Argentina absolutely deserves to be in this conversation period, but there are just so many complicating factors. The Netherlands, for instance that Spain beat in 2010 was NOT the holding champion at the time nor had (or have) they won it ever. Spain generally won 1-0 games with lots of possession dominance but just like Argentina, had some scary moments. I think while Spain had more control of matches, Argentina were more dominant than their opponents - France didn’t have a shot on target until 80’ and one of Argentina’s best players went off. I think Spain’s Euros win in 2012 was certainly more impressive than Argentina’s Copa just recently, but 2021 and 2008 are ties for me. Argentina also had the tie for longest unbeaten streak in international history and also what I want to see is how they head into 2026. Spain was DREADFUL at World Cup 2014, and we know how often teams underperform after becoming world champions. France was really the first team to break away from that in a bit.

To determine the losses in the time period (2008 euro -12 euro) and (2021 copa -2024 copa), during the tournament and beyond: Spain = 6 losses 1 loss in WC ( Switzerland, 1-0) 1 loss in confederation cup 2009( USA semi, 2-0) 1 loss in friendly against Argenina (4-1, interestingly against Messi's Argentina, in which Messi scored) 1 loss in friendly against Portugal (4-0 against Cr7's Portugal, Cr7 failed to score) 1 loss in friendly against Italy(2-1) 1 loss in friendly against England(1-0) Argentina = 2 losses 1 loss in WC against Saudi (2-1) 1 loss in WC qualifier against Uruguay (2-0) So, 2 losses is definately better than 6 losses, infact Argentina has only lost twice since that 2019 copa america till 2024 copa america if you are thinking Spain dominated for 4 years where as Argentina dominated for 3 years and copa america was played in 2021 which was originally scheduled for 2020 but was moved due to infamous covid outbreak.... 4. Spain 2008-12 and Brazil 1994-2004 should be the top 2. For stand-alone cup winning teams, Brazil 1970, Netherlands 1988, Spain 2008, Spain 2012 & Spain 2024 are contenders. Germany 2006-14, despite one WC win and no Euros wins deserves a shout. They had Ozil, Klose, Muller, Ballack, Lahm, Podolski, Kroos, Hummels, Neuer and many legends. France 1998-2003, despite their 2002 WC flop, won 1 world cup, 1 Euro and 2 Confederations Cups. Zidane, Henry et al lit the stage. Argentina's recent cup wins come from Scaloni moulding the team around Messi. Great winning mindset, but average football.

This is what happens when you do rankings with shallow and surface level knowledge. And having deeper knowledge instead of opening a youtube channel is important. The copa america was never taken serious by brazil . 1959 copa had tons of bad refereeing and it was not even a knockout tournament. And Brazil heavily rotated their team throughout the tournament. Please go and check the lineups. A number of the player of main team didn't even play. And they sent their reserves in next two tournaments. That spain team had won 2 penalty shootouts which if gone in other ways would been a completely different discussion. And funny how this guy picks the copa for brazil (which they used to treat like rehearsal tournament) but not the confederations cup spain played in the middle. France 1998-2000 faced far stronger team that that spanish team as well. A lot of teams were literally in transition phase as well in the world that time too. Whereas France beat one of the best brazilian team ever. Similarly, Germany beat holland who were one of best National team ever. And using the trophy logic, Germany's 3 tournament cycle included the 1970 world cup which was stacked with some of the strongest National teams ever. And four of them were on all-timer level. Compare that to the ones Spain faced LOL. Please use logic. And nobody in right mind would even dare to compare the argentina 2022 team with any of those
Four important points: 1) Argentina’s run is not over, if they win the next world cup they will be the undisputed best. 2) Argentina won the intercontinental trophy in this period, Spain lost after two attempts in 2009 and 2013. 3) Spain ended their run by getting eliminated in the group stage in 2014, you used France’s failure in 2002 against them but didn’t use the same standard against Spain. 4) Spains total wins are for the most part due to easy European qualifiers and many games against semi professional teams.
Your criteria is ridiculous. The Copa America is the oldest continental tournament in existence, yes, but Brazil did NOT give it ANY importance during the 60s, or 70s. In SEVERAL occasions it would happen with just a few countries disputing it, in numerous occasions Brazil didn't even send a team, or when it did, it sent a B or C team. For example, Pelé only played ONE Copa America, at 19 (1959), and never again. So ruling out Brazil 1970 because they didn't win a continental tournament is very, very, VERY dumb.
No, it’s not dumb. Brazil just didn’t win. Period. What if their best players played? We’ll never know. Argentina refused to play in the 34, 38 and 50 WC. Does that take anything away from those WCs? No. You cannot count out a tournament just because a team or group of players refused to play.
@@adrianb3868 It's not only that a country refused to play, it's the tournament itself that wasn't relevant. That's a FACT. It wasn't even called "Copa America" until 1975. Comparing the pre-1975 tournaments to the Copa America of the present is proof of how clueless a person can be.

How about Hungary in the early 50s? They lost only 1 game in 4 years. (Unfortunately, that game was the World Cup final.)
Although, I feel Spain(2008-2012) > Argentina(2021-2024), one has to consider these facts too:

3. To determine the losses in the time period (2008 euro -12 euro) and (2021 copa -2024 copa), during the tournament and beyond:
Spain = 6 losses
1 loss in WC ( Switzerland, 1-0)
1 loss in confederation cup 2009( USA semi, 2-0)
1 loss in friendly against Argenina (4-1, interestingly against Messi's Argentina, in which Messi scored)
1 loss in friendly against Portugal (4-0 against Cr7's Portugal, Cr7 failed to score)
1 loss in friendly against Italy(2-1)
1 loss in friendly against England(1-0)
Argentina = 2 losses
1 loss in WC against Saudi (2-1)
1 loss in WC qualifier against Uruguay (2-0)

The Brazilian teams at the Copa Americas were very rarely the same teams that played at the World Cups.

Spain is miles better than Argentina but if Argentina win the World Cup again they of course will win this debate
I think the old Brazilian team with ronaldinho Ronaldo naziro rivaldo Roberto Carlos and more
great video! keep it up!
Maybe Spain 2008-2012 and Brazil of Pele are greatest teams in XXI and XX century respectively.
The greatest team has to have the greatest player on it. Messi of Argentina and Barcelona :)
Can you do an ballon dor video again
Bro dropped and my day is better now
Bro is definitely from argentina
Spain 2008 (They beat THAT Germany team and again in 2010) and Germany 2014.
Germany 2014 won the world cup
I am Argentinian, but I have to admit Spain is way above every nation.
Spain no doubt about it
At least from the time I watch this sport
1970 Brazil ,only team to win every match in WC
2002 brazil did it too
To put a team of a half century ago better or up to the team of today is nonsense. That applies to individual athletes.
Dude, why do you only count goals against during the knockout stages. Spain lost the first game in the 2010 WC, and had 2 goals against in the group stages. Spain went 0-0 vs Italy in the 2008 euros. In the euros 2012, Spain also went 0-0 vs Portugal. Also, is 2012 Spain tied with Italy 1-1 during the group stages. Spain were not as dominating as you portray them. Furthermore, why didn’t you include the Finalissima? Aren’t you supposed to base your opinion on trophies won. Argentina won 4 while Spain won 3. Both Argentina and Spain lost and tied games during their reign of terror; however, there is one huge difference: Argentina won one more title than Spain did.
Brazil in the 1950s and 1960s sent their B-C team to the Copa America, they would have won 4 trophies in a row if they sent a good team to the copa. do more research next kid, also Brazil golden eras are 1958-1970... 1994-2002.. not just 1958-62 and not 2002-2004.. you know very less kid
If he would of done that he would of had to research every game and goal from that time period so he choose the best 4 years and stop complaining he did the fair thing don't lie you probably never watched their games in your life
@@AdrianAguado-lo5tt all he needed to do is look at their World cup performance.. Brazil 1958-1962-1970 has almost 60 goals in just 18 World cup games, most goals in Knock out stages, 5-2, 4-0, 3-1 in finals, 5-2, 3-0 etc in Semi finals.. no team has dominated like that in the world cup, Spain 2008-2012 scored most of their goals in Friendlies, winning only 1-0, 2-1 etc in World cups
@@mebansharaisantasticokhong7312 most of Brazil's goals where also in the qualifiers and Spain won 4 0 in the final
@@AdrianAguado-lo5tt Spain won only 1 final 4-0.. Brazil win 3 finals with 3+ above goals .. Spain only scored 8 goals in the 2010 WC 😭😭 disgusting football.. Brazil scored 60 goals in 3 WC

What about the Puskas-era Hungary Team?
They didn’t win any trophies apart from the Olympics. This is easily the greatest team which couldn’t win any trophy
Big Messi fan here, I do not think Argentina was the best Nat. team.
How are you saying Spain had easy opponents that's crazzy you must be blind or something
@@AdrianAguado-lo5tt he is counting the qualifiers for World Cup and Euro, half of those games are against amateur and semi professional teams
@@AJayQDR so was Argentina
@@AdrianAguado-lo5tt there are no teams like Liechtenstein in South American qualifiers.
