Just got this yesterday on sale and I am impressed so far! I love the pixel art, orchestrated music, and dark, mysterious atmosphere. I'm new to the Soulslike genre so an easier game is certainly appreciated. (Getting my butt kicked in Mortal Shell...)
Hey just wanted to say that I really appreciate channels like yours that shine light on some lesserknown indie games since those are the ones I'm mostly interested in but can never seem to find any info about online. Keep up the good work man u've earned yourself a new sub
Thanks Blah, yea the game is very enjoyable, I covered the main issues you need to be aware of, namely inventory and quest direction, other than that it's pretty solid bar a few enemy AI hiccups but you can choose not to cheese them if you're not into seeking out lame tactics like me haha.
The last patch changed so many things for the better like permanently increasing ammo after bosses. If you have the time you should definitely revisit Morbid T7A. The only change I don't totally agree with is run stamina being so low now but everything else made Morbid into the game I thought I was originally buying.
If I find the time I'm going to try revisit some games I previously reviews, been a bit tough lately with my work pattern changing but I'll see what I can do
@@thekittenthatwantschicken8018 My 1st playthrough took around 11hrs but I'm a really slow gamer. I like to see & do everything more than once, just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Since I don't use strategy guides or online tips until I've completed a game it takes me longer than most. For someone not interested in doing absolutely everything it should take a few hours less than my 11.
Just finished it and I enjoyed the ride very much. Some find the fights a bit dull by its simplicity and I can understand why, but for me, almost every encounters was tense and did not had second thought about it while playing. The ambiant was there and it was graphically perfect. I got lost at some point, but was my fault, not the game even though it is a bit enigmatic in some ways. MORBID got a definitive place in my physical collection.
I think this could use a crafting system to use lesser weapons as ingredients and a hardcore mode were if you die it's over Still looks pretty good though
I thought that there would be a way to break down weapons and store materials simply due to the ammount of things I was picking up. I agree some sort of crafting would have been cool.
On sale now for £16 and I was going to get the physical version for £25 just because I love the box art but because it's like under £10 am completely stuck lol
This was a good game. One thing that got on my nerves though was that you couldn't just look at the map or the quests without being at a shrine. Like if you have a map on you, you should be able to look at it
Yea I thought it was alright it Thomas, it was a pretty tough one and a little rough around the edges with some of its mechanics, but a decent enough game and I liked the visual style.
I boght signature collectors edition 44 pounds looks amazing.Rare collectable coin, small poster of the acolyte, original cd plus the game in big luxury boc and two runes as badges.Only 2000 released copies....
Perhaps the ability to recycle unused items would have been more appealing and easier to program, but what do I know. I have this game, and Just like Hades, I find it to similar to so many other games. Nice Review and editing on this one.
Yea, you can get some swords from chests which respawn which would have opened up issues I think but there are plenty of opportunities to expand on both the game and storyline if they make a sequel. I think it's hard sometimes building on previous titles but doing something unique, I really enjoyed Hades though. Thanks Michelle glad you liked it 😊
Honestly, it's right above the shovelware stamp of approval for me. The toad boss was the only one that gave me any trouble at all, until I figured out to use a full lightning mechanical fist against it. The same weapon made quick work of the final boss that kept refusing to die. There's absolutely no point in fighting regular enemies most of the time, so you just run past them. In DS every enemy has a place, but here they're just put seemingly at random with no rhime nor reason. The level design in general is a hot mess. The blessings mechanic was a nice touch, an the runes were welcome too, albeit being done far better in Diablo 2 now over 20 years ago. All in all, it's a waste of time. Play Salt & Sanctuary instead.
@@SwitchStars thats what I plan on doing if I get it. Just blast some Slayer 🤘 but idk bout dat inventory system or the borked ai or getting lost. Seems like a pretty spoopy place to be lost in 😂

I really like your videos, so I hope you will take my complaint as coming from a good, non-snarky place. As someone considering buying this game, I wish I hadn’t been told a way to exploit the game’s ai. I understand your feeling that it needed to be mentioned in your review, but I wish it had been mentioned more obliquely. IE: I realized there was a way to exploit the AI but I won’t say exactly what it is.
Hey Bill, thanks for the feedback, tbh that was more of an explanation of how the AI of enemies wasn't great the clips I showed happened when I wasn't even trying to exploit them they just got stuck like that. You of course don't have to use the exploit but you will likely find it happening unintentionally at points as I did.
@@SwitchStars Honestly I will take a cheese method if its a game involving soulslike mechanics. Especially since this game will just tide me over until cyberpunk 2077 releases next week. Can morbid be done in a week?
The only real soulslike mechanics I found were the boss fights having specific attack patterns to them and the inclusion of a stamina bar, other than that there's nothing really relatable. And yes a week is plenty of time.
I would but I really couldn't be assed with the half's, I could do a rating system out of 10 or out of 100 and people would still have some sort of complaint 😂 to me its all pretty arbitrary, I could rate a game 5 stars but someone else could play it and hate it, it's all a matter of opinion and people's opinions need to align with mine for my ratings to be of value which is why I try to pack a lot of details into the reviews themselves.
Hehe I agree, some people value scores though. I've always said my ratings mean nothing really, I prefer people to make decisions on what they see in the reviews instead of my personal opinions.
@@Ponaru well if this were aggregated on metacritic a half point is faily big. It'd go from a 60 to a 70. A 70 is a pretty decent game and a 60 is just meh. From the stuff he says about the game he sounds like he likes it and that its better than meh. I agree that scores should be considered part of the review after you listen or read what the reviewer has to say but also think a 5 star rating system, with only whole numbers and no halves or quarters, doesn't give you room to differentiate between other games. I know you shouldn't really consider scores between games but when you only have 5 different scores and someone sees a game rated a 3 and in the review it sounds like they don't care about the game and that its just ok and nothing special and then see a 3 review like this where it seems like he does like it and that he had fun playing it, the only thing you could wonder is how the hell did they get the same score. In my opinion that's why its better to either not give a score or give it out of 100 or out of 10 with tenths or at a minimum quarters and halves. It just gives you a wider range. It sounds like from what he said and replied to you with that he doesn't care about the score and its more an afterthought anyway so he might as well not even put one. He is right people will always have a problem with a score a reviewer gives but in this instance it seems his score doesn't match the actual review he gave. But I guess that's subjective and just how I see a 3 and what I got of how he thinks of this game.

you can't attack immediately after a dodge roll, seems like a stupid design decision. also I find the character's movement clunky, her moving speed does not match the animation
Yea Carlos, think there is a slight delay but have you confirmed that it's isn't because you're out of stamina? I had that issue at the start and didn't realise. Yea she isn't the fastest at moving I didn't notice the animation though.
@@SwitchStars there is still plenty of green bar left. i think it's just how the game wants the character to move, and this also applies to the monsters, they all move slightly slower than their animation suggests. I'll have to get some get used to
