Vanhal was a bohemian composer, who was gretaly influenced by the so-called "Mannheim school", which greatly imporved the classical style and its orchestral interpretation. Vanhal wrote many symphonies, many of them being in minor, and Vanhal proved conscious of the dramatic style of the minor mode. Here, no minor, no drama. It is a classical concerto in the classical form. The melodddies are charming, the harmony very simple. A very nice concerto.
