There was a comic where he fought quicksilver, it was ridiculously 1 sided with quicksilver only landing one hit, that being a cheap shot when flash wasn't paying attention

This is oddly heartwarming. Marvel had enough respect for the Flash to allow this cameo AND let him win. Hits even harder with the context of Barry "dying" over in the DC verse.
It's great when even competitors can take the time to respect one another.
At the end of the day writers, artist and editors are all comicbook nerds
they don't see themselves as competitors, hell they use to pitch ideas back and forth over games of golf

So, this Flash that died saving the universe from the Anti-monitor suddenly reappears in another universe. He then runs Barry runs, and overtakes everyone in this great speed race. What a story!😊

Marvel and DC actually alluded to some kind of upcoming crossover in their comics a couple years ago but I’m not sure what’s going on with that anymore

I read the comic that the race was in and had no idea that was a Flash tribute until about a year ago. I had always wondered what Marvel did with that character.

That comic is from 1994 and Barry Allen returns to DC in 2009.
The fact that he just beat every marvel speedster with no problem and it’s not even a dc comic book
Crisis on infinite earths was the most famous event during that time and flash was one of the most famous heroes DC had, this is probably Marvel's way of paying a homage to him

Mark Gruenwald did a very classy homage to Flash in those issues. Kudos to him.
If I remember correctly, Mark Gruenwald returned "Buried Alien" to his own universe in a similar fashion.

I really miss when the competing comic books were honestly friends with each other. This type of sending off party for One of your rivals favorite comic book heroes is beautiful. I think this storyline is something that proves that you can have competition even friendly versions of it and still like your competition's work nowadays don't want to share the limelight and they hope that their competitors become crushed instead of working together to make the community even better than it was
Marvel and DC still have that friendly competition it's just fans make it look like it can only be one or the other.

@@shyoss2671 when did I say that? all I said is that I love how Stan Lee was also a DC fan, I'm sure many other people in Marvel are also DC fans, but there will always be biased fans in the Marvel community. Also Stan Lee was well known for being respectful and open minded

When Flash (Wally West) ended up in the Marvel universe he couldnt use his speed since the speedforce did not exist in the Marvel universe eventually he had a device strapped on to his chest that would let him access the speedforce from the DCU
That was the second time in 2004. The first time in 1996 the Speed Force worked just fine for Wally the whole time.

People at DC and Marvel, despite the corporate competition, both/either have worked for the other company at some point in their careers and/or have friends over at the competition. So there was a genuine appreciation and respect for the other company’s comics more often than not.
It would’ve been phenomenal if “Buried Alien” came back and referenced Flashpoint and any notable current Flash comics.
Being rivals should inspire and create respect for each other. No need to be enemies. You can even honor someone who is not a member of your team. Great message told here - should be told more often.

The only character (s) faster are other flashes or the runner, the being who held the race. He is marvels abstract for the concept of speed itself essentially. He can travel any distance at what speed he sees fit to complete that trip in what ever amount of time needed to be there when he needs to be including multiple places at one time.
No one in marvel is more faster than flash.

How the flash died was well written that it's a story so good that I'm sure it inspired many at Marvel and other comic creators all over.
DC comics actually did follow up on this! The Marvel Universe apparently exists inside the speed force. Kid Flash referenced going there when he was trapped in the speed force for a while.
