Based on what you’re saying, it appears to me that Robert Simmons technique would be easier to master across the board. Lock and lean seems to lend itself more towards people who may already be experienced riders. This is not to say that Robert Simmons course is more of a beginners course, because that is not true. What I am saying is Robert Simmons class seems to be much easier to apply the principles and quicker to pick up. His techniques have been a tremendous help to me and I was able to become proficient with them very quickly and gain confidence riding my bike. I appreciate the comparisons.

@Riding and Wrenching. ABSOLUTELY take them both and then some. BTBOYM RLP and many others will get you in the basics with someone who can watch you and point out things to work on. All.of these are at a price point. L&L is a longer class which is physically and mentally demanding. Tight patterns. Then you can go to other classes as well as your own practice time which is just as important for a diminishing skill.

I will say one thing about BTB....he talks too damn much. I'm not trolling and not trying to be mean .I'm being honest. He goes on and on and on. He means well, but it's a terrible practice. One thing I learned as a certified technology instructor is keep it short. As a MSF RiderCoach I can tell you we are specifically instructed to NOT do that. It's called "Over-Coaching" and classified as a Type 1 error. Students begin checking out when you talk too much. We keep it extremely brief. Instructions are pretty much kept to under 2 minutes and then there is a riding demonstration and that's it.

Everyone learns differently and some people learn better in the environment that you seem to think is wrong. If folks are leaving with more confidence and skill, in addition to the desire to keep practicing and continue getting better, then the mission is accomplished.

Fantastic comparison Cue. I would like to put the wing through both courses. I've had motor training earlier in my career but on an HD. O'm still mastering the wing and feel I have a complete understanding of how it handles compared to the HD. Again excellent comparison.

Either class is good depending on your skills. I started off taking classes with Robert Simmons. I was referred to Lock and Lean by a motor officer (who also trains with Robert).

Keep practicing, but don't be afraid of drops. It's going to happen. If you're lucky, it will happen when you're in a parking lot and not on the street.

Learning to ride is more important than accessories. Whichever trainer that you can relate to best is the one that you should follow. Rob does well because he knows what he's talking about and has a great personality
