Thank you! This muscle has been killing me for years. I’ve never been able to figure out how to fix it. I have watched probably hundreds of videos like yours… However, your advice has been the ONLY advice that has worked! I ended up buying that same tai chi ball & it TOTALLY makes a difference!:-) I’ve never seen a ball like that! I tried the spiky lacrosse balls, I’ve tried lacrosse balls, tennis balls, even golf balls! I’m so thankful🙏👏👍

Every time I have pain in my upper back it is because of tight neck muscles. Scalenes can be real trouble makers - even mimicking nerve problems. This was treated by fysio and I got pain free. However sometimes I got problems with the levator too and stretches and muscle release works too. Your videos are of great help. Good luck and thanks from the Netherlands.

@@michellejohnston7535 I'm interested too! Neck pain and radicular pain in shoulders, traps and down arms. Looking forward to your results. Praying they resolve your issue (pain).

@@nrp5791 thanks so much. I think it’s a 3 part task. Hydration, stretching, and massage.
I have a foam roller and it really helps me. Try yoga, the heart position is really helpful for my traps.

@@michellejohnston7535 I have done, it feels like, it all. Chiropractor, physical therapy (different kinds) acupuncture, yoga, foam rolling and using the cervical Denneroll (neck wedge) to restore cervical lordosis. All has greatly helped in some way, just don't know how or by how much. Water, stretching and yoga are good I agree but finding a solution is beyond difficult. Recently had some education in trigger point/muscle knot release. It works but they return quickly compressing nerves and causing discomfort/pain. Looking into dry needling next. If this tai chai ball works I will add it in hopes of stopping this chronic syndrome.

I was cliff jumping and jumped off a 60 ft tree about 4 months ago and I still haven’t healed my arm was ripped out by the force of the water Because I didn’t tuck my arm in and I can’t hit chest or shoulders and I’m concerned it really sucks and makes me depressed

Could it also be your levator is weak esp w/ppl w/forward head posture? I believe my levator is also is causing my c1-c4 (not sure which) to be unstable which is causing imbalance, almost dizzy feeling. My pt thought I have elevated first rib, but all she does is massage the area. Would it make sense to stretch and then strengthen it or would that be counterproductive? Thank you for your time.

You can add in some light strengthening exercises. Discuss it with your therapist. Good luck!

Can't hurt to go in just for an evaluation and see what they have to say. They may be able to help you.

Fascial release work/soft tissue therapy is not a "quick fix". You can't just do it once and expect that months (or often years) of fascial adhesions to just disappear. This type of work has to be performed consistently over several weeks. Hope your injury heals quickly!
