Many new handheld gaming devices cannot run the new forza Motorsport games b/c it’s optimized like sh!t, to the point of borderline brokenness. Not only can the deck run it, but it can run it at high setting & get 90 fps, which was a result I was not expecting, using lossless scaling. A windows steam deck OLED is one of the underrated pieces of tech you are ever gonna find. A steam deck that has Linux installed is basically a coaster. If you don’t install windows 11 on this device you are doing it all wrong. I don’t know what to tell you😂 in no world does a steam deck run as if it’s underpowered while using Lossless scaling. Yeah it can’t do 1080p that just reserves more power for the resolution if is running. The OLED display compensates for the rest. But it’s gotta be the OLED version b/c you’ll be missing that lost resolution w/ LED.
There is a reason why the deck is not windows. 1) widows sucks, its wastes so many resources and is difficult to use. 2) Microsoft wants to control and own everything, there is no room for innovation 3) Only microcrap will be making money.
@@perkunast9680 lossless scaling is everything & if you are a pc gamer & you are nig using it then it’s your loss. Not only can you triple your fps in an official capacity but it is downloading frames almost like streaming them from a cloud it’s like how you can stream a game your system doesn’t have the specs to run. There’s no doubt in my mind that when you exceed the number of your display with this tech then that you are still getting those frames. You can down 120-150 fps even tho the steam deck only has a 90 hertz display. There is no a damn thing Linux of SteamOS can do to touch this tech. If can offer 100 different other minor features or tweaks & I’d all of them in for that frame downloading generation. If you saw it in action for 5 minutes there is no way you would go back again. I makes no sense. It’s like going back to a black & white television after owning your first color television for a week. lool
Yes it's overhyped, still a good handheld. It fits a niche, just like all handhelds do. Though it is a bit annoying its users think it's the best. It is the best, for YOU. Just like the Rog Ally is the best for ME. You need to take a look at the most played games in order to see what the average consumer would play: PUBG, Naraka, COD, GTA V, Elden Ring, CP2077, Throne and Liberty, Stardew Valley, MHW, Black Myth Wukong, Warframe, etc. And those are just the games from Steam, in reality you need to add in Overwatch 2, Minecraft, and many more. You see a pattern here? Most are demanding games, and competitive games too. Just like in my case, I got the ally cause it was the best price for the performance. I don't care about the battery, I can get a power bank. Screen size is good enough for me, and OLED isn't enough for me to justify playing in half or less the fps. Most people play a match of overwatch/cod whatever, beat a boss on elden ring/black myth wukong, or fool around in GTA V and that's it. From the stard, OW/COD and most competitive games aren't viable for the SD. GTA V doesn't even work on the SD, and you're left with 30 fps for the remaining games. That's why I said it fits a niche. If you're the type that likes to emulate, plays Hallow Knight, Ori, Stardew Valley, Dead Cells and so on. The this is the perfect device for you no questions asked. But MOST players aren't like that, as you can see by the average chart. So I don't get why people always recommend the Steamdeck. You think John over here would rather play his cod match in 40fps or 120 fps? You like to emulate, play cozy non demanding games, indie games, and so on? Steam deck for sure. You want performance? Rog Ally. You want performance and a bigger screen? Legion go. You want to try new stuff, with more performance than the SD and less than the ally/lego? Onexplayer. This is the market so far. And most surveys do show that the majority of players would rather have more fps than better graphics (surveys that are usually done by consoles like PS5 or XBOX). Why do you think handhelds would be any different? Again, I wish biased SD owners would understand that before recommending SD to EVERYONE. I don't recommend the Rog Ally for everyone, because while it is for the majority, there's still other niches. Edit: It's extra annoying when fanboys say you can tinker with the SD and install epic games and play GTA V and whatnot. So? Usually your main argument for the SD is "It's just like a console, plug and play, windows sucks!" cause other handhelds can also easily Install Bazzite and have the steamdeck experience. So the only argument left would be the OLED screen, and I promise you most people would choose TRIPLE the fps, longevity, 120/144hz, VRR, battery life (in the case of the rog ally x) and many more the steamdeck doesnt have instead of an OLED screen. Why do you think the average gamer's monitor is IPS or VA? A 24 inch OLED isn't crazy expensive, and if you can afford a handheld you can definitely afford an oled monitor for your pc.
@@dv_interval42 I've been wondering this too after seeing just how many people are in the comments sections of videos comparing this with the Ally X of people saying they wanna play the new COD or the new AC or whatever on a handheld device and I'm like, why, those types of games are not a a good fit for portable gaming at all

I sold mine for an Ally and didn't regret it. I got the Ally X now and really don't regret it. The Steam Deck is overrated and limited since it can only run steam.
I mean, you can install windows on it if you want? Plus since it’s Linux based you can install anything a Linux computer can. Meaning emulators, heroic game launcher, etc.
You may not enjoy the steam deck but is not overatted even ally is not overrated both pushing the market forward. Now if we can get Microsoft do a controller friendly ui as it holds back the ally little and others. But it's been months seem they working on it but is not top to do list other then AI.
The deal breakers for me with the SD are: (1) It uses Linux which means you can't use Nexus Mods (aka the best thing about PC gaming) (2) It's too weak. 25fps is a crime against humanity at this point. Would I use it if I found one in-box on the floor for free? Yes. I wouldn't even pay $200 for one and definitely not $650.
A lot of modders make Linux versions of their mods now actually due to the steam deck. I agree it is too weak, but it depends on what you actually play. But most games will run better than you expect. But have you played with one first hand before? Because my first handheld was the ally and I even made a few shorts on it and got told off by deck fanboys. I argued with them about how much better the ally was. I didn’t understand the appeal until I got one for myself. I always try to keep an open mind now regardless of brand or opinions of others.
Yeah, but it’s 30fps on a handheld on a small screen. 30 is actually very serviceable. I mean even on the ROG Ally/Legion Go I lock it to 30-40fps bc of battery constraints most of the time.

I don't use my PC, switch, or older consoles anymore. Everything is on the deck now. 10 months after my purchase, I'm still in my honeymoon phase with it.
Its still my go to whenever i want to play for a short amount of time!
I bought the rog Ally X drained it and charged it four times today, all while tweaking it. for less than 35 minutes of gameplay. Too many microstutters, I'm going to go my original route and buy the OLED deck. After I return this thing
What were you tweaking? Serious question. Debating on buying steamdeck oled or ally x. Steam deck has ease of use experience.
He's taking rubbish . the Ally X has fantastic battery .
Sold my rog ally x too. All buttons stop working while playing game. Reinstall windows everything still happen. Planning to get an oled sd soon
@@adolfbilic8622 the Ally X literally has a better battery than the SD, there's already plenty of tests on youtube that show that. SD fanboys are trying to cope so hard they resort to misinformation or straight up lies
@@wiselyomar2695 I have an ally too. It's in the guide, and it doesnt take a genius to figure out. You have this little button called "Change Mode" in your control panel. It switched between Desktop, Gamepad, and Auto. Games won't work unless you switch it to, you guessed it, gamepad. As desktop is considered keyboard and mouse. This is like not plugging in the controller in a PS5 (as you need to do in order for it to get recognized on the first use) and complaining that the PS5 sucks. Your user error doesn't make the device bad. But yes, steamdeck is easier to handle for idiots, so do go for it, I'm sure you'll have an easier time.
Cool video man. Nice!
bugs was posted by competitor, it's funny whenever i bought a game or device the news that spread around is the bugs, but never once i encounter the bugs
Why have a kickstand? Wouldn’t match the rest of the design. It’s designed to be held in your hands, and it does that well. Its design and optimization is what puts it above the rest. At least in this moment of time.
dunno, steamdeck has worth shape for my hands, i literally cannopt reach the most buttons without additional movements. Hence i've ended up with lenovo go and i love it. amazing device, tons of potential, with its downsides each device has, but honestly im very satisfied
My fav oled device to emulate tv console games like ps2 with v good batt life, controls and screen
I wish I had a $1,000 to get it. I would upgrade the ssd and the shell with the buttons and stream it.
I like my SD OLED but it is a little underpowered. Unless you're always playing indie titles you'll want a bit more power.
It is definitely underpowered, but tbh on a handheld its okay for me at least because I am used to the switch, 3ds, psp and etc lol in comparison to that this is great ahaha
Load of rubbish. So what if it doesn't play Cyberpunk at 90fps?
@@Nickbaldeagle02 some people want the option of playing AAA titles at a decent FPS.
@@kybalion5205 they can whistle. Go buy a gaming PC.
@@Nickbaldeagle02 Search some surveys mate. Most games would rather have increased FPS than beautiful graphics (or in this case an OLED screen). It's not about not playing CP2077 at 90 fps, it's about not even hitting 40, let alone 60 fps on most AAA games. I couldn't handle playing on 30fps. Some games feel good with it (like TLOU) but others like Ghost of Tsushima just feel horrible after coming from a 144hz monitor with a gaming pc. If you can handle it, great, good for you, then this is your device. But for the majority, and the average consumer, it's not. In what world is 25-30fps acceptable in 2024?
It can replace gaming Laptops. Emerging APUs and upcoming NPUs,the next generation of handheld is far beyond our imagination. This is 1st generation, and it’s surprisingly waay to good to be true with the performance, hardware, software, the whole package of SteamDeck OLED is awesome.
I have very high hopes for the Steam Deck 2 and the next gen windows handhelds! Especially when the nvidia Switch 2 will come out and probably impress a lot of people with its capability!
It cannot replace laptops but handhelds are another versatile way of playing pc games . ... Of course they can't replace laptops though .
Too weak... damn, in my memories I've had amazing fun controlling small line bouncing off pixel from left to right, and that shit wasn't even portable! Where we'd gone...
Bring on the Steam Deck 2
I'm ready for it!
I have both but if I had to pick one I would keep the Steam Deck no doubt about it
I love my steam deck oled, makes the stress of dealing with melanoma better
Never regretted buying steam deck, it's just awesome, even better if you have less time on the big screen or travel a lot. I wish sony make new handheld device capable of running my vita,ps4 and ps5 backlog without streaming or internet
I heard that sony has discussed handheld chips from AMD for, possibly, PS6 doesn't mean they will make one, but it wouldn't shock me at all.
i have the original steam deck and i absolutely love it. i havn't tried other handhelds, but the steam deck is awesome. would be even better with the oled screne.
They've made one.
720p is fine for that size of screen. 1080p is great for monitors and tv's.
I like the idea of the steam deck but I have a love affair with my big ass screen PC. ❤
its the best handheld
can ur switch run gta5 60fps on high
steam OS is the magic sauce
I had both. After testing I kept the Ally.
@Tyler-l5swell asus broke my og z1 extreme so I'm playing my lcd deck while waiting on the oled to be delivered, latest update to the og ally makes it 100% useless and I'd not give this thing away let alone sell it, when my deck oled comes I'm taking a sledge hammer to this bug filled windows handheld, decks a proper handheld.
@@TheMasterblaster32Its ok mate not everyone has the 2 braincells require to properly setup a rog ally/legion go. I'm glad Steam made their handhelds as idiot proof as possible, so guys like you can handle it. Cope harder.

I own a steam deck oled and i think if we want a better steam deck in the future we have to support and nothing is free and easy, by the time i really enjoy my steam deck and i don't regret buying it

It’s like going back to a black & white television after owning your first color television for a week. lool

gonna wait one or two more generations to come, hes strugglint in AAA games like FF16, horizon zero dawn etc...
I just can't get over the fact that Xbox PC Game Pass doesn't work on the Steam Deck. That's a huge dealbreaker for me.
Nice video Maluma
My volume was at 100 and this mf somehow turned it to 200

Exactly, just completely missing the point of the device.

@@ZaberfangXfunny enough Windows 8 would have been good. Seems Microsoft were a bit ahead of time in that regard 😂
Not overrated by any means. Had my sd oled for months and I’d pick it over an ally any day.
I guess if you really want to run spyware on your handheld, the Deck isn't your best option...
Maybe it's just me or does this guy look and sound like ai ??
You’re the first one to figure it out! Yep, I’m an advanced ai distributed by DARPA to learn what products humans want.
maybe shout less
The deal breakers for me with the SD are:
(1) It uses Linux which means you can't use Nexus Mods (aka the best thing about PC gaming)
(2) It's too weak.
I have a steam deck and run mods on all the Betheda games. Dont really think that's an issue
Why you screaming at me
Just get a ps5😂
More time gaming at 30 fps or lower 😅
Yeah, but it’s 30fps on a handheld on a small screen. 30 is actually very serviceable. I mean even on the ROG Ally/Legion Go I lock it to 30-40fps bc of battery constraints most of the time.
