Did you know I have a Netflix show?! Well, I didn't, but now I do! It's called Making Fun and it includes 4 of my best maker friends building kids delightfully pointless idea... sounds a lot like this RUclips channel, right? It's a project I've been working on since 2019 (and the reason for my videos being sparse recently). I really hope you'll give it a watch, I'm incredibly proud of this project and if you like my RUclips channel, you'll love the show! It's basically my channel if I had a budget, multiple cameras, and an editing team that actually knows how to edit, not just me.

my 11 years old son and i binged watching this every night. its like loves letter to the craftmanship world. we love the reactions. hilarious one liner specially with the kids.. editing is so good and funny too. there so much we can learn from this show. definitely not a cringe show, cant wait for season 2. ..

I guess I'm about to be the only person who didn't like it at all. So forced. Jimmy playing a grumpy Gus was so phoney and forced feeling. It felt like you probably had a good idea and some TV folks changed it. I couldn't make it through more than the second episode. But what do I know about making TV for Netflix.
My wife and I watched the whole thing last week. Tons of fun! Looking forward to season two!
My entire family has been enjoying this (we get in one or two episode almost every night). It’s so good, everyone pounced on my youngest when he “accidentally” watched ahead an episode lol! I hope for season two maybe with additional makers (don’t change the current formula, just add more - more is always better, right?). I wanna see y’all rub some woby or April W on this. The best part is - no one is voted off. Hope Netflix keeps this party going. Maybe plywood and steel costs will come down too so y’all can go even bigger.

haha that's amazing, glad both you and the kids are enjoying it. The actual concept of the show bounced around a few times and it could have been just another cringy reality show (which I would have just quietly walked away from), but it turned out better than I could have imagined and I'm proud that we made something that's unique to TV and isn't a competition show.
@@JackmanWorks To be honest I was expecting full cringe considering how most RUclips to tv transitions go. I was very pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the whole show. Whoever did the editing seemed to get each of your personalities and added just the right amount of ridiculousness/campiness while still showcasing the build process. I hope there’s more to come!
I was thinking that a season with some tech savvy makers could bring back requests like the 'Electromatron' suit.
Backyard scientist, Peter Sripol, and William Osman would all be good candidates. 👍
Of course William would be the 'Oh yeah let's do it!' alliance with most of the kids.😯
How can my kids get on the show? They have many ideas they want to share.

GAAAAH! My good friend Themen is on this show! He had this huge watch party at the stables with popcorn n stuff, and it was so great!

Unbelievable show guys, our son came across this on Netflix and said, "mom and dad watch this" we sat down and we're hooked!
The comedy and dry sense of humor from Jimmy towards the kids and the rest of you guys flat out goofy are exactly what is good about this show.
Do not change anything!
would love to see you address the concerns about safety in the shop and the fact that the show plagiarizes a youtube channel ran by women :)
I can only speak for my own safety practices in the shop and I don't think anything I did on the show was unsafe.
Also, the show wasn't plagiarized, nobody on the show was aware of KIS until after the show was already done. Our show has been in development for years, starting back when that channel only had a few thousand subscribers, but the general concept of the show is something that has existed long before either of us and will be done again in the future.

Watched this with my kid tonight and we both loved it. Then I had to go show her a couple of your other videos (baseball chair and penny skateboards). She loved it all!

My daughter (10) turned me on to this show. Episode 1 was my favorite from "Wood Chip/Cheese Sprinkling Bae" down to Jurassic Pat screaming on the toilet. My kids said "That's you, daddy!" I told them "I feel his (Pat's) pain."
I only have one issue: When I looked up the cast of Episode 1, is there a reason why the IMDb site has her marked as a male in her bio? Typo? Lastly, I would like to end with the words of a wise, young man: "TOILET!!!"🚽
I absolutely love this show as soon as it came out, but the only warning for most of the episodes is just suggestive themes. But in some parts of the episodes the screen flashes black really fast and even though i dont have epilepsy it still hurts my eyes. Please PUT AN EPILEPSY WARNING

Fun show, it really has a Jackman feel more so than diresta feel.

As of right now we haven't been renewed, but we also haven't been canceled either, so we'll see!

We're actually currently waiting to hear from Netflix about whether we've been renewed for a 2nd season or not. I'd recommend following Making Fun on social media because they'll be the first place that posts about if/when we are casting for the next season!

This guy, Jimmy, was at a local restaurant with an executive from Walmart discussing business. But kids recognized him and he was gracious to give them his time, despite being interrupted from his meal. Glad this guy is living the dream and making himself a wonderful living.

@@JackmanWorks, we're both "makers" (quotations to indicate questionable skill) and he was IN IT ALL THE WAY. I haven't heard him laugh so hard in ages and still be totally into the builds and commenting on choices you all made and the overall effect at the end. loved the show but the kids are incredibly annoying, do the producers hype them up on sugar and caffeine or something?
If you were a kid who was on TV, I’m sure you’d be excited and animated too 🤷♂️. But I’m sure they pick the more outgoing kids to pitch us because it’s better on camera.

I was sad to learn that ijessup had been cut from the original pitch of the show because “this has been done” on a RUclips channel.
It's fine that it's a bunch of mates having a laugh doing this, but I'm sure you and the guys have lots of other friends that you have made in the community who could have been a guest on an episode, for example.
Proper safety representation is another thing that's missing in the show. I shouted at the TV far too often at the lack of PPE. Chainsaws used inappropriately when there are safer tools for the job, again with no PPE. Not using respirators when cutting foam or sanding. I could go on.
It's good that this sort of thing is reaching a wider platform, but can't help but feel it should have been better than it is. Hopefully if it gets a second season things will be improved upon.

It's funny how I've seen this narrative being shared around and evolving, I guess it makes for a good story, but it's just not true.
Representation isn’t as important as you make it out to be. Kids see men and women in real life, it’s ok to have an environment where it’s just one or the other… reflecting real life is good too
I watched the first few episodes and enjoy it for the most part. The only criticisms are: How rude the kids are, as well as that whole showing clips of dumb ideas with too many repeats between episodes.. Make the interactions with the kids less painful and it would be a great show.
