I reccomend his album from this year "After the Magic" great album with unique atmosphere and also Live album "After the Night" with some of the best live performances i've heard in a long time like Into an Endless Night - incredible stuff, I think you've should check it out if you liked that one, great reaction as always cheers!!
There are a lot of references to the movie "All about Lily Chou Chou" in this album, starting with the cover and ending with the text. Self-titled song is related to one of the characters in the film - Hoshino, whose nickname on social networks was the Blue Cat I'm very glad that u listened to this album, ur reactions are my favorite so far. Keep going!
For that last song, Parannoul himself said that it could be interpreted in 2 ways. Either as a good ending (The narrator turning their life around for the better and moving on) or a bad ending (The narrator comitting suicide). It's really up to the listener as to how the album ends. I'd defo reccomend checking out After The Magic, which is the album he released after this album. The lyrics are a lot more uplifting than on To See The Next Part Of The Dream and overall I'd say it goes for a more eclectic and slightly artsier sound if that intrests you.

the title track's meaning has to do with his first album "Let's Walk on the Path of a Blue Cat" in which a blue cat visits him in a dream. So this track is To See the Next Part of the Dream (the next part of the dream in the first album) That 1st album is all instrumental though, so if you want to keep reacting to him I recommend After the Magic (3rd album) (and the best album of all time)
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE SHOEGAZE/EMO ALBUM. ONE OF MY TOP 5 OF ALL TIME. I LOVE THIS ALBUM. ITS THE PERFECT TEENAGE ANGST ALBUM ABOUT BEING A PATHETIC LOSER. I'd recommend the EP "WEATHERGLOW" next! its a great and short 25~ minute minialbum made in collaboration by weatherday and asian glow (another korean diy emo artist that has also worked with parannoul). Its not long but all the tracks are amazing, i really encourage you to put it on your list to react to eventually!
also Parannouls album that came out this year "After the magic" strips back a lot of the noisy elements and is at times a full blown Art rock/Dream pop album, i also recomend that, its REALLY beautiful
I’ve listened to this album like a million times and for some reason I never thought to check out the lyrics (I think I’m used to shoegaze lyrics not really mattering that much lol), but after watching this video I cannot believe how sad they are omfg. Luckily it seems like Parannoul is in a MUCH better place now, they’ve collaborated with a lot of other artists (originally after this album came out they were very insecure about their music) and their latest album After the Magic comes off as a lot more optimistic (btw please listen to that album next it’s like, the best)
12:05 Im so happy you copped how connected Analog Sentimentalism and White Ceiling were lmao I took me a whilr but when I did get it it just hit me bro. Really love your reactions and how detailed you are and your more chill vibe subbing for that
i thought parannoul was a band the first time i heard this album but the fact that it's just one dude and everything was done on a computer is insane. really hoping you check out after the magic at some point, parannoul's growth as an artist (and as a person) on that album is very moving
finallyy been waiting for this reaction forever literally one of my favorite albums of all time and white ceiling is one of my fav songs of all time such good replay value fr!
I was obsessed with this album when it came out. Shit is amazing Also here r sum recs Title Fight - Floral Green Alex G - DSU Red House Painters - Down Colorful Hill Cap’n Jazz - Analphabetapothology Circa Survive - Juturna Also, do you plan on ever doing streams?
it's worth noting that this guy was relatively unknown before this album dropped, for him to write such amazing music with such a small audience is genuinely inspirational.
Wow, great that youre listen to parannoul! Another great artist is Jim O'Rourke. His live album "live at japan 2002.9.16" is incredible!! You definitely have to check it out!
If ur liking this newer shoegaze sound then you GOTTA listen to the new Jane Remover album. it’s so unbelievably slept on, unique, & one of the best albums of 2023 oh & you said this was the most depressing shoegaze album you’ve heard.. might not be after Jane’s😭
Good to see more people enjoy this album. Pls give his other stuff a chance too! After the magic, Paraglow, after the night. Parannoul is one of the best
Is an interesting evolution to see this sound and lyricism compared to his later work in “After the Magic” my 2nd place for AOTY, just below the Jane record.
Damn forgot how great this album is, I'd love to see a review of Women - Public Strain, its not shoegaze but its got such a unique sound, easily one of my favs, been having it on repeat this past year.
U need to react to the brave little abacus!!! It have that youth feeling like parannoul but they were from Massachusetts. They have two albums with long ass songs like this and it has that raw feeling and not a very pristine production even though the ideas implemented on those records are fantastic. I'd recommend any of their two albums, but my personal favourite is their first, even if their second is their most known
Please do a reaction/review of Cursive's the ugly organ smags. I believe it will be a lot of fun for you and us. Thanks for picking so many great albums so far...you and your audience are helping me rediscover my love of music.
Amazing album. Dude, I just came across your channel a few days ago and have been consistently watching. You deserve a lot of love as your reactions are extremely genuine...as well as your honest opinions. If I was to recommend an album or two it would be Music has the right to children by Boards Of Canada and Happy songs for happy people by Mogwai. Keep it real bro. Hope the channel keeps growing and growing
Love me some parannoul, good choice Smarachnophobia! You gotta hear Parannoul’s newest album and/or the live album, ppl are saying the live album is the modern day fishmans album 98.12.28 and it would be cool to see what you think
At some point you gotta do Transatlanticism by Death Cab For Cutie. A leap for the modern concept album and for Midwest emo/indie rock in the early 2000s. Lyrics are unmatched
Amazing video as always, man. I usually agree with almost everything you say in your videos. An album i really wanna recommend is Lift to Experience- the Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads.
Please do a Bob Dylan record! Start with either bringing it all back home or highway 61 revisited, his 2 most accessible albums. Other suggestions that would be great would be rain dogs by tom waits, or the swans are dead live album by swans, which has absolutely the best material they've ever done.
this is great, glad you're reacting to this album! i think you would enjoy Andy Shauf - The Bearer of Bad News or Aldous Harding - Designer; both very unique voices i'd love to see a reaction/review to
Hey man, i follow you here from Brazil, I would really like to see you reacting to a Brazilian album, if you are interested here are two recommendations: - "Construção - Chico Buarque" (the most classic and complex Brazilian album, was made in the 70s, a time when we Brazilians lived under an authoritarian system of dictatorship, some artists, like chico buarque, made albums and inserted criticism in some tracks, some more explicit and others more restrained, especially because it was a time when anyone who was against the system was arrested and tortured, there is a good video in English talking about this [ How Brazil's Music Hid Protest Inside Harmony by Charles Cornell ] ) - The other recommendation is the album "Me Chama de Gato que Eu Sou Sua - Ana Frango Elétrico" is the best brazilian album of this year, a kind of modern funk ( fantano give it a 8/10 but in my opinion, is a 9/10 ) Anyway, keep making these videos, I end up discovering a lot of gems here, your reactions are very genuine.
pleasee listen to after the night by parannoul 🙏 literally just his 98.12.28, insane live album where he just does every song better than the studio version, and it ends with a stupidly long but incredible song
Thanks for reacting to this album! A recommendation I have is Finally We Are No One by Mum is a great soothing indietronica album. give it a listen. Also react to Get to Heaven by Everything Everything PLEASE
