Its probably better for the contractor that they made him go through this before the roof collapsed on that families head and he gets charged with Manslaughter...
the reason it is so low is because he expects the show to foot the bill as part of the cost of doing business, unfortunately when they have criminal charges on you(unlicensed contracting) You are pretty much screwed with no lube.... never sue someone who is in a position to send you to jail
Well I am an apprentice carpenter and it's guys like this that make my job a whole lot harder I'm trying to make a name for myself and it's people like that that really screw me over
+say123ist How is your apprenticeship going? I am going to be in the field of hazardous waste soon, and would love one day to learn proper carpentry and masonry skills.
Dude,, what this contractor has done has nothing to do with you. Just do your job to the best of your ability and the best of your knowledge, and you will be rewarded for the work of your hands.
I've never seen the bodyguard hold anyone at the door. In fact, in one of the episodes, the bodyguard opened the door for the 'contractor' that was walking out. I think the bodyguard was there just in case the 'contractor' attacks?!?!?!!!??
So the shady contractor who stole money did a shitty job is now suing wow like everything he admitted to on his job did not happen he is now worried about his professional reputation
This is a prime example of why it is important that if you are contractor and take on jobs, you don't sub it out except for electrical, HVAC or plumbing. No matter what, a real contractor should know his stuff and only sub out to reputable sources who won't leave you in these predicaments. In say Florida for example, a building contractor can swap 4 years of college credits and 1 year supervisory position for 5 years experience with 1 being supervisory to obtain a license. Which one would you prefer? Most of the college bookworms don't know anything besides business, finance and what subcontractors tell them to be true. It's not too cool.
Well first he needs to admit that he work on a home improvement project without a license, took the money from the owner and left the property under construction. Plus no planning to come back to finish the job. Then he can say what ever he wants after that.
MadMetalManiac74 so you saw one side of the story on a tv show that uses drama to get people to watch? Did you believe everything on the Jerry Springer show?
As wrong as it may be, you CANNOT hold someone against their will. You're kidnapping. That's holding someone hostage. That's illegal. And to be filming someone like that, I'm hoping none of this is real. But if the contractor is wrong, He can sue everybody involved in this. The way they handled this contractor is all wrong.
Trino Ponce....i did not see that punk held at gun point either, someone being physically large and african american mere presence does not constitute a threat of violence, that is straight up discrimination they had all kinds of staff there...... they basically threatened him with lawsuits and criminal charges of doing work without a license and causing legitimate grievances to the homeowner The legal action they threatened him with is directly attributable to Jeff's own illegal conduct which directly caused the homeowner harm, that is not "extreme duress" that is facing the consequences of your own criminal activity, its like threatening someone with jail time when they robbed you, you have every right in the world to do that
Alex McDowell once again I'll tell you just like I told all the other people you do not have to be held at gun point for illegal restraint and illegal imprisonment. I've seen a lot of people win cases for illegal imprisonment and there was no gun involved.
Pethros Uriahson you need to learn the law also he was imprisoned illegally and he did sign under extreme duress it doesn't matter what he did it matters what was happening at the time that he had to sign the piece of paper. He's going to get his settlement most likely
David Rubin most of these cases settle out of court and that's probably why he's only asking for $25,000 cuz they will just pay up out of the insurance instead of going to court which will cost them tens of thousands of more dollars get a clue about the law and how courts and lawsuits work
I don't think anybody has the right to show your fase on tv show to make rating, it iligal,, now he did wrong yes, but he has the right not to be on the show
You trolls don’t seem to get it if he wins the show is over. You do not have the right to kidnap anyone and guess what people are serving years in prison for never touching never hurting but making a threatening situation where people feel they can’t leave. Even when the door is open no restraints are used ect. Trust me I’m on the shows side but from a legal stand point he has a strong case
Good on this guy he has money I seen this episode he is rich and lives in a 4 million dollar house. Never piss off a rich person he will definitely win this law suit
The bodyguard is for if someone attacks them, so Adam and Skip don't get sued. As far as the camera guy on the door? Yeah, that's shady. But that's the first time I've ever seen them not let someone leave. They TRY and make them stay so the job can get done but they don't hold the door.
Don’t know what happened to the court case but this guy is no longer in the construction business. However, he does hold the title of “senior investment banking associate” with SOLVE capital group in Orange County. I hope he’s doing a better job handling his client’s money than he was as a contractor. I wouldn’t trust him though.
what the hell do you think, his case is basically this, "they outed me as a criminal, exposed my criminal enterprise and now everyone knows i'm a crook" they have proof of him illegally working without the proper licenses, which is a crime breach of contract, and they can simply threaten to jail him for doing illegal work, if he doesn't back down(1 other contractor already got sent to jail as a result of the show) do you really think he is going to see a penny from these people, they will happily jail him in order to effectively cripple his ability to proceed with his lawsuit, the judge is inclined to tell him to go screw himself and the jury would have to knowingly reward him for being a crook, they don't give day passes out of jail so you can sue people
I'm not happy with a lot of the work, but it wasn't me that did the work. (He claimed) This is why I accept responsibility for the actions I'm in charge of. As a computer programer do you honestly think I'd get away with saying, "Linux is FreeWare I just installed it on my Mac. If it doesn't work blame Linus Torvalds." No; If I cannot fix it then I wouldn't be professional if I charged money. If I went to court for $25,000 I'd beat my own self up. Sometimes you lose money it's a calculated risk, Brah.
If he would have done the work like he was paid too, he wouldn’t have been on the show. His “ character “ came into play when he screwed people over. Now he is crying about it. Figures!
thank you, he wants to sue people for outing his crooked ass as a criminal, does he really think he is going to get a damn cent here he is working without a contractor's license, they are in a position to have him sent to jail if he doesn't drop his lawsuit,
How is it absurd? Ive done contracting work before and im a licensed electrician. The shit ive seen in the show, even this episode, is just shit work. These contractors who are doing shit outta their scope and pocketing money happens. Ive cleaned up jobs before and i know others who do the same.
He is not suing against the home owners. The show he is suing. By your bogus left wing thought process it is completely OK for them to ambush him, illegally hold him hostage & force him against his will. He has every right to sue. If this happened to you you would also sue.
Raven Ghostly .....I don't look at the world in terms of right wing and left wing.... i look at it in terms of right and wrong.... some lawsuits are legitimate others are bullshit.,...and this contractor's lawsuit is utter horseshit, this guy is a crook who wants to whine, moan and bitch when those he fucks over don't sit still and take it, illegal my ass, and even if it were i have no moral qualms whatsoever with ambushing someone and exposing them as a crook on video, let me reiterate fuck anyone who does, mainly you also illegally holding him hostage means gunpoint, threats of violence and manhandling dumbass, not threats of legitimate charges for crimes this asshole actually committed By your dumbass logic, people would have to let someone rob them, defraud them, mug them and or vandalize their business or home and not be allowed to press charges or threaten criminal charges or lawsuits if they don't pay for the damage.... Any crook who is upset he is on camera can go fuck himself, no lube
I like how the attorney said his client was going to finish the job before he was ambushed. Suuure. Lmao.
This little pansy wrecked his name all by himself. He was lucky they gave him a choice and didn't just go straight to court.
This was the guy who was trying to be a model. Just wants publicity
Hes suing for 25k?... chump change
If you are appearing on Catch a Contractor...you have no professional reputation to damage.
He has to have some type of reputation to own a Gucci jacket
Not defamation if its true
I miss that show.
I miss the show
They screwed up filming in California, criminals always win in California.
Its probably better for the contractor that they made him go through this before the roof collapsed on that families head and he gets charged with Manslaughter...
The American way, do a crappy job and sue
He is a crook.
Only fraud is from the contractor
Only 25k I go into the millions
the reason it is so low is because he expects the show to foot the bill as part of the cost of doing business, unfortunately when they have criminal charges on you(unlicensed contracting) You are pretty much screwed with no lube.... never sue someone who is in a position to send you to jail
He should have done the job the right way to begin with. Dude just wants money.
Well I am an apprentice carpenter and it's guys like this that make my job a whole lot harder I'm trying to make a name for myself and it's people like that that really screw me over
+say123ist How is your apprenticeship going? I am going to be in the field of hazardous waste soon, and would love one day to learn proper carpentry and masonry skills.
but it's guys like this that keep u working and making money!! lol
Dude,, what this contractor has done has nothing to do with you. Just do your job to the best of your ability and the best of your knowledge, and you will be rewarded for the work of your hands.
Do the job right the first time around.
There's a window, escape through the window.
He didnt even try to leave!
i hate this crap a contractor stole more than 50k from me and then lien my properties claiming I owe him money 3 times higher the contracts amount
CROOK HE IS THAT

I saw that episode......would have done the same thing if I could. that contractor was a COMPLETE hack. no doubt about it.
MadMetalManiac74 so you saw one side of the story on a tv show that uses drama to get people to watch? Did you believe everything on the Jerry Springer show?
U get what u pay for . Get a few quotes and don't just take the cheapest
As wrong as it may be, you CANNOT hold someone against their will. You're kidnapping. That's holding someone hostage. That's illegal. I thought the same thing
Wow 25,000? I heard 25 and expected the next word to be million, the typical California suit is outrageous these days
Aww. The little pretty boy lost money to buy more name brand clothing.
$25.000 ? Lets see after court costs lawyer fees restitution etc. No money left
David Rubin most of these cases settle out of court and that's probably why he's only asking for $25,000 cuz they will just pay up out of the insurance instead of going to court which will cost them tens of thousands of more dollars get a clue about the law and how courts and lawsuits work
If the contractor would have done the job right in the first place
lol hillarious
Everybody have a first time
If he was honest well.......
His character looks even worse now.
I don't think anybody has the right to show your fase on tv show to make rating, it iligal,, now he did wrong yes, but he has the right not to be on the show
Fyi. Mike Holmes has been sued 7 times
Lol court....if I was the owner I would just of beat his ass in the living room.
He did a shit job and I think he should pay back everything he owes but I also don't think it's okay for the show to not let him leave...
You trolls don’t seem to get it if he wins the show is over. In reality he'll win or they'll settle as unfortunate as that is.
Good on this guy he has money I seen this episode he is rich and lives in a 4 million dollar house. Never piss off a rich person he will definitely win this law suit
When the claims are true, they aren't defamation.
we always only hear one side of the story but not the penny paying homeowner. then we have these know it all guys who show up staying what's wrong
The bodyguard is for if someone attacks them, so Adam and Skip don't get sued. As far as the camera guy on the door? Yeah, that's shady. But that's the first time I've ever seen them not let someone leave. They TRY and make them stay so the job can get done but they don't hold the door.

Lol..... What a wussy. He should have just walked out of there.
Did he win the case and got his 25k?
what the hell do you think, his case is basically this,

Raven Ghostly True. He has every right to sue. And lose. Because he's a snake.
A right winger defending a lying, cheating scumbag. Shocking.
