    Vegetable Jowar Upma Recipe is a super healthy upma recipe made with sorghum pearls and Indian masalas. A great way to include millets in your diet. Serve it with chutney for either breakfast or even dinner.
    The Vegetable Jowar Upma Recipe is made from sorghum pearls that are stir-fried along with seasonal vegetables, and flavored with spices. Jowar is one of the five top cereal crops in the world rich in protein, iron, and fiber. Jowar also has great antioxidants properties and is also gluten-free, hence making this Jowar Vegetable Upma a great choice for gluten free diets.
    Did you know: Jowar is nutritionally superior to rice and wheat and it does not contain gluten and is hydrolyzed slowly making it an ideal food to diabetic and celiac patients. The consumption of Jowar has a great advantage in long-run.

    Dear Ma'am. .
    Lovely recipe.
    Although we do not get parboiled jowar here at my place, i tried the recipe woth normal jowar but the grains were very hard to chew.
    Suggestions from you are awaited. Please do reply.

      Thank you. Usually cooked jowar little harder than cooked rice. Follow the same method to cook jowar. Adjust the cooking time based on your preference and the specific variety of jowar you have😊

    Can we use any other millet instead of Jowar & follow the same procedure?

    • @bhusanur.cooking
      @bhusanur.cooking  9 месяцев назад +2

      Absolutely! Millets like bajra (pearl millet), foxtail millet, or even finger millet (ragi) can often be substituted for jowar in various recipes. While the taste and texture might differ slightly, the overall procedure and cooking method can usually remain the same. Adjustments might be needed in terms of cooking time or the amount of liquid used, as different millets absorb moisture differently. But as a general rule, you can try substituting millets fairly interchangeably in many recipes.

      @@bhusanur.cookingthanks for reply madam. Definitely will try . Did you get jowar from Patel's ?

    • @bhusanur.cooking
      @bhusanur.cooking  9 месяцев назад

      😊😊Usually, I buy it from Patel's. This time, I used fresh stone-ground flour from India that my mom brought while visiting us.

    What is 'parboiled' jowar? Do we even get it at stores?

      @bhusanur.cooking  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, here I found it at the Indian store. Use any Jowar which is available in your state.
