Thats what im putting it down to although i've tried reuploading the video twice now and each upload has the exact same issue but again the raws/edited version dont, at this point i have absolutely no idea what i can do to try and solve this issue.

i got to the end of the legendary hakiri and dood god had a common cosmic blade. got to the bottom of an apocalypse too and dood had a regular ass fist?? am i doing something wrong??
I'm a year late, but I'll answer in case other person have the same problem and read this comment section. You need to use Mr. Gency Exit on floor 99. Then you save and enter the item world until you find the legendary weapon. If you save on floor 100 it will lock the item god weapon, so it will not work

Can I also use a testament rare 40 common to search cosmic blade
they have to be male characters and not the female versions, and yes you can steal a cosmic blade inside a testament but its gonna be rare as hell.
Primalliquid Ty for fast response! Oh my all of them are female >o< Welp gotta restart again. This is actually first for me like delving the contents of the game, only played D1 and D2 for Psp just for the fun and gameplay.
I see so so other option is Rare and Rank 40 regardless if its weapon or not for much higher chance, correct?
basicly a testament is rank 34 (Ignore rarety thats a different mechanic) in disgaea 1 ranks didnt matter to much (This changes in new disgaea's) you can steal a rank 39 sword (Cosmic Sword) from a mob in the item world however it will be rare. you also dont have to start all over again? just make some new characters or reincarnate your current ones lol

You need a Male Brawler, Male Warrior, Ninja, Thief, and Scout all at lvl 200 at the same time.
Where do you see the “rank” for an item? Every time you say 40 i see it say 0. Maybe im looking at wrong part of item screen?
the 0 on my items is rarity, not rank. for rank you ether need to know the gear off by heart or look at the "record" npc and then count down the list, 1st fist is rank 1 for example, 2nd fist is rank 2 and so on so forth.

I have 50k stored on my Devine Majin.. at level 5k, I was able to handle Baal with 20x strongest enemies. I leveled up to 9999, a yoshi blade, and 3x Super Robot Suit maxed out.. and then a 5800 level thief lets me steal with 99% from prinny baal, and he's a cakewalk from there... Once I've stolen prinny suit and nemisis v2 from prinny baal he does less than 100k per hit on my Majin even with 20x stronger enemies... I'm also not running 255 weapon mastery, I'm on 109 mastery level, and I'm doing almost 2M damage on the Baal's per nightsever.

how to get cosmic gold disgaea 1
I know it's a late question, but I've been going through the item world with my rank 38 weapons, and when I reach floor 100 the item god will have the rank 39 weapon, but not legendary. When I gency out, save, then go back in he wont have that rank 39 weapon anymore. It'll just be a random weapon and never rank 39. Did I do something wrong? I've been trying back and forth for awhile now and nothing happens. I'm trying to get the rank 39 legendary gun to then get the rank 40. Can someone help?
In all older disgaea titles if you gency out on floor 100 it resets there weapons, what you need to do is gency out on floor 99 and save the game, then enter the item and check the IG2 weapon. If its not legendary that quit and reload your save. its not 100% chance for legendary on anything other than R40 gear.

@@NemoLax Primal was right. You have to go through the item world until room 99 then gency out. Save then go back in, go through 99 and get to 100. Once you're in room 100 if the item god is not holding a legendary item don't gency out! Just quit and reload the save. Rinse and repeat until you get the desired result. It took me awhile, but I finally got a Legendary God's Hand and immediately leveled it to 100 for that sweet Rank 40 Ultimus. Was able to get rank 39 staff and gun this way as well. Now I've got all rank 40 weapons except for Axe and Monster weapons.
DeadOnArrival45 so i had the day off work so i spammed it. Got my legendary Cosmic blade off a random. Got my yoshitsuna when i ran through the cosmic blade and got my 10mil trophy. Noe i just need to unlock etna mode

Keep reseting the fight until the one you steal is rarity 0
