Peter's "In Your Eyes" Secret World Live is a 10 minute unbelievable vibe with maybe 10 or 12 musicians, a lot of African rhythms, and his and everyone else's voices are perfect. It'll be one your favorite videos you've done. Any time I feel down, I turn on that video, and everything is made beautiful and happy again. You'll LOVE it!

Every time I swear, the first time listeners, right off start boppin and jamming,..but of course, this song slams,..you can't help it, it was our first reaction, while we were looking at this crazy imaginative video,..Peter is just a wealth of talent,..ohh and the light suit at the end, when I first saw this reminded me of a movie with Robert Redford The Electric Horseman,..he's wearing a outfit with lights all over it,..do keep checking out Peter's music,..Down To Earth, from WALL-E movie,..Digging in The Dirt, Secret World, Don't Give Up, Shock The Monkey, first video I saw of him, at the time didn't realize he use to be with Genesis, didn't get hooked on them until Phil Collins had become lead singer, after Peter left, and Shock The Monkey was like during the very, very first beginnings of MTV,..do enjoy,..Godspeed, Peace ✌

The whole video is a sexual metaphor. When it first came out I was about 9 or 10 so I really did not get it. Then when I was older I figured it out. He has some really good stuff out there. The video was really breaking barriers for it's time. Thanks for the reaction! Have a great day.

This is my most favourite video of all time. PG is one of my favourite artists too and for me, his peak was his solo career from the period mid-80s to mid-90s, including, of course, this classic.
I love how the video symbolically begins and ends with depicting the start and end of life (fertilisation and embryo growth, then later PG sitting down in the chair to 'sleep' and then 'rising up' into the stars and waving goodbye), and continues the motif of reproduction and innuendo/imagery throughout, but also has hilarious visuals like the chicken dance, the vegetable face, and so on!
Also, it was a clever choice to use stop motion and claymation rather than the CGI of the time (as used, for example, in Dire Straits' "Money For Nothing" which was only a year before this song, but looks so dated in comparison). As a result, the only bit that looks dated is the section where PG and the dancing girls/crowd are, with clothes and hairstyles clearly of the 80s.
PG's solo career is worth a deep-dive for a lot of great tracks and creative videos, including "Shock The Monkey", "Games Without Frontiers", "Big Time", "Steam" and "Digging In The Dirt". He also did great duets with Kate Bush ("Don't Give Up") and Sinead O'Connor ("Blood Of Eden").
If you find you like his voice and work, his live performances are also a must. The whole Secret World Live tour from the early 1990s is brilliant and my personal favourite. The entire crew look like they had such a great time, the (then) new singer Paula Cole was fantastic as the female lead on some iconic PG songs in place of Kate Bush and Sinead O'Connor, and as a backing singer too.
PG is one of my favourite artists for his lyrical and musical genius and the creativity of many of his video ("Sledgehammer" being one of the best IMO)
The video was an early gig for Aardman Animation (Wallace & Gromit).
Gabriel got the Memphis Horns in to do all the brass.

This was the most played video on MTV, not sure if it still is? I've loved this song since the day it was released, I've only recently known what the lyrics are about ...They are about MAKING LOVE lol , I never knew! I loved watching your facial expressions as much as the video itself , and another winning performance by yourself!!!

MTV videos were really hitting they stride around this time...ya boys Dire Straights, really put down a good blue print a couple years earlier with "Money for nothing," and put the pop world more or less on notice, and then the bar kept getting put up hire. Shoot, things more or less went that direction even throughout the 90's when it was a big deal and a lot of hype when videos dropped. Was dope to see iron sharpen iron, with talent and entertainment.

If I remember correctly, this was Video of the year, or at least a nominee. I didn't pay that much attention to the awards, well still don't lol.
Between the highly praised video effects, the music, and Peter's vocals, it's easy to miss the lyrics and what he's actually singing about in this song. It's highly sexual, almost to the point of being graphic a couple of times. Very imaginative, and entertaining video!
