I dont care what anyone says i was made for loving you is a banger!
Definitely True!
Damn near EVERY kiss song is.
I been a fan sense 1973
Kiss fans back then did not like the song at first then it became number
Absolutely!
For all the slack they take for this song, it kicks ass live still to this day!
@Len Kutchma there are some bands that can pull off getting outside of their comfort zone because they have the balls, talent and professionalism to do so but there are other bands that I prefer they stay in their lanes.
@Len Kutchma I think kiss is one the bands that can wear their nostalgia factor proudly out in the open and still revamp their feel and sound any time they feel like it and still be authentic to themselves and their fans.
This was definite best song from the solo albums
You should hear the version with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. The horns in the background are incredible 😱.
"Why is KISS playing DISCO?" That's exactly what the KISS Army was asking back in the day. LOL
Because Paul Stanley had done a mountain of coke, and a bevy of hot babes in Club 52 and he was focused like a laser on having a song played there... In a nut shell
I was in the kiss army... personally, I have never thought this was disco.. it definitely has some disco influence, I guess, but the song is more rock... and sooooo many people connect with this song today... it's kind of its own sound... genius, if you ask me...
@@chrissiegle1065 I had the 45 record of this song with Hard Times on the B-side. I always loved the song, but I can understand how other die-hards would not like it at the time.
Thinking of $$$ at the time.
Why? Because they could! Lol
Unpopular but true opinion: I Was Made For Loving You is one of their best tracks. Paul's voice has rarely sounded better and Gene's driving bass is absolutely killer.
Thank you! This song is amazing!
And Ace's driving guitar
FYI Paul plays bass on this song, as he often did on his tracks during this time.
@@garytrew2766 Paul played all the guitar parts on the track, including the solo. By this time he was handling all the solos on songs he wrote.
@@LinkRocks that's cool , I think I heard that on his version of how they made the records.
I don't care what anyone says about this song, it's bad ass. The best and all of Paul, dam he's fine..the music🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💖💖💖💖💖
I love Paul. He's awesome here. I am a bigger fan of Paul and Ace than Gene, but Gene is definitely bad ass and a powerhouse for sure.
This song live with the Melbourne symphony orchestra is actually incredible!
No one ever reacts to their song Beth. It would REALLY surprise you.
MRod ruclips.net/video/qxV6vxuim6Q/видео.html
And Garth Brooks still sounds like Peter Criss!!!
This young lady does one. She reckons they "look like clowns"
ruclips.net/video/F27PHJEYD_w/видео.html
You have to hear beth.. great song
Beth is a need to hear
The one thing that's great about KISS is their diversity. They had their Hard Rock/Classic rock sound. Then Disco and More mainstream. Back to Hard Rock to Hair Metal(no makeup) except hairspray etc. Back to Hard Rock/metal to grunge. Then back to classic Hard Rock sound. It's all great.
And in what genre would you put Mudic
One of my favorite KISS song is "Beth", which is divergent from most of their other songs.
I'm a big Kiss fan and would never describe anything they did as Metal.
You're absolutely right! For those who don't know yet, check once Music From The Elder, and you'll be confused again about what this band is capable of!
@@EattheApple666 unholy
She goes from, "never heard them and their evil music" to "OK" and grooving with it inside the first two lines of the first verse. I love it. Girl you've been KISSed. Enjoy
KISS was the first band to concentrate on a stage presence. They were the first to wear full costumes, start pyrotechnic fire displays on stage, and never listed their names on albums, so we never knew who the artists were. Before them, there was little stage presentations.
Huge KISS fan from 1975...but I actually love this song!
The live version is amazing.
KISS’s Dynasty tour (with this song) was my first concert back in 1979. I was in 7th grade. Awesome show!
Christeen Sixteen, Calling Dr. Love, Ladies Room & Lick it Up are a few of my favs!! ❤
If you want darker/heavier stuff by KISS... "God of Thunder", "Unholy", "War Machine", "Almost Human" are a good representation of Gene Simmons demon alter ego... but there are soooo many great KISS songs that are far from this particular type of song... "Black Diamond", "Beth", "Calling Dr Love", "Dirty Livin'", "Got to Choose", "Hard Luck Woman", "I Love it Loud", and they're go to song "Love Gun" are just a taste of KISS
Unholy is an awesome tune
Rock'n'Roll Hell is another rather dark song that Kiss had done also
100,OOO YEARS!🤘
@@Montyhugo How about "It Never Goes Away"
@@philtarbox8256 some other great Kiss songs that they should review:
Plaster Caster
2000 man
Shock me
I Stole Your Love
Hotter Than Hell
Firehouse
Tears Are Falling
Heaven's On Fire
Lick It Up
Creatures Of The Night
I Love It Loud
Calling Dr. Love
I Wanna Rock'n'Roll All Night
Cold Gin
Deuce
Saint And Sinner
Rock'n'Roll Hell
Killer
War Machine
A World Without Heros
Torpedo Girl
Haha..she nailed it 20 seconds in! DISCO KISS!
KISS is my granddaughter’s favorite band. She started listening to their music when she was 4. She is 8 now. My kids grew up listening to such a variety of music bc I love music period. My daughter carried her to see them in concert for her 6 year old bday. My daughter has been to lots of concerts. But, KISS blew her away. She said it was the best concert she has ever been to. As a matter of fact, they woke me up at 3am to tell me about how much fun they had.
Gene sings a few songs too...Check out "GOD OF THUNDER" That's where you'll see Gene in all his glory...it's a cool, heavy jam!
War Machine and Unholy come to mind real fast
omg if they're telling kiss why did they listen to that Horse song is the devil 😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒
Cold gin as well.
I remember when this came out, and I was a kid, I was like what the hell is this, and funny it became one of their biggest hits. They were smart and knew what was popular at the time and gained a huge new audience. But us diehard fans thought they sold out to the disco sound that every artists was taking advantage of at the time.
Great reactions keep em coming 🤘
In the most respectful way possible....Tasha is fine!!
Indeed, a fella could get lost in those eyes girl.
Kiss is from Queens, NY. Turns out I went to the same middle school as lead singer, Paul Stanley. You should listen to Beth. Their most commercially successful song that 3/4 of the band didn’t want to record.
It's their only song to reach #1 from what I've learned
This was my high-school girlfriend and my song back in 1980
WOW ... you picked up on the disco theme in the first 15 seconds, good catch. Great song.
Most Rock and Roll was written to be danced to. Until the Beatles came along. They changed the landscape.
KISS is from NYC, the Detroit market embraced the band really early in their career, it was in a lot of ways their first success out side of New York. So the band has a real love for the city.
The first time I saw KISS on television, it was the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon. They were on a platform that came down from the ceiling.
Guys, kiss was my first concert ever kiss destroyer..1979.🤘🤘🤘
KISS has a wide range of talent and song styles. I've followed them since about 1974 or 1975. Heavy to Pop they have done it all. Awesome in Concert as well. Thanks for doing this video. Really Fun!
5:03 Paul's falsetto was on the level of Roger Taylor of Queen when it came to Glass-Shattering Falsetto. They even took the key up a whole step in the live versions of 1979 and 1980, with him STILL cranking out that Falsetto at a higher key to boot.
Great Reaction! I’ve been a longtime Kiss fan since their debut of their first Live album KISS ALIVE. That album came out it 1975 and really catapulted the band’s career. There are tons of Kiss songs and albums to choose from but I think you will really dig songs from that album. I recommend the song “Deuce” Lead Vocals by •Gene Simmons,
The song “Strutter” Lead Vocals by •Paul Stanley, “Black Diamond” Lead Vocals by •Peter Criss (intro by Paul Stanley) ... Cheers 🤙🏼
Agreed, ^ all these are good choices, and they are all big hits for KISS, you should
enjoy any of them, or do all 3! ( most of the Kiss songs are fairly short so you could do
a marathon and be the same length as this video ) 😁
I was born in 1970, KiSS was my first favorite band. I was 7 when I discovered them. Peter Chris was my favorite. Saw them twice, my first concert was KISS Creatures of the Night Tour I was 13. Love this band and Yes this one was off of their Disco album.
Speaking of Diana Ross Gene Simmons was dating her around this time
Had her on the "SPIN CYCLE" tongue !!! >:)>:)>:)
Tasha def channeled some Diana Ross there at 4:17 ! Oooh-La-La !
@@paulwalsh2344 Yes, yes she did :):):)
He only dated her for a short time because he ended up dating Cher next.
@@jasonhitchcock8911 You have the two of them the wrong way round. Gene was dating Cher 1978 - 1980, and started seeing Diana after Cher introduced her to Gene. He was with Diana from 1980 to 1982.
Gene Simmons once made an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show back in the late 80's if memory serves. Eventually the tongue thing came up and Oprah ask Gene "exactly how long is your tongue Gene"? To which Simmons promptly replied "long enough to make you my very closest friend Oprah." Oprah's reaction to Gene's answer was priceless! She turned 5 different shades of red on national TV that day!
Imagine being a little boy growing up in the 60's, watching Godzilla movies, then bam!!! theres a rock band that hits the scene, lead by a guy who's made up to look like a demon dragon. The 60's and 70's were the heydays for the monster and Sci-fi movie genre, KISS combined that theme with Rock & Roll music.
KISS "Dynasty" was my first album ever! My mom got it for me for Christmas. I still love this album! That 2000 Man, riff is still dope.
Tasha is gorgeous with her hair like this!!...😃👍💥......didn't mean she isn't with other hairstyles..hope that didn't come off wrong!?!.....anyhow, another great reaction guys!!!.. 😁💥👍👌
And they're from New York, but Detroit was the city where they first became really popular. So they have a special place in their hearts for Detroit fans. Detroit Rock city was written to honour those fans, and is a great song, and definitely more of a typical 70's KISS song for sure.
This was the song, Ace hated most because his wrist hurt after playing it - lol. The Live verrsion is a killer!
Its just ONE song, the whole album is good & it Rocks.
I would like to welcome both of you to the KISS Army!!!! They have a HUGE catalog of music that you will enjoy, hope to see you react to more of their songs!!! Here is a good list to start with:
Rock And Roll All Night
Shout It Out Loud
Shock Me
Beth
Love Gun
God Of Thunder
Watch Kiss God of Thunder at Cobo Hall live 1977. This is an example of the reputation you are referring to and why our parents thought they were evil. My Mom finally succumbed to my desperate cries and at age 11 took me to see them live in 1979 during the Dynasty Tour. To this day, it was one of the most amazing concerts I've ever attended! Also, my Mom LOVED it!
I absolutely love your reaction to this awesome song by Kiss! They had to go that direction because of how big disco was at that time and Paul knocked it out of the park when he wrote this one because it was so popular with the disco crowd although the army did hate it I thought it was genius! Girl your moves are the same ones we had on the floor back in the disco days and I absolutely loved watching you ❤️ I’m glad you guys gave kiss a chance because their roots are actually Motown and if you listen careful you will definitely hear it. I’m loving your channel ❤️🥰 🎶
Just so you know, critics originally said that they were only popular because of their makeup. After that, they stopped wearing the makeup and critics said they were actually very good.
Love those songs!! Great band and good picks!! 🙌🔥
I saw Kiss 3 times in their * Heyday * and they played this on the dynasty tour in 1979 at the summit in Houston Texas- I have alot of pics ( thats a whole nother story of getting the camera in ) and they played this song - there was 2 shows in 79 and I saw both - they nailed this song - spot on and yes it was during the disco ara- great reaction bless you
She said disco sounding??, I just realized this is a DISCO song.never would have thought that but really listen.🤘✌💣💥🇨🇦
I love the disco lights on the guitar. I love this song. Thank you
LOL the wife doing the Saturday Night Fever move!
Love the video. Brings back memories when they first released that song. They did a few different disco songs.
You two are awesome. You are really getting into this. I have loved kiss ever since I was 10-12 yrs old. I am 52 now. They are so awesome. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE NELLY! Not the same music but I love Rock, Classic Rock, Rap, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Country and more. I love people who are willing to give other genre's a chance.
God Gave Rock n Roll to You is one of the classic Kiss songs. Beth is a beautiful ballad...Love Gun is funny as hell!!
Good reaction to KISS, selecting these two songs to get her started was awesome. Gene Simmons is a co-founder with Paul Stanley and Simmons does sing as well. They're from New York too. You want to hear some other versions of KISS, try 'A World Without Heroes' (there's a video for this), 'I Love It Loud', 'Lick It Up and 'I Just Wanna'.
You guys are awesome. Such a beautiful couple.
Life long KISS fan here - One of my favorite songs.
This is primo roller skating music right here. Fact. I would know, cuz I skated to it.☺☺
Love the reaction! I grew up on KISS and pretty much love everything they did, even the disco and pop stuff :) Would love to see your reaction to either Sure Know Something, Easy As It Seems, or Shandi.
I loved them when I was a kid. And the one with the long tongue was born in the city I live: Haifa, Israel.
The song I still love you is one of the great Rock Ballads.
Just imagine...an arena...then show time comes, huge Sphinx head, and all four members of a band, Paul, Gene, Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick, in it's mouth, side by side/ Cream of non-make up KISS.
Just remember back in the 70's the costumes and makeup was done for the theatrics to stand out even further than their music made them stand out, its all part of the show and they have toured right up to last year with them in their 70's which shows their longevity like alot of the music of the 60's, 70's and 80's
Omg what a great reaction- Tasha caught it right away - it was Kisses " contribution" to the disco music that was playing at that time and they killed it with this song- I saw Kiss 3 times- 76 and twice in 79 - I love you both ....hot dang Tasha can dance sittin down 😊🐾😊
Awesome reaction(s) !!! ...Your girl was FEELIN' IT !!! :):):)
I love this song,I was 8 when This came out.Have it on vinyl record, lol.
Hey, I went to six KISS concerts in the mid to late 70's and this song was balls. My fave KISS song is Strutter.
This was great!!!!! ..would love to see you do Kiss “Shandi” and “Sure Know Something”...There is so much to discover with this band..
Now back in the 70/80`s.....love it.....THX
lol gene actually hates this song because he isn't the center of attention, but they still rock hard and I've seen them live twice, the second time was front row for their final tour and my dad was born and raised in Argentina so KISS was one of his first ever albums that he owned growing up so we were all shocked as a family to find we were sitting front row, epic.
She is so cute, you're a lucky man!
They're a great group of people !!! Love them, and newer members !!! I love this !!!
Gene Simmons was dating Diana Ross back in the early 70s and they would see prince downtown in the Village of New York and when he started dating Cher in the late 70s early 80s she was singing on the record label Casablanca which was a lot of new sounds for older and established artist. she was singing disco and the label wanted kiss to do the same thing... But the older hard core kiss army fans lost their minds
gene dated diana ross from 1979 to 1980 ...i think he met cher in late 1978 ...started dating her in 79 but he did date cher first
jessie ward Then who is he dating in the early to mid-70s with the band was still on the ground and he was going to these clubs downtown and as a kid I used to read the daily news out of New York and Liz Smith would have a column a national column actually and it would take pictures of all the stars at the Palladium studio 54 and so forth but I thought I heard Jean talk about meeting prince before his first album was released
I still love this song as much as I did in 79. Wow they were all so young
This song is from their album called Dynasty. It came out in 1979/1980. The end of the Disco Era
I love when people are shocked that they sound lighter than they thought they would. Because back in the '70s everything about them was shocking. Try Shout It Out Loud ('96 Tiger Stadium)
I remember an interview Gene did regarding this song and playing it live at one of those rock festivals full of hard-core metal fans, he was about worried about doing it but when he looked at the audience they were all do do do doing right along!!
I recommend “God gave rock n roll”.
Lol I had the same sentiments about KISS but Thai was way back in the 90s. They had a comeback around ‘95 and were on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and that’s when I really heard them for the first time, even though I was aware of them for years.
First time to your channel. I love the fact she says sounds like Disco lol. Big fan of Kiss, and yes, that's the Disco album. I think it says something for a band to change up once in awhile. Still love this song to this day. Sorry hard core Kiss army people, but it has been done Lol.
Kiss will always be one of my favorite bands! Paul Stanley was my first love.
Rock n roll all night - ( and party every day ) classic Kiss Song ..
They all had a single Album. Still as Kiss. Y'all cracked me up. Look it up when you get a chance. Kiss is still one of my favorites. Especially the older music.
I love this song so much. Paul Stanley is my favorite member of KISS
Listen to Rock and roll all night 'party every day'.
It's a fun song - played at 5pm every Friday in Cleveland
if she wants a harder version of KISS check out " unholy " by KISS
The bassline from Detroit Rock City is lifted from Freddy's Dead by Curtis Mayfield ..... Kiss always had an element of R&B (....the original Rhythm & Blues) and Motown.
Paul even has a Motown / Philly Soul side project called Soul Station.
Also..... all 4 original members of Kiss sang lead vocals on various songs - Gene and Paul sing almost an equal number of Kiss songs ...... the band being modelled after the Beatles in that way.
One of their biggest songs in Australia was Shandi. A great balad. You wont be dissapointed.
Ironically, this was the first KISS song I ever heard and I loved it. I was about 11 at the time. lol. There is much, much more to this band. Been around a looong time.
When they played St. Louis on their first reunion tour they tried to play I Was Made For Lovin' You and we booed so hard they cut it off in the middle of the 2nd verse. Paul said "Alright, we can take a hint. No disco in St. Louis."
Awwww....
So I saw them 3 times when I lived in Iowa. One concert, they started this song, then stopped and said they forgot their white suits and did not continue playing it! True story
3 Friends and I went out as KISS for halloween in 1978. Had the costumes and the makeup. Wore wigs to get the right length hair. Everyone of us got SEVERAL propositions from women that night. I was the drummer Peter Chris and with the makeup on, looked exactly like him. Had one gorgreous women walk up to me, wrap her arms around me , put her head on my chest , and the first word out of her mouth were, "I'm in love with you." It was one of the most fun, yet the weirdest and craziest halloween I've ever had. (BTW, I was engaged so was a good boy and turned down the propositions)
Thanks for the post.
There is plenty of harder rock via KISS.
Checkout some more of the catalog.
God of Thunder is a cool song.
“The costumes don’t match the vibe.” Wow, you don’t know how right you were! 😀
I played guitar for a death metal band and yet I LOVE the Dynasty album by KISS. I particularly love Ace's songs but all of them are pretty good really. I used to listen to that on a friggin' 8-track! ha ha
Love the energy! New sub here, cheers from sweden !!
Great video! Despite all the hate this song gets it has always been one of my KISS favorites. Paul Stanley is a talented singer , and once played the Phantom of the Opera in Canada in 1999.(can be found here on RUclips) Thanks for sharing this video : )
As far as getting into KISS for the first time, I would venture to say Made for Loving you is probably the safest way to start a KISS journey.
"Do You Love Me?" is another great Kiss song worth checking out
This was a slap in the face to rock music. Disco was making a come up, and kiss was looked at to combat it. They instead made a disco album
I lived through that time. It was brutal as rock fan. KISS had the balls to sell huge “Disco Sucks!” buttons at their merch table on the Dynasty Tour in 1979 and they played that horrible song. They weren’t the only band to do it, though. It was shameful to hear so many rock bands selling out to disco just to get on the radio during those few years. Into the 80s and 90s and maybe even later, every time I visited a sketchy traveling carnival, it seemed like “I Was Made for Loving You” was always playing on The Himalaya ride.
KISS only did that song as a disco song....the rest is rock and roll
Jeffrey Burnett WRONG dumbass! KISS made this one “disco” song in order to cash in on the death throes of disco, idiot! The rest of the album was pure hard rock, you sanctimonious prick!!
Their one of the best bands of all time. They started back in the early 1970s. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley both are the frontmen. Original members are Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss on the Drums and Ace Frehley on Lead Guitar. they sometimes rotate vocals with all members. Peter Criss Sang BETH back in the 70s. Gotta check that song out One of the few songs you would never think a band would do. This song is a ballad and was sung by Peter Criss the drummer. They got an award for best ballad of the year. Check out BETH.
Hola Amigos✌️😎 from Sacramento California area,👍 perfect review♥️ love the ending and how Kiss brought out the Kiss in You💋❣️
rah,rah, aaah👅
Black Diamond is a good place to start your KISS journey
A GREAT early Banger from KISS is Black Diamond! (Peter Criss the drummer is the lead singer on it)
