Blue Album is certainly fire. What really the host can't relate to in regards to Pinkerton, the Blue Album singles were so overplayed on MTV and radio that is was refreshing how Pinkerton sounded. That's for the people who liked Pinkerton because it didn't sell like the Blue Album...it became more of a cult classic

Recomendation alert from me - it's a bit of a special one, since I don't think any reactors I can think of have covered it: The Holy Bible by the Manic Street Preachers. They're a rock band from the UK, and while they're really popular over here for their later stuff they're pretty unknown in the US. The Holy Bible is their third record, released in 1994 (same year as Weezer!) and it's gone down in history as one of the darkest albums ever made. Their guitarist, Richie Edwards, wrote the lyrics for it, and he was going through some MAJOR shit at the time. The music is insanely catchy and anthemic, and because of the way it's sung you won't pick up on what the singer's saying at first, but if you listen while reading the lyrics it gets majorly bleak. In the era of Oasis and Blur, it was VERY different. A few months after the album came out, Richie Edwards vanished, never to be seen ever again. People often compare it to Pinkerton - a big rock band's darkest and most musically visceral album, not anything like what they did before or since. It's one of the best things ever IMO.

I loved this album at my first listen. So experimental and rich in sound mixing idm and rock. Idk albums like this are so otherworldly and psychadelic make me love music so much. Try Magdalene by Fka Twigs if u like experimental sounds

Dunno if remember me. But again, u react to this and especially the broken social scene one wich is mindblowing and i always wanted somebody to do a full reaction to it. Im 30 and listened to that album since i was 18. But yo @Smags u are the goat music reactor for a reason. I dont do these recommendations a lot, only commented 3 times on ur channel. But i really think u should listen to Panda Bears "Person Pitch". To give some slight context. This is a classic album of the 2000s, easily imo stand together with daft punk discovery as the most important and influential sample based albums of the last 20 years. Add avalanches to that list too wich u have listened to. And Person pitch is of the same quality. The artist is part of the well known collective, surely u have heard of em, animal collective. And in this influential group, some members made solo project. Person Pitch is in contention to be the best work out off all of their creations. Really crucial album in the indie 'zeitgeist'.
