Wish this video was done 4 years ago for my kids. Now I am thinking of upgrading the car seats to reclining ones and with improvised isofix, i can do this now!! Thank you for this helpful video!!
Didn’t know you could get a retro-fit kit for iso-fix so many thanks for bringing that to my attention, and a video to demonstrate how to fit, brilliant !
Thank you still haven't done it yet but I'm planning it out and working on clearing out my trunk...now that my sons 8 years old it's a bit late now and he's acually in a booster seat now. But he's proof that the old school seat belt strapped through the carseat works just fine too. Just sucks cus I paid like an extra 60$ for my carseat to have the isofix quick release latch and the one without it was so much cheaper but identical. I never even used the isofix, just some reason thought that if it coats more than it must be better ot safer and I've come to learn the hard way that's not completely true
Just wondering how confident you’d be in a collision with this? I’m trying to decide between forking out a small fortune for replacement seats with Isofix or going down this route?! I can see the sturdiness when you try moving it by hand but just wonder how it would fair between 30-70mph. Do you know what kind of testing has been done with them? Does it have some kind of approval?
This is where a bit of common sense comes in. You just have to look at it and make your mind up whether it is strong enough or not. Personally I am happy that it is strong enough and probably as good as any normal fitted isofix, especially with the extra attachment screws to the seat metal. I do not see any tests or approval, which would not be possible as each car is different.
Thanks. Buying links are in the video description section, hopefully they still wotk. Copied here: The ISOFIX brackets can be bought on: Amazon (most countries): amzn.to/3qaqSnc Amazon Uk specifically: amzn.to/3QhGlwg Ebay UK: ebay.us/ho71AM Ebay USA: ebay.us/jzCxLl

Great video. Do you know if this would work on a 2009 hyunday tucson? They seem to have plastic backing to the back seats.
Thanks, not sure but their frame is probably metal. Youu will have to make your own mind up.

Hi, would this work in the front seat? Nissan micra
Thanks
Probably, look at your seat, however I think child seats should be in the rear.
Are they always the same width apart?
Yes
