Beautiful reaction. I remember listening to this at 16/17 years old and it was a magical performance. So much great music since then, but this has raw authenticity, cinematic storytelling, and absolutely astounding musicianship. Sadly that has become increasingly rare in our sample heavy digital culture. Stunning.

I'm so glad you reacted to this so quickly after Sultans of Swing.
    And what a great reaction!
As I said then I was just 18 when this was filmed and I was there at Hammersmith Odeon
I think I should again list who was on the stage that night:
    Mark Knopfler - guitar, vocals
    Alan Clark - keyboards
John Illsley - bass guitar, backing vocals
Hal Lindes - guitar, backing vocals
    Terry Williams - drums
    Additional musicians
    Tommy Mandel - keyboard
Every one of them is world class, best of the best and they were all at the top of their game, I realise even more now what a privilege it was to be there and we are so lucky to be able to watch it now.
Vee, I think you picked up on the atmosphere because you could not sit still!
    Lovely reaction, thanks so much❤❤

Dire Straits was a British rock band formed in London in 1977 by Mark Knopfler.
Mark Knopfler. One of the greatest guitar player and songwriter of all times!
They were active from 1977 to 1988 and again from 1990 to 1995.
Their most commercially successful Album Brothers i Arms (1985) has sold more than
30 million records. Dire Straits were called the biggest British rock band of the 80s by
    Classic Rock magazine.
Thanks Vee! For your. Dire Straits - Telegraph Road. Reaction! 🙂

For your info Mark wrote this after travelling on the Tour Bus into Detroit (Motor City) along Route 24, Telegraph Road. It is a history lesson from the start of the development to the recession.

With this version which is by far the best I love how the audience sings along with them , is a sign of a great song when they do that.
And yet again, just watch how relaxed they are even when they are going nuts so to speak. They are so in tune with each other and so happy it's just pure joy watching them. And OMG the piano is so well used in this song like it's the star along with Mark and his guitar.

Thanks for the reaction! Brothers in Arms (Mandela Live), Tunnel of Love (studio, Wembley or Alchemy live) and Once Upon a Time in the West (Alchemy Live) are some more great songs by Dire Straits well worth checking out :)

Recommendations? Where to start? You can't really go wrong with any Dire Straits song. Sticking with the live performances though, here are a few of my favourite Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler ones:
Tunnel of Love (Alchemy Live or Live at Wembley)
Brothers in Arms (The Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute Concert)
You and Your Friend (On The Night)
I Think I Love You Too Much (Knebworth '90 - featuring Eric Clapton)
Money For Nothing (Music for Montserrat - post-Dire Straits, but Mark Knopfler performing alongside Sting, Eric Clapton and Phil Collins plus an orchestra and choir bopping away having a great time behind them!)
Feels Like Going Home (One Night Only - another post-Dire Straits performance from Mark Knopfler, this time playing guitar for Tom Jones on his TV special)
If This Is Goodbye (Real Live Roadrunning - Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris)
