Empoleon underrated tbh. I mean cmon he’s a starter with a steel type and his sprite is just 👌🏼

@@TheHomieToxic I did too . Infernape is my all time favorite pokemon . I think the best starters design wise are from this gen . Torterra is kinda poor competitavley but still a good pokemon

Me bro. It's coming maybe 2020 since Let's go Pikachu and Eevee this year, Gen 8 next year, and then sinnoh remake. But maybe it'll come sooner cause it's just a remake. Not a whole another gen.
Ice Beam > Blizzard
Better accuracy, more PP, and still has very good power.
Blizzard works better on ice Pokemon (STAB) with hail (100% accuracy)

Probably for gallade is better psycho cut, because his special atk is pretty low, and instead of mamoswine is better using weavile
I don't get why Empolean should use grass knot... the power of this move depends on the size difference with your opponent, wouldn't it work better for Roserade? Empoleon it's huge!
Natures?
@@jaydon111 I don't understand, please help me :(
What I like about Sinnoh is the Starter Trio have ways to beat the type advantage. Infernape can counter Empoleon with fighting. Empoleon can beat Torterra with Ice. Torterra can beat Infernape with Ground.
Sad that such a dynamic was never repeated.
Well they did repeat the dynamic in gen 9 now
types ( for those who don't know ):
quaquaval : water/fighting
meowscarada : grass/dark
skeledirge : fire/ghost
quaquaval beat meowscrada with fighting
meowscarada beat skeledirge with dark
and skeledirge beats quaquaval with ghost
@@BOUKEN_DA_BOUKEN101 Not quite, Ghost doesn't do the same to Fighting that Fighting does to steel. Sure, it blocks fighting. But it doesn't have a solid counter to it.
@@kadindarklord i thought they did that with gen6 also with greninja's water/dark counters delphox's fire/psychic typing then delphox counters chesnaught's grass/fighting typing then same with ches to gren typings
Crobat is fine, but having two Poison-types is risky. Crobat can be replaced for Togekiss or Roserade for Tangrowth.
I keept Togekiss in my team until the end of pokemon Platinum
Corwin this was for platinum. You get the egg from Cynthia
@@Lionheart38361 you get the egg from Cynthia for togepi very early
The main reason Crobat was put on there was so it would balance out the weakness to fighting, if you can't tell half the team is weak to fighting while other half resist it. Putting in Tangrowth and/or Togekiss/Staraptor would make so that only one/two pokemon actually resisted the fighting type. This is a small thing, but the little things make a big difference
GEO SHMEO. Then, why not replacing Mamoswine for Froslass? It's not weak to Fighting-types, has an inmunity and it's pretty fast. You might be wondering about Electric-types, but you have the Grass-type for resistance or Gallade with Earthquake for attacking.
Edit: Yeah, I noticed half of the team is weak to Fighting-types, but their secondary types (not counting Machamp) can be countered.
I pick my Pokémon based on if they look cool
I have a lot of dragon type Pokémon
I thought you have a lot of ice type pokemon
Same
i pick them of how much i like them
So you're Lance?
Zercous lol, only half of Lances team is dragon type
Mystic: "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl suck"
*several people are typing...*
He is exaggerating but Diamond and pearl do have some glaring flaws (i still like them myself, tho). Platinum on the other hand is a masterpiece.
@@howielowis458 agreed! Still my favorite games, tho
I hate diamond and Pearl because of how hypnosis works in those games and Damn purugly being to fast and always knocking out my team
@@trippingkanga134 Lmao nah, I just got that good nostalgia high from the games, and as far as I'm concerned, that's enough to make a game good 😅
I grew up with diamond and this really hurt to hear 😞

@ShitpostingAtheist crobat and alakazam and gengar is early
@ShitpostingAtheist and mismagius
Not to mention jolteon and houndoom
@@dpmotion_ Crobat evolves from high friendship which is gimmicky.
Both alakazam and Gengar need to be traded.
@@shellshockedbros4458 that doesn't matter when you still have infernape, roserade, staraptor, garchomp, rapidash, jolteon, leafeon, Mr mime and floatzel, 9 fast pokemon is more than enough for "early game". you can make a full team out of those which is early af. even biberal is fast but no one uses it. its good for hms but its still fast just saying. Ponyta before roark. Gible comes right after gardenia, its early enough. Buizel at windworks. Get eevee from bebe and thunderstone it. Train around mossy rock in that forest for leafeon. Chimchar as a starter. Catch roselia before 3rd gym fantina. Shiny stone for roserade on iron island (dw roserade is still strong, i almost not let it evolve). Mime jr route 209. train a wild zubat with bite and it'll be easier, make sure u give it a soothe bell and it should evolve around level 35.Golbat aint that bad either so don't be scared if it doesn't evolve when you want it to. Or train zubat from lv6 it'll evolve into crobat around lv30. It really depends on how many battles u win with zubat/golbat so train it in the grass if u want. Training a variety of pokemon in early game isn't great anyway. It's just lazy people who pick on weavile for being late game like who cares? That's good for ur other pokemon because they gain more xp rather than it going to the next party pokemon u catch. plus it saves space for hm slaves.

I had a similar team: (second team that beat Cynthia)
(Desmond) Empoleon, Surf, ice beam, flash cannon rain dance
(Soul) Roserade, gigia drain, poison powder, solar beam, sludge bomb (I think)
(Moonlight) Houndoom, sunny day, dark pulse, flame thrower, fire blast
(Star) Staraptor, fly, quick atk, close combat, brave bird
(Ace) Garchomp, crunch, dragon rush, earthquake, stone edge
(Kallus) Dusknoir, shadow punch, thunder/ice punch, payback, confuse ray
But Ice Shard has a base power of only 40. Wouldn't Avalanche or Ice Fang be better?
@@Pantomime0709 some people like priority over power
Pretty similar to mine, except I use drifblim and umbreon for mamoswine and houndoom
I use Staravia against Fantina all the time. Spam double team against Haunter since it can't touch you aside from Sucker Punch. Staravia will be in great shape to take on Mismagius in the end with max evasion
and can't be hit by Shadow Ball being a normal type.
ABgamerX and teach it thief via tm so you have a super effective move
does staravia not get any flying type moves for fantina?
Staravia can get either Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, or Pluck
so then staravia can attack fantina's ghost types. i wonder why mystic said that staravia can't
Empoleon is actually the starter I picked when I played Pearl for the first time and it’s one of my favorite starters. Torterra is really high on the list, too.
Don't forget that for fantina, staravia can learn thief, I know its not that great, but you can steal the sitrus berry from mismagius and use it to yourself
In my first Platinum play through, my team was my strongest team to date. It made me appreciate new Pokémon that I’ve never liked before:
- Empoleon, Garchomp, Yanmega, Toxicroak, Roserade, Luxray
Honestly, for Roserade, Energy Ball or Giga Drain would probably be better than Petal Dance. Back in Gen 4, it only had 90 base power after all.
Giga drain has low pp and energy ball is post-game
Leech Seed is excellent. Idk why Mystic slept on it
'All the other grass types are slow compared to roserade' Did you forget about my baby Leafeon :(
leafeon is a physical attacker which aside for the fact that it can take advantage of leaf blade, it's really not that useful overall since most of the grass type moves are special.
@@lemonbie9308 not only that, but Leafeon doesn't have that much coverage
@@Kurious_ yeah i mean x scissor and iron tail are decent but other than that its just meh

God, platinum was a great edition. Played through it again like half a year ago with Empoleon and it was a blast. I totally forgot how great of a post game this game had!
Not sure what my team was but aside from firetypes, the amount of different possible teams you can make here is amazing.
Empoleon was my MVP for sure tho. The bulk and offensive power paired with the great movepool (grassknot...) made it a monster in the elite 4.
This is literally my exact team in pokemon Platinum. Holy shit

samee, except gallade
I have been needing this team video for a long time. I chose Piplup in Platinum and the team I have got me stuck in the Distorsion World before Cyrus with low PP and fresh out of potions because it was a drag to climb up Mount Coronet.
Great team! Love all the picks you got for us this time
THANK YOU!!! I'VE HEARD THAT YOU WOULD CREATE THIS A WEEK AGO BUT I'M TOO IMPATIENT TO WAIT SO I HAVE JUST PLAYED POKEMON PLATINUM 2 DAYS AGO WITH PIPLUP AS A STARTER. WHEN I SEE THIS VIDEO ON MY RUclips PAGE TWO MINUTES AGO I WAS EXTREMELY HYPED! THANK YOU!!!(I haven't seen this yet).
Thanks for the videos. I learned some new awesome things about Pokemon and good strategies
My Pokémon Platinum Team:
(Main Story)
Empoleon - Surf, Ice Beam, Rock Smash, Waterfall
Houndoom - Flamethrower, Dark Pulse, Thunder Fang, Strength
Magnezone - Thunderbolt, Flash Cannon, Tri Attack, Metal Sound
Staraptor - Fly, Return, Close Combat, Defog
Gallade - Psycho Cut, Close Combat, Leaf Blade, Cut
Garchomp - Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Rock Climb
(Ultimate)
Empoleon (Expert Belt) - Surf, Ice Beam, Earthquake, Drill Peck
Houndoom (Power Herb) - Flamethrower, Dark Pulse, SolarBeam, Nasty Plot
Magnezone (Wise Glasses) - Thunderbolt, Flash Cannon, Tri Attack, Mirror Coat
Staraptor (Muscle Band) - Brave Bird, Return, Close Combat, Fly
Gallade (Scope Lens) - Psycho Cut, Close Combat, Leaf Blade, Night Slash
Garchomp (Life Orb) - Outrage, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Swords Dance
AXHP hey that's pretty good.
I love the whole team tbh. However the solarbeam on houndoom is sort of useless since no one has sunny day on the team and charging up a beam in front of abulky water type isnt as useful in most battles. Its all good moves but swap the solar beam for something like a thunderbolt. I realize its useless against ground types but the reason i showed above aplies to that aswell. Houndoom only lacks movepool counterattacking, but to stab its amazing.
Oh that's very similar to mine, I just have Jolteon instead of Magnezone, also I have Gengar and I don't know whether to use Staraptor or Houndoom (fire and flying attacks... very similar type coverage)
@@HiImMigz Houndoom cannot learn Thunderbolt. Best it can do is Thunder Fang or Hidden Power Electric.
My team:
- Pingu the Empoleon
- Sora the Staraptor
- Simba the Luxray
- Elric the Gallade
- Chompy the Garchomp
- Jack the Houndoom
No way bro I named my Empoleon Pingu tooo....
Great work, this was one of the best videos from these series :)
Great video! Can you show the complete team in an overview after you are done explaining each one? I think it would be a nice addition to an already great concept!
Sinnoh edition nice
Nice I agree
You DO know there's a move tutor for Zen Headbutt on Route 212, right? That's a much better Psycho Cut alternative than Psychic, especially given Gallade's abysmal Special Attack stat.
Psycho Cut is still quite good - 100% accuracy, higher crit chance and fits with Gallade's sword arms
xyzzy51273 Especially if you give it scope lens. That improves it’s critical ratio.
Psycho Cut is a physical move, though...
@@speedie6aj248 gallade is a physical attacker not a special attacker
05:30 🤣😂🤣 had me rolling at work. Thank you for the great video.
I was holding off my next platinum play through for this thanks Mystic
I love Torterra, also for the torterra team give it the moveset of Earthquake, Crunch, Rock Slide/Stone Edge, and Giga Drain/Razor Leaf/Wood Hammer
socoolmudkip crunch really isn’t that necessary
I just finished my first playthrough of Platinum, and my team was Empoleon, Luxray, Staraptor, Weavile, Garchomp and Lucario.
I basically swept the game once I had all six members. I even beat Cynthia without any of my pokemon fainting.
basic team, every time i play these old games again, i always try and make the teams different and unique
@@piplupxpp
You call it basic, I call it efficient
what were their movesets? if u still that the first playthrough game file saved? i'd love to see ur preferences
@@carterlorenzano1839
I still have the file, just gotta try and get my ds to actually register it
I watch these mainly for good movesets for each of the pokemon you mention. My team is usually Infernape, Staraptor, Golem, Luxray, Giratina, and Vaporeon. It is on Platinum, which is the only reason why it has Giratina on it, because you get it before the Elite Four, and it is very helpful learning Aura Sphere, Shadow Force, and Earth Power.
I feel really proud of myself, in my first run of Platinum, half my team was this! Game was still tough though (I had played through Diamond once before, and did the whole "only train the starter and see what happens", cause I didn't really know what I was doing)
I love Torterra. 😢 My Platinum team was Torterra, Honchcrow (I traded a Murkrow egg from my SoulSilver), Gallade, Vaporeon, Magmortar, and Magnezone.
Mamoswine is one of my favourite Pokémon, I’m glad it made the team
Piplup was my first Pokemon and as such Empoleon is special to me :) this was a great video! I just have a few changes I'd implement for this team:
For Empoleon I'd go with Ice Beam: it's far better than Blizzard as it has more pp and greater accuracy. With Roserade I wouldn't like locking myself into one move, so I'd go with Giga Drain or Magical Leaf for me more pp as you mentioned. Crobat and Staraptor have fine movesets imo, no comments there. Gallade as well looks awesome. Houndoom has a good moveset, although I use Flamethrower/Dark Pulse/Sunny Day/Solarbeam myself, yours is also great though :) Mamoswine again looks good, however I'd opt for Ice Shard and Fang over Rock Climb. Great video!
I know Ice Shard is great and Rock Slide is a great coverage move but regarding Mamoswines speed stat Avalanche would be a great move, too.
I'm playing through Platinum now with Empoleon as my starter and my team shares 5/6 of these pokemon (replace Crobat with Gliscor). Coincidence? I think not
Well, actually mamoswine's best ice move is Avalanche becos of mamo's Bad speed
did u just assume it has bad speed because it was fat? 80 base is pretty decent especially since it has ice shard
Yeah you did what a lot of people do tbf which is assume it has bad speed because of it’s ground typing, but it’s actually average speed :)
I like the best team idea and i love to see some bloopers as example at 2:31 he was talking about how to get surf but the picture he show us was when you get cut 🤣
Can I put *Torterra* on this team.
only when Alolan Golem is on the team.
Then it wouldn't be Empoleon edition

Holy shit I crafted a team for my Platinum run before watching this video and now that i'm halfway through and just finding this channel, I can't believe the chances that this is my EXACT team that i'm running right now (With Staraptor instead of Crobat).

@@harbingerserenade9569 Gallade is my favourite pokemon of all time tho
Faizal Hilmy Same!
Gallade has a UFO waist lol
Platinum was my second main series game, and it was the first one I beat the main story on
In my final Sinnoh team with Empoleon I used Gallade and Houndoom. Roserade is a very good choice as a grass Pokèmon and also Crobat and Mamoswine are two fantastic choices, but instead of them I used Staraptor and Garchomp, two of my favourite Sinnoh Pokèmon.
So I’ve been playing through platinum again following this team and I opted to go for staravia (for reference sake I’m posting this shortly after reaching pastoria and tbh staravia has come in clutch so much. It stood up to fantina’s mismagius launching multiple psybeams and ignoring confusion multiple times. I just got gallade and my budew recently evolved into roselia (ugh it took forever even though it never fainted) can’t wait to continue with the playthrough and also can’t wait for the torterra episode cus I’m probably going to play through with that team too. However I don’t understand your distaste towards torterra but I suppose just like all of us you have your reasons, I look forward to a possible explanation though.
The Empoleon moveset was unique to me. Whenever I use one I usually give it Hydro Pump, Flash Cannon, Ice Beam, and Drill Peck
Dude don't use hydro miss use surf
HELI0_Z is that ok if I choose both?
Nobody:
Barry: I am speed
So happy you included Mamoswine it’s my favorite sinnoh Pokémon
I was looking around for team members before checking this video, and had a set team ready before I watched this.
The only difference is I’m going with Garchomp over Mamoswine, so I’ll definitely be using this when I play Platinum.
Water : Empoleon
Fighting : Gallade
Fire : Houndoom
Flying : Staraptor
Steel : Lucario
Dragon : Garchomp
The team I used for platinum was
Torterra
Électivire
Starraptor
Togekiss
Rampardos
And gastrodon
I'll be honest, I like this team more than the original one
The TM for Return, mentioned by Staraptor, is also immediately given by the professor, at the beginning of the game. (In Platinum at least)
My team was:
Empoleon
Gliscor
Galade
Houdom
Garchomp
Luxray
(i know two pokemon with 4x weakness ice)
For almost my 7th rerun and my 5th year playing Sinnoh, I am going to trade my current team to Diamond (never erasing diamond too many valuable pkmn) and going to start another.
Why do you need a Fire type on your team anyway? A Fighting type can take care of Ice and Steel types (plus Dark, Normal and Rock types) and a Flying type (or even a Poison type) can take care of Grass and Bug types. So Fire types are pretty redundant.
re-watching this video has made me want to run through with piplup again on platinum, but I've gotta ask one question, why Blizzard over ice beam? Ice beam I believe can be found on the ice route through the use of rock climb in platinum, i'd rather reliability over brute force unless it's necessary...
Lol mystic dont you remember that professor rowan literally gives you tm return right after you get the pokedex
I've been waiting for this 1 because I bought a used platinum a little bit ago and have always wanted to use piplup but didn't know what to use with it. Thanks for this awesome team Mystic!
I'm so glad Houndoom is on this team! Hondour is my third favourite Pokemon of all time
Thanks for the video, I was planning on using empoleon for platinum.
What about Togetic/Togekiss? I loved using that flyer
Because he already used the shiny stone on Roserade. If you wanna use Togekiss go ahead, just make sure you have a grass-type alternative. (This works well if you have Torterra as your Starter.)
@@marcsebastians.acusar3431 actually, I was able to deal with the ever common Quagsires, Whiscash, and Gastrodons of Sinnoh by using Togekiss's Magical Leaf with a Meadow Plate.
@@xfdzfd4370 As long as it worked well for you man, it's great
Starter: Empoleon
Grass: Roserade
Flyer: Crobat/ Staraptor
Fire: Houndoom
Fighter: Gallade
Dragon Ciunter: Mamoswine
Team Galactic Boss Cyrus So for those of us brave enough to try and build a similar team in Diamond/Pearl, what would the appropriate substitute Pokémon be?
Fire: Rapidash (only option, barring a traded Infernape)?
Fighting: Medicham (same type combo, but slightly awkward move pool)?
Dragon Counter: Weavile (have to use Ice Shard though)?
Alternate Ground: Garchomp or Hippowdon?
Alternate Fighter: Lucario (if you don’t mind another Steel-Type) or Heracross (if you’re lucky to find one on those honey trees) or Toxicroak (if you don’t mind another Poison-Type)?
Yes, sadly, the more limited selection of Pokémon does work against you, but it’s not impossible. Just tricky.
@@zacharyjoy8724 Reading this comment actually ispired me to build a team in D/P revolving around Empoleon, and this is the result i created
1) Empoleon
Surf
Flash Cannon
Grass Knot
Ice Beam
(It's pretty much the same set Mystic had on the video, except i replaced Blizzard with Ice Beam, because it's an all around better move for a non-Snow Warning pokèmon)
2) Roserade
Petal Dance
Sludge Bomb
Stun Spore/Toxic (Personally, i think that both are amazing moves for stalling, but i think Toxic is a bit better because it's 100% accurate on a Poison type )
Shadow Ball
(Aside of the option of running Toxic, this is pretty much the same set that Mystic used in the video, because i think it was just too good)
3) Crobat
Fly
Cross Poison
U-Turn
Bite
(Personally, i really like this set, because it's taking a lot of advantage of Crobat's speed with Bite and U-Turn, and it's also very accessible, with all of the moves beign either TM's or level up moves)
4) Rapidash
Flame Wheel
Return
Sunny Day
Solar Beam
(Honestly iused Rapidash for this team just because it's the only non-starter Fire type avalible pre-post game in D/P, and i found out that it has a pretty good movepool, and some very good stats)
5) Garchomp
Earthquake
Dragon Claw
Fire Fang
Rock Slide
(Now, this will probably be the MVP of the team in the late game, with his great stats and coverage)
6) Weavile
Ice Shard (If you want to know how to get it, just level up Sneasel at level 49, and then evolve it)
Night Slash (i know it learns this move at level 35, so just use an Heart Scale, and realern it)
X-Scissor
Aerial Ace
(This it's just the Psychic and Dragon slayer on the team, and, while it's captured pretty late, it can be very useful)
Honestly, while this team dosen't have an Electric or Fighting pokèmon on it, i still think it's pretty well made, and i may try it next time i replay trough Diamond or Pearl (although it will not be soon, since i'm playing trough Diamond, and after that i want to move over from Sinnoh for a while)
BoJack Hopper Not bad. I hope the team has worked well for you. Personally, I’m doing something similar in a Diamond play through. With a few exceptions. 1) I chose to go with Staraptor (Return, Fly, U-Turn, Close Combat) over Crobat, to avoid Poison redundancy. 2) Instead of Rapidash, I’m using Medicham (Psychic, High Jump Kick, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch), for added type coverage. 3) Instead of X-Scissor, I’m giving Weavile Brick Break, for slightly better coverage. 4) Currently undecided about Fire Fang vs. Crunch on Garchomp, since Rock Slide does cover the Ice weakness.
@@zacharyjoy8724 Actually, i never used the team i described in that comment, it was just a thought experiment (still, thank you for hoping that this team will work well for me)
Also, i like most of the changes you made to my team, but i have a few things to say:
1) Although i have nothing to say about using Staraptor (since it's my second favorite pokèmon of all time, and i used it in almost all of my Sinnoh playtroughs), but i think that you should swap out U-Turn for Brave Bird, just because of the fact that this move does so much raw damage (especially if your Staraptor has +Atk nature)
2) While i do think Medicham is a very good pokèmon, and the fact it has the elemental punches is really good, the fact it dosen't have a good Psychic STAB hinders it a little bit
3) I think that in this team, Crunch is useless on Garchomp, since this team has so much coverage for Psychic and Ghost Pokèmon, while, aside of Rapidash/Medicham, this team has no fire coverage
This is pretty close to the team I used in Platinum a couple years ago.
-Roserade -Staraptor
-Gallade -Garchomp
- Magnezone -Magmortar
I used a Houndoom before Magmar, but replaced when I realized I had never used Magmortar and wanted to give it a shot. Good choice in my opinion.
You can also buy the TM for Fire Blast to use on Houndour/Houndoom until flamethrower
I'm hyped asf for Torterra
I really, REALLY wish Empoleon wasn't weak to ground type moves.
Isn’t it neutral?
Maxcrss weak to ground electric and fighting types
@@maxcrss2845 no rip
Use ice
@@Mr.Tw1sty I know empoleon can use ice moves, but still, you gotta admit it's really stupid that a WATER type is weak to ground.
I'm glad I can use Lucario in my team and this really helped me with some of my Pokemon for my team
This is a great team. I decided to use it myself, the problem is you sacrificed good defenses for speed. These Pokémon have a really hard time taking hits
130th like and as always great vid, man! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
Yooooo!
A team for my favourite Pokémon.
Edit: I used Aqua jet instead of Grass knot. Sure that means less coverage bet it came clutch.
Edit: I also did that. Used both Staraptor & Crobat in my team for my first playthrough.
Edit: I ALSO USED A GALLADE. We have the same minds Mystic. Plus Drain Punch is better for Gallade.
Edit: Yep! Also used Houndoom.
Staravia can touch Fantina, you can give it the Thief TM found in Eterna which will also deal with Mismagius' berry
Question: Will you do a remake of the Infernape team, using some Pokémon that are available only in Platinum? Also, I still want to see teams for Colosseum and XD.
YES.Finally Sinnoh. But... where is Bidoof?
Hey Mystic, small error you made, Bronzong resists all of Mamoswines moves. It has levitate so Earthquake can't hurt it. And Ice, Rock, and Normal can't hurt steel types.
I was waiting for this since the moment you started doing every starter
The torterra team needs Weavile. One of my favorite Sinnoh evolutions by a long shot.
I used: Empoleon,Crobat,Luxray,Houndoom, Espeon and Giratina
Crobat. Crobat everywhere:)
True xdddd
I agree with this team just a few things I would change, use night slash instead of leaf blade to galade since you already have a grass type and another Pokémon with a grass move.
Can't wait for Torterra's team, he's my favorite starter just barely behind Primarina
Who here wants a remake of platinum I. 2020??
There was a leak that it might probably come out in 2021, but who knows
@@ruvaroyalepokemonandmore9974 I dont know about that, but my friend told me that diamond and pearl remakes will come in September 2021. Who knows
M Mopuri who knows
@@ruvaroyalepokemonandmore9974 Yeah, who knows

Love this gen
HELL YES, GALLADE. My personal favorite Pokemon, and a must whenever I play Platinum. He has awesome stats and coverage, and a pretty badass design. Brick Break is my suggestion for his Fighting STAB. Sure, Close Combat hits harder, but his base Defense is too low to make him even more vulnerable, in my opinion.
Earthquake, though? Eeeh. I mean, it's a good idea, but I'd rather go for Garchomp for that, which is another one of my faves.
First time when I finished diamond I was 10 and I was picking Pokémon based on how much I liked them.
I ended up passing the whole game with 3 Pokémon basically about 50 60lv by the time I got to the League
Empoleon, Dialga and Luxray
You want a torterra team? Challenge accepted
Torterra
Staraptor or Crobat
Gastrodon or Gyrados
Machamp or Toxicroak
Rotom
Houndoom
This should do the trick
I think you get Rotom post game. If i am not mistaken
@@alperkeskin9644 Rotom you can get after Gardenia, but you can't get his forms if you don't have the event
I did mean regular rotom btw, no forms required
Yep, this was pretty much my team. I used staraptor because ofc we get starly early and used Gastrodon because it was such a tank (always made me sad having to teach it surf instead of muddy water). I don't remember what my last Pokemon was but I never used Houndoom as a kid. Anyway nice team dude.
@@TheEgg-o you can only get rotom once you get the nat dex
Psychic on gallade? Really?
Edit: magmar hits hard and is pretty decent if you can't trade to evolve it
yeah but...magmar looks really stupid... that's a huge drop in the coolness stat. XD
but seriously... magmortar is such an improvement
Qualquer gamer Magmar is great, the duck are you on about
Edit: I actually don’t mind having that auto correct
he looks really silly
Qualquer gamer well that’s just your opinion, although, you could argue that all Pokémon look silly
@@cunninglinguist7203 True
One thing you maybe forgot is that you get a return tm near the very beginning of the game, giving starly a phenomenal normal stab right off the bat. I believe it's given to you by Dawn/Brendan.
