You put a lot of thought into this one (well, you do so on all your videos!) and useful analogies, esp the frame/painting having just visited a large museum. Ai concur is truly OK to take off a week whenever needed!
I think putting this squarely in the context of auditioning actors, *especially* for newer actors, there's a tendency to OVER ACT our co-star auditions and under act the guest star auditions. Why? Because those smaller co-star auditions feel like we're "doing nothing" when we're actually, in most cases, doing the right amount of acting, which is to say, none...we're just being. So many of those auditions are the occupational role type co-stars (cop, teacher, witness, bus driver, etc.) and the fear is that we're not being seen..."I'm not doing enough, I need to show them I can act" which is, of course, a trap. Another trap, underacting the guest star audition...but that's another conversation :)
Precisely! Thanks, Alex. I once had a CD call me up on the way to their callback saying that I had been giving "Co-star auditions for Guest Star roles". It was the most concise, helpful piece of advice.
Well, I for one am glad this force is at work within YOU...if that is part of what keeps you making these videos. Thank you for doing so. They are part of my healthy diet.
I hate the phrase "bold choices". It leads to actors trying to find odd ways to stand out. I've always said, the boldest choice is to be yourself and just serve the scene. I don't watch my tapes until I'm done, and if I'm not happy with them, I work some more and tape again after a long break. And it took me a few years of self-taping to be able to look at my performance somewhat objectively without beating myself up. As I heard Mark Fincannon say: "Be interested, not interesting" (might be paraphrasing). As far as social media goes, I only post something when I feel a desire to share, not to be seen.

That’s very kind of you to say. Thanks for the feedback!
Great nuggets in here. No one wants to be around someone who "shoulds" themselves. That's just crappy.
I see what you did there 😁
@ Now where’s that role for Dad who likes to tell typical Dad jokes? I’m right here, people!

Do I get a prize for watching and commenting on every video you've done?
Yes! 👍🏻 you’re the big winner, Fred!
