SR+, has less than half the range, about half the performance... Granted the Mazda interior is a gem but as an electric car this is an embarrassment. Edit: Kudos on a great review, subbed.
Well done on Mazda for realising touch screens in cars with so many features put on them are dangerous.

3 hours charge on a 50kwh? I think you turned of the battery heater!
I see this comment everywhere
I'd be interested to hear what you have to say when the range extender arrives
It'll certainly fill that massive hole under the bonnet! - Cam
@@YesAutoUK apparently the 2l petrol lives under there for JDM cars
I just love this car! It has its flaws, but Mazda has dared to be different, and that's so refreshing in a world of bland and boring dullness.
how tall are you? I want to get an Idea for the seating position and back seat passenger room
I tried it with front seat set for me 6’2 and it’s just about ok in the back but tight.

Yep, I've owned three Mazda3s and I just wish Mazda had made an electric version with decent range.
How is that price difference possible? UK price is half that of a decent specTesla 3.
I'm still yet to find the differences with ,Prime line, Exclusive line and Makoto. Help please
