I just saw an x ad for getter robo being in this game. I'd skip these boring cutscenes but not really worth paying full price imo. In game looks better than the anime stuff they have imo so it's weird to clash let alone I'd rather just blast stuff like gundam maxiboost, and that has local 2 player unlike this game.

This game is really good, combat is fun and feels very polished. PS5 version has a 120 FPS mode. It is a contender for Game of the Year for me. Thank you Noisy Pixel for reviewing it.
I have friends who raved about the original Megaton Musashi game. It's awesome that we're getting this sequel in the west. Sounds like it's worth a go!
the sequel also includes all the content(excluding some cross-overs and free-to-play limitations) of the previous entries too so you aren't missing out on anything by starting with wired
There is a free to play on Japan Nintendo switch. (It been there for couple of years. I glad i finally play it last year probably now have over 200 +hours gameplay, level 71 ect. Fun enjoyable experiences that's for sure.

I bought this randomly...Was not expecting to like this game, but it ended up being my favorite release all year. I've never played a game like it with the 2d walk around story then the action combat with the heavy loot drops and leveling system. I need more games like this and I'm not sure where too look. Closest I've found was Dynasty Warriors, which I'm a huge fan of, but its not as great as this. I need more of this. So side note, someone recommend me some more steam games like this. LOVE THIS GAME

I sincerely doubt it will come close to the amount of content offered in megaton musashi. Also, it's bamco, and you know the recent bamco rep regarding Gundam games.
I just hope Gundam Breaker actually has some meat to it. A story, missions, an arcade mode. I miss the Dynasty Warriors Gundam level of action. Sure those are just hack and slash games but there is no good Gundam action happening. Battle Alliance was cute but ultimately a let down. Just nothing is filling that fun action adventure game space at all.

This is a no brainer for fans of gundam breaker or a nice PSO/Monster hunter style loot grind. Im 90 hours deep already and still itching for more. And to anyone off put by the battle pass: its just items and consumables you can already obtain in game. The premium pass is just more of those same items and is a one time purchase with the deluxe edition. Its extremely unintrusive. All of the leftover "free to play bullshit" from the prior free to play version has been completely retooled and outside of the one time deluxe pass purchase, none of it is purchaseable with money. The only microtransactions left over are some pilot cosmetics and some victory screen emotes.

Are you sure the story is 30 hours long? I'm at 50+ hours, wasn't grinding much, and I'm still in the middle of season 2. Yes, this game consists of 3 seasons megaton musashi, megaton musashi X, and the third, not yet broadcasted. So if the game offers you to start a new game + it's far from over.
He must have sped through that with next to no side content(which like every level-5 game is the real meat and potatoes gameplay-wise) in order to get the review out
It probably naturally around 80+ or 100+ hours because they added the whole main storyline plus also you have to grind level up bit more at times to finally complete further missions. Plenty of content all around.

The soundtrack is 🔥 Such a shame there’s no physical version of this game, I thought level -5 might’ve gone to make a deal with the (evil) limited run games for physical distribution but alas that didn’t seem to be the case….speaking of which, kind of annoyed that Lolipop Chainsaw RePop is one of those LRG physical distribution deals….so much for hoping to pick it up more easily without having to deal with the likes of LRG’s….and they’re sluggish as hell distribution process.
I will finally buy the game when it's 50% off in a few days, I'm buying one copy for me and one for my son. I would have bought it sooner if they had released it physically.
If you think this is good then you missed about danball senki games. The mech gameplay is definitely heavily influenced by their danball senki games. Danball Senki games were proper RPG + Mecha games.

My biggest question is how did it run on Switch? Combat wise the game is giving me Gundam Breaker vibes where as the customization menus remind me of Super Robot Wars.
For the first part I was interested in sort of the narrative / visual novel side of the game more But man once the mech combat came onto screen, it’s hard to not be thinking about Armored Core 6. And the comparison is pretty rough with this game’s mech combat.
I think they're different, even their focus. Musashi is focused on narrative in some parts and directed towards anime and old anime mecha fans I think, and is more accessible for more public like me a clumsy person that souls like stuff is like a nightmare to handle.
The gameplay comparison is dumb for they're not only two different styles of gameplay but also two different styles of mecha, Armored Core is real robot Megaton Musashi is Super Robot

This game includes contents from the original game released in 2021 and the mobile game sequel Megaton Musashi X. The battlepass stuff is a holdover from the mobile game. I also think it's unsightly but it doesn't affect the game and is just free bonus items you'll randomly get. That said, there is a permanent battlepass unlock in the deluxe edition. I would advise not getting that as you get showered in items.
Mobile gacha game with some of the p2w removed,(not even sure they actually removed any p2w since there is still battlepass, dungeons limited by key and other generic mobile trash methods of limiting you) and a 50$ price tag. Ah yes, so good.
