For the Ballon d'Or and UEFA POTY, I think instead of counting just 3rd or 2nd place votes, in a situation like this you should go with the top-3 non-Messi/Ronaldo players (with huge extra points if they finished above either of them during their prime). So in seasons where Messi and Ronaldo were 1st and 2nd, look at 3rd 4th and 5th as the Ballon d'Or for mere mortals. So we see who'd win or get in the podium for Ballon d'Ors in a world where Messi and Ronaldo are disqualified for being too good I think not including Player of the Tournament awards is a big miss here. Those are more meaningful than top goalscorer awards or positional awards because they represent a greater achievement. Golden Ball was included for World Cups but other than that there's still POTT things like Xavi being Euro 2008 Player of the Tournament, Iniesta being Euro 2012 POTT, Suarez being 2011 Copa America POTT, Suarez being 2014 EPL Player of the Season, etc Suarez missed out on votes for a lot of individual awards because of the controversies around him like the biting players which made media voters blacklist him during his very best years, which may be understandable but using individual awards like FIFA team nominations does underrepresent how good he was. This video missed Suarez's EPL player of the season awards from his insane season with Liverpool. I think winning POTS in a major league is probably even more impressive than being the top scorer If I had to pick one guy on this list to carry an ok team, it'd be Suarez with the goals, assists, playmaking and competitive intensity. His season with Liverpool was the best EPL season of the 2010s. Neymar could've been great at carrying but we can never tell because he spent his prime in Ligue 1 with PSG, all skill aside he didn't have the same competitive fire and intensity. Alves overachieve a lot as the driving force of those Sevilla teams but not the way Suarez did. And a playmaking forward who can create for himself will inherently be more able to carry a team than a finisher who needs support, a midfielder that needs good forwards to actually convert midfield dominance to wins, or a defender I think you got this right though. If I had to pick based on greatness, it's Iniesta. He probably has the best big-game resume in football history. He was a game-changer as sub in 2006 UCL final, amazing in the 2008 Euros, saved Barcelona in the 2009 UCL semis, imperious in the 2009 and 2011 UCL finals, scored the winner in the 2010 WC final, completely dominated Euro 2012 start to finish, MOTM in the 2015 UCL final. The best player on the best international team of all time and the 2nd best player on the most dominant team of all time. Modric is probably next after Iniesta in terms of greatness based on what he's accomplished I think Griezmann should be on this list, he's definitely not 3rd but he was the best player on a World Cup winning team, led Atletico Madrid to league titles in the Barca/Madrid superteam era, won La Liga POTS during the Messi/Ronaldo peak. If we count greatness through World Cups and leading your country to a WC as their best player, and in winning things in very difficult circumstances, in terms of greatness he's underrated and unquestionably belongs on a shortlist

I'd argue Ronaldo and Messi overshadowed their generation so much that we forgot to look at how many amazing players we've had aside from the two of them.
From ability stand point and quality it think its obviously Neymar but if we look at career it's either Iniesta or Modric it's up to the personal preference what do you want
There are two options: -First a player that played with Cristiano or Messi and helped them achive the impossible: Like Xavi,Iniesta, Xabi, Modric, Kroos,Benzema, Ozil, Suarez,Neymar ... -Second a player that achived the impossible at their own: Like Zlatan, Muller,Lewandowski, Lahm, Neuer, Salah, De Bruyne, Drogba ...
Well, we should talk Xabi at Liverpool/Bayern, Modric at Spurs, KROOS at Bayern, Benzema at Lyon, Ozil at Arsenal, and Neymar at PSG then. Zlatan played with Messi btw. I agree most Bayern players are amazing but they're collective like prime Madrid and Barca. All of them are achieving something together. Lahm, Lewy, and Xabi are once all teammates but what did they achieve outside Bundesliga and DFB Pokal? they didn't achieve anything else outside those 2. Xabi in Liverpool was truly amazing. Modric at Spurs was the reason Madrid bought him and he fought his way in his early stint. Bayern was just releasing KROOS and the rest is history. Benzema in Lyon is also the same with Modric. Maybe Ozil and Neymar is a downgrade but that's fit your second description especially both play in team with less European history (Neymar in 2020 and Ozil in 2016 truly amazing. Being runner up in prem and UCL. Even 2016>2023-2024 Arsenal)
Bro nobody cares about population. Its about quality. Yes lewandowski won 0 trophirs with poland. But with your logic china would have to have a full squad of messis, ronaldos and neuer

Its so so fcking obvious that the third best player of this generation is neuer,he's an all timer he's in the debate with goalkeeper from previous generations like buffon, casillas and yashin And he have the biggest legacy as a goalkeeper,he's literally the goat of his position
For example if you said that ney is the third best, you still have top wingers like bale, ribery,di maria, robben, salah If you said dani alves is the third best,u still have top wingback like Marcelo, jordi alba, walker, lahm If you said ramos is the third best,u still have pique, vvd, chiellini,t.silva But if u said neuer is the best goalkeeper of this generation, people will agree with you, there are no goalkeeper that as great as neuer in our generation
I don’t care about keepers. Watching goalkeeper highlights is only fun to goalkeepers, only love them and respect for what they do for my club and country.
After watching the whole video I can see that u didnt really add skills of the players wich would make Modrić by far the 3rd Greatest Player Of This Generation

Rooney was a 2005 to 2015 player, not 2010s. During Rooney's reign in PL, Torres and Van Persie overshadowed him for a few years. Then you also had Fabregas, Gerrard and Lampard who were consistently great.
If we are talking pound for pound peak performance, i believe it's Suarez. If we are talking unique skill level it's Iniesta. But perhaps he and Xavi being on the same club and national team at the same time makes them cancel each other out a bit too much. I gotta disagree with this. I’ll never forget the Magician title he was given, he may have been riddled by injuries, but he is undoubtedly great. The other 5 are interchangeable and I don’t have much of a want to scramble, but I’d say this: 6th: Benzema 7th: Dani Alves 8th: Neuer 9th: Xavi 10th: Suarez (sorry)
everyone should understand that winning the ballon d'Or in 2018 against 30+ year messi and ronaldo is hard but iniesta didn't won because he was doing it in the real prime messi and it's was impossible to win

if you look at his 20s it could seem that way but in a few years hindsight i think we will all view neymars career more as a what if than a complete success. i wouldve said he has had the 4th or 5th best career in this generation, much higher than they put him in this video.
i mean at barca he was easily the third best player in the world, but in ligue 1 he never really lived up to expectations. was supposed to be face of the league until his last couple of seasons, when mbappe really emerged as the best player in the league. he also couldve won a ucl with them which i believe was one of if not his main goal. he didnt and instead never made more than 22 league appearances and only played like 60% possible games. i mean he was always injured and chose to give up on his european career at barely 31. so, basically, he followed the same path as eden hazard?? he is a much more talented player than that and could have been so much better. no player who burns out of europe at 31 should be considered the third best of his generation.
Suarez. He did what mmbape couldn’t do. Win champs league with Messi and neymar. Without xavi and iniesta too. Won la liga with athletico after deemed too old by Koeman iirc. Beating messi’s Barca. Along with many other feats

Neymar could've been great at carrying but we can never tell because he spent his prime in Ligue 1 with PSG, all skill aside he didn't have the same competitive fire and intensity. Alves overachieve a lot as the driving force of those Sevilla teams but not the way Suarez did. And a playmaking forward who can create for himself will inherently be more able to carry a team than a finisher who needs support, a midfielder that needs good forwards to actually convert midfield dominance to wins, or a defender
I think you got this right though. Modric is probably next after Iniesta in terms of greatness based on what he's accomplished
I think Griezmann should be on this list, he's definitely not 3rd but he was the best player on a World Cup winning team, led Atletico Madrid to league titles in the Barca/Madrid superteam era, won La Liga POTS during the Messi/Ronaldo peak. If we count greatness through World Cups and leading your country to a WC as their best player, and in winning things in very difficult circumstances, in terms of greatness he's underrated and unquestionably belongs on a shortlist
Griezz doesnt have any good Individual award....He doesnt have a league title,he doesnt have a UCL.

I'd argue Ronaldo and Messi overshadowed their generation so much that we forgot to look at how many amazing players we've had aside from the two of them.
Arjen Robben for me.
From ability stand point and quality it think its obviously Neymar but if we look at career it's either Iniesta or Modric it's up to the personal preference what do you want
There are two options:
-First a player that played with Cristiano or Messi and helped them achive the impossible:
Like Xavi,Iniesta, Xabi, Modric, Kroos,Benzema, Ozil, Suarez,Neymar ...
-Second a player that achived the impossible at their own:
Like Zlatan, Muller,Lewandowski, Lahm, Neuer, Salah, De Bruyne, Drogba ...
Suarez did things on his own in Liverpool.. I would argue he deserve to be on that 2nd list also.
Good perspective my friend
@@Freestyler-rr and him winning laliga with Atletico is a really underrated feat imo

Neymar without a doubt
just because neymar had the third most talent of this generation doesnt mean he actually ended up being the third best player.
Second most talent
Neymar was the third best player. Stop it.
if you look at his 20s it could seem that way but in a few years hindsight i think we will all view neymars career more as a what if than a complete success. i wouldve said he has had the 4th or 5th best career in this generation, much higher than they put him in this video.
i mean at barca he was easily the third best player in the world, but in ligue 1 he never really lived up to expectations. was supposed to be face of the league until his last couple of seasons, when mbappe really emerged as the best player in the league. he also couldve won a ucl with them which i believe was one of if not his main goal. he didnt and instead never made more than 22 league appearances and only played like 60% possible games. i mean he was always injured and chose to give up on his european career at barely 31. so, basically, he followed the same path as eden hazard?? he is a much more talented player than that and could have been so much better. no player who burns out of europe at 31 should be considered the third best of his generation.
