I agree. The Chinese is collecting our data, is a weak argument imo. We throw away our data to anyone who wants it, Amazon, Google, most other social medias too. Their only claim is that tik tok is Chinese, and this form of data collecting is more like data farming, whereas collecting information through traditiional legal and illegal methods is more like data mining.
I was against tik-tok too, it didn't take long to find out once i was on it why the fake administration wanted to get rid of it back then too. There are tons of people exposing the goverment, our hidden history, all the lies, about food, health you name it. Relentlessly. Google / Fakebook and Instagram are BLEACHED versions of the internet aka ''we only want you to see this - focus on this and nothing else. It's population control my freind. Sure there is a bunch of silly stuff on there too, but not if it's not in your Algorythm.
Seems like government knows how to encourage good behavior through the passing of laws. Banning free speech isn't good behavior.
Sometimes they do, but sometimes they are a train wreck. Politically Correct curtailing of speech is destroying the West.
They should spend their time taking down the scammer or hackers that everyday interfere everyone's security.

Whats the over/under date on when Congress will try to ban Trump's social media channel?
I know there are a lot of doubters about Tulsi, but we need to really move on from that and see where she's at now. I think faulting her for her past (primarily as a Democrat), is not the right approach. She is doing everything she can to right those wrongs, but there are a few of us 'staunch' anti-Tulsi peeps that need to get on board and judge her for what she is striving to be now, and support her as much as possible to help her help herself.

This isn't censorship, it's more like an import ban. It's like saying an import ban on a certain type of pen paper or even electronic device is censorship, no it is not. Nobody's freedom of speech is being taken away. The various platforms and their algorithms are more guilty of this than anything.

Those were separate legislation. Foreign aid was bundled with one or both of those bills when proposed, but they weren't bundled together, and were passed on different dates.
Its literally a digital Skinner Box. There must be legal arguments to ban it.

I'm sorry to say my congressman who is no longer my congressman had a big hand in getting this legislation through. The go to line for its supporters is that it is for national security interests that it either be sold or banned. Meanwhile, our border is wide open, while Ukraine's is defended with our tax dollars. So much for national security. If the Chinese want information on individual Americans badly, all they have to do is cross our porous southern border which is being watched by the wandering eye and mind of Mr. Potato Head.
Ukraine hit the 10 floor block of apartments in Belgorod in Russia making a giant hole from 1 to the last floor, 16 flats collapsed. Kids died, a newborn baby is in the hospital with burnt face and neck. Many died, wounded, missing. Not a word about it in the NYT, Washington Post, Politico, Economist. Imagine what photographic drama they'd make out of it this was Ukraine.

I support the ban of this code on the same grounds Huawei network equipment is banned. This 25 uniform saw the results of how this code acts on a device even after it’s ‘deleted’. The device has to be reset to new in order to remove its tracking and monitoring code. Why this isn’t explained to the country is unclear. I do know that this platform here is shilling ads for this malware so suspect large amounts of money are involved

No, tiktok is harmful to Americans and America and this is more like banning an import or imposing trade sanctions. If action is on the source and distribution and not on illegally searching citizens' property, I support it.
