Feels like a good place to put my opinion on this show: L won, totally. To explain, I'll cover each character's goals. L believes thet he is justice. That murderers most be caught and eliminated, regardless of the means needed. Remember, he illegally detained Misa with no more evidence than his initial arrest. And in Japan, if you arrest someone and can't get any more evidence after a certain period, they have to let you go. L ignored that. L doesn't care about the means as long as he wins. In the battle against Kira, L's win condition is PROVING Light is Kira. Not just getting him arrested. L wants proof because it's not fair if he can't. Sure, most of the world would believe him if he said it was Light due to his reputation, but that's not enough. Light's goal is to avoid detection. To rule the world as Kira until he dies of natural causes. He denies the eyes for this very reason, saying he wants to live a long life. So how did L win? Because his win condition doesn't require him to be alive. L knew Whammy's House existed, so why would he name Light his successor if he was aware of a whole orphanage of L successors in the wings? The answer is that, in naming Light the next L, he forced Light into a position where Light would either need to refuse and look very suspicious, as the Light others see would absolutely want Kira dead for killing L, or accept and join the investigation. Since Light did accept, this means he's forced to interact with L's TRUE successor, and becomes suspect #1 despite all the evidence being erased. Light is forced to deal with a new opponent who doesn't play like L does. Two, actually. And since Light idolized his rivalry with L, he totally underestimates Near and Mello, and they end up bringing about his downfall by proving Light is Kira. L surviving was not necessary. Think of it like sacrificing the queen in chess. L, the queen, is the strongest piece on the board. But played smartly enough, you can make that loss into a trap that screws the opponent.

@@ol_ogg1606 Ikr. And yeah, count me in for the Light Hating gang. That man totally deserved that ending and I am not a bit sad for him.
L always knew that Light was Kira, its just eventually he started to think of light as a friend, so it was too painful to accuse him. Also he did'nt have sufficent evidence
He didn't actually see light as a friend he said that to manipulate him the author said L wouldn't actually make friends with anyone since he sees Humans as a cunning species
This hit Light extra hard because he probably just calculated the best thing to say in that moment. There were seldom times where Light doesn’t think before speaking to L. The kindest way to say, “I know this is BS so please be honest with me. You’ve won anyway.”
yes and there was no scene with a church or talking to watari at that time. in the mange L didnt predict what would come to him but he knew Light would be Kira. Thats why he wanted to find out if the book is real including the 13 days rule.
That scene was powerful for many reasons. L knew for a good chunk of the show that Light was kira, but PROVING it was the struggle. This scene was basically him admitting defeat to Light and saying he'd won, but also letting it out that L KNEW it was Light, but couldnt do anything about it.
It is funny that light is like "I won i am better than you L" all with the help of misa and 2 shinigami the 2nd of which sacraficed herself to save misa by killing L meaning light didnt really beat L a shinigami did.
I always consider that L didn't think of dying as a loss. His death assisted Near and Mellow in catching Kira. That was always his goal, no matter the cost, even at the expense of his own life.
That's something that occurred to me when I came back to the series recently. L was essentially playing the game without knowing any of the rules. He was at a major disadvantage and still nearly won. I can see now that L was by far the superior mind, just not by enough.
Light has every advantage at the start. He was an anonymous nobody in a population of billions, a guy with a secret magic notebook that nobody knew about which could remotely kill targets anywhere in the world with zero physical evidence. They didn't even know what country he lived in. And yet L just kept closing in on him the whole time.
We all knew L would eventually figure out that Light was Kira because of how skilled he was. Ever since L pulled the trick the day of the broadcast and found out that he was in Japan. He couldn’t figure out how Light was doing it and knew there was a chance that whatever it was he was using had the chance of killing him. He was revealing the advantage, that Light had over him. Therefore, he knew that he may be doomed. It was an “Okay you got me” kind of moment.
I heard those bells one day... somehow I took another street that day and a major accident happened that day....u have no idea how loud those bells were ringing that day
The sad fact that L was going to prove that light is kira but haven’t got time since rem killed him L figured it out that light is kira and misa is the second kira But his problem was with that “Fake” rule so he was going to test it and after that he would pretty much prove that light was kira
L couldn't get the evidence and knew he had already been outplayed. He went in to his last gambit already knowing it wouldn't work and he had lost. He saw it coming, but didn't know how
When L saw Light pick the note up, his expression gives it all up. Also, when Misa meets Remu again, and gets told light is Kira, she begins to obey him, and L also makes weird expressions when it happens
I mean it's interesting that light ego is his greatest weapon and weakness simultaneously it was his ego that laid it him to defeat L but it was his ego in the first place that led him to the need to defeat L.
L never considered Light to be his friend he said that to manipulate Light. The author said that L never saw Light as a friend and L would never be friends with someone due to him seeing humans as a cunning species.
I won’t spoil it and recommend those who haven’t seen Death Note to watch it…. But I will say when me and my husband saw the ending we cheered and celebrated lmao
Fun fact, that is 100% anime original and in the manga he just dies mid though. It's actually a bit sad. The mangaka vision and opinion on death is that there is no hell or heaven after death, only "mu"(nothingness), and this is shown in both L death, and Light death, they just die like that, no hint about souls or premonitions or anything. Actually we get a flashback at the end of manga that I don't think it's in the anime. Remember when Light asked Ryuku if he will take his souls for using the death not? He said there are no penalties like thst but, then: "don't think that any human who's used the death note can go to Heaven or Hell. You'll find out about that after you die" "can't go to Heaven or Hell. That's told me everything, Ryuk" "huh? What?" "It just means that there is no Heaven or Hell, right?" "!... You really are something. I though all humans seriously believed in Heaven and Hell, but... Yeah, you're absolutely right. There is no Heaven or Hell. No matter what you do while you're alive, everybody goes to the same place once you die. Death is equal " I love both the anime and manga, but I must say, the anime makes Light more human while the manga makes him more of a cold blooded serial killer.
L is someone who looks at the minute delay before killing according to the usual schedule as evidence against Light after contacting him so from this you can know why .
The death of L gave me chills. How that mf Light was holding him while giving him the evil smile and saying through his eyes "Yeah mf that Kira was me the whole time"

This 🤯🔥
keeping coping, kara outplayed L till his eventually death
@@Navi-Arch Stellar rebuttal.
It took me literally 5 years to resume the show after he died…
I still can’t watch it to this day
@@dezxyo5390So you never saw Light's "ending", when he sees the ghost of L directly in front of him, criss crossing his vision with chains? He never escaped L to his last breath.
L was like a crewmate that always knew who the imposter was, but just couldn’t find enough evidence to prove it..
L always knew light was kira he just didnt have the evidence to prove it to the ppl
The most interesting fact about this anime is that we felt the same sadness and sorrow on both L's and Light's death we admired them both equally they were the epitome of intelligence in fiction honestly imagine if they worked together
You ADMIRED light? Bro, you need help. The dude is a mass murderer. God knows what he would do if he succeeded in controling the world. Odds are that he would kill anyone that would not worship him as a true god. That was how big his God complex was
I had zero sadness for that scumbag Light… im still hurting for L though…
When Light died I was so angry. People can hate him all he they want it doesn't change the fact that Light is one of the greatest anime characters of all time.4
Nope, screw Light 🪛🕯️
Manipulative, narcissistic, psychopathic piece of trash
nah light can rot
L knew from the beginning that Light was Kira he just couldnt prove it
I literally cried so hard when he died. Ngl I was praying that L should be an angel or something so that he cant die 😂. But its a nightmare for me, my hatred for Light got increased by 10x after L's death. L was my fav character and he didn't deserve that.
L was a way smarter then Light, yet he just gave up. Light litterally had two gods and two notes with Misa, definately cheating. Since 25th episode i hate Light the most. Aaaa i miss Ryuzaki sm
@@ol_ogg1606 Ikr. I guess L just gave up because he didn't have any evidence and time was running out, he knew that Light would kill him anyday so he just made sure he collected enough points so that the next person who investigates can start from where he left. And yeah, count me in for the Light Hating gang. That man totally deserved that ending and I am not a bit sad for him.
Ngl I hated Light since the day he killed Naomi (the detective's wife)
L is emotionally weak, he never had a normal teenage life. Light is his first ever buddy.
@@sswolfgaming1410fr bro
That was the turning point
She didn't deserve to die
And this is where the anime basically when to shit is after Ls death
L always knew that Light was Kira, its just eventually he started to think of light as a friend, so it was too painful to accuse him. Also he did'nt have sufficent evidence
He didn't actually see light as a friend he said that to manipulate him the author said L wouldn't actually make friends with anyone since he sees Humans as a cunning species
I cried for DAYS after L died... One of my fav anime characters ever ngl 😔
Top 10 anime deaths fr
At least L outsmarted light in the 2006 live action
Xd
That movie was AWFUL!
Let's pretend it doesn't exist
@@Forrest1989you mean the American version, the Japanese live action versions was good.
@@Forrest1989the 2017 film was awful, the 2006 ones were really good
This hit Light extra hard because he probably just calculated the best thing to say in that moment. There were seldom times where Light doesn’t think before speaking to L. The kindest way to say, “I know this is BS so please be honest with me. You’ve won anyway.”
And light being light he didnt care and kept up the facade
that rain part doesnt exist on manga btw
Sad cuz its epic
@@LiillyMiilly The anime made an improvement here
@@Sai4651 yessiirr indeed
yes and there was no scene with a church or talking to watari at that time. in the mange L didnt predict what would come to him but he knew Light would be Kira. Thats why he wanted to find out if the book is real including the 13 days rule.
This anime is a masterpiece.
Light planned it that way tho
That's a Cop out that man got spanked light took was more risk than L did
That's something that occurred to me when I came back to the series recently.
The anime-🌚💀💥💣🥵
The song-❤🫶✨️💖🔥
We all knew L would eventually figure out that Light was Kira because of how skilled he was. Ever since L pulled the trick the day of the broadcast and found out that he was in Japan. He couldn’t figure out how Light was doing it and knew there was a chance that whatever it was he was using had the chance of killing him. He was revealing the advantage, that Light had over him. Therefore, he knew that he may be doomed. It was an “Okay you got me” kind of moment.
I heard those bells one day... somehow I took another street that day and a major accident happened that day....u have no idea how loud those bells were ringing that day
The sad fact that L was going to prove that light is kira but haven’t got time since rem killed him
L figured it out that light is kira and misa is the second kira
But his problem was with that “Fake” rule so he was going to test it and after that he would pretty much prove that light was kira
Also a few minutes after the rain scene when L is washing lights feet L says they will be parting ways soon further showing L knew he was going to die
L couldn't get the evidence and knew he had already been outplayed. He went in to his last gambit already knowing it wouldn't work and he had lost.
He saw it coming, but didn't know how
He was a living legend
He knew him time was coming, and when watching his death scene in 2010 my entire living (filled with at least 15+ people) was silent.
Kinda hard to solve a case if the murderer used magic
When i was watching this series for first time i really thought L will comeback
I literally started screaming when they showed him dropping his spoon 😭 it was so sad, all that man ever wanted to do was eat cake
L's instuition is unbelievable to the point even if Light just breathes he already knows Light is Kira
I cant help but think of the boy love fan comic made of them🫢
Light always seemed sus from side, with the pauses in answering and all that.
L - (legend) playing game without knowing his rules 😢
He knew from the moment they met. He just couldn't prove it.
i could still remember the ultimate shock we felt when L dropped from that chair. We cannot move on
My favourite part of the anime was when L ask light thag question, shit gave me goosebumps
Guys I love L sm and then he died ❤😭
It's his emotions clouded his decisions, the one who killed him is the first person who he considered as his very first friend.
L never considered Light to be his friend he said that to manipulate Light. The author said that L never saw Light as a friend and L would never be friends with someone due to him seeing humans as a cunning species.
He also never got his emotions get the best of him.
I won’t spoil it and recommend those who haven’t seen Death Note to watch it…. But I will say when me and my husband saw the ending we cheered and celebrated lmao
Me too 😂
He knew Light was Kira LONG before this, he just never was able to prove it
I’m still crying I haven’t watched death note since
L knew from the start he was Kira. The author said in chapter 13 that any time L gave a % on Light being Kira he was lying its always been 100%
Fun fact, that is 100% anime original and in the manga he just dies mid though.
He said there are no penalties like thst but, then:
"don't think that any human who's used the death note can go to Heaven or Hell. You'll find out about that after you die"
"can't go to Heaven or Hell. That's told me everything, Ryuk"
"huh? What?"
"It just means that there is no Heaven or Hell, right?"
"!... You really are something. I though all humans seriously believed in Heaven and Hell, but... Yeah, you're absolutely right. There is no Heaven or Hell. No matter what you do while you're alive, everybody goes to the same place once you die. Death is equal "
I love both the anime and manga, but I must say, the anime makes Light more human while the manga makes him more of a cold blooded serial killer.
L was my favourite character in death note
L outsmarted Light in episode 2.
I never watched death note again after L death
Lmao, L already knew about Light a long time ago. If there was anything L wanted to say, it would be "You ain't shit without that magic book."
L is someone who looks at the minute delay before killing according to the usual schedule as evidence against Light after contacting him so from this you can know why .
Katta rahmat video jusa foydali bopti ChatGPT dan so'rash yaxshi idea ekan perfect 👍
It wasn't the silence that confirmed L's suspicions, it was Light's answer to the question. He asked a question that he knew how Kira would answer.
L knew he is kira since the begging just didn.t have proof for it ...😂❤
The death of L gave me chills. How that mf Light was holding him while giving him the evil smile and saying through his eyes "Yeah mf that Kira was me the whole time"
L knew Light was Kira from almost the start. The issue was he was never able to generate proof.
I guess the silence is probably the only truth that light tells
In the Japanese live-action series when L figures out he is dying he writes his own name in the death note and actually beats Light.
live action is dumb
@noahpancakes6507 it's not the live action you are thinking off
Wait which one I’ve only seen the 2017 live version
@@Jarvisdvgnj I saw other comments mentioning a Japanese live action version from 2006, but haven't seen it myself. Just passing on smtg to help you find it
L in thus scene is emotional in their wording. Light on the other hand even though talking in the rain still answers methodically which would profile how kira has a god complex. Of course L cannot based on these emotion of words in a court without evidence.
This was the saddest death in Death Note, for killing L, Kira deserves to go to hell.
I still get mindboggled by the fact that the greatest detective in the world was defeated by a mere high schooler not putting down L but Light was on another level .
Yeah he was.... with the help of supernatural being 😂
imagine don't know death note live action 2006
Less of a prediction more of an intuitive guess
L has the personality type which would doubt almost everything, it's only expected.
I sobbed when L died tbh
Dude knew waaayy before that he just kept tip toeing around it which low key made me mad.😤🤣
LAWLIET WON. IT'S HIS VICTORY AND HE WON MY HEART TOO❤
L knew bro....he couldn't prove it....L is the best character 🤧
It’s not fair man this dude has a super power note book. L did his best
Personally I haven’t fully watched it yet but I feel like L knew the only way to get the evidence he needed would involve his own death. Just a hunch but I think he knew he did 90% of the work but the only way to finish it required a different perspective. You can’t change your perspective.
Why does this pop up, now? I'm about to cry, again. ☹️💔
L knew light was kira just couldn't prove it he needed light to say it himself basically
Whenever i need a good laugh i throw this on 😂😂 he too real
Nah, L siempre supo que light era Kira
L didn't confirm to himself Light was Kira in that moment. He always new lol that's the entire point of their relationship
the real sadniss is. That L already knew he is kira, he knew a way to prove that Light is Kira. But he would have needed to kill someone. And L sacrafices himself.
Idk what it is about death note but it makes people feel so smart about pointing out the things that are in plain sight
L already knew it from the beginning. All he had to do was to find a concrete/solid evidence that proves that Light is Kira 100% to everyone.
After listening to this, i suddenly want to draw.
L Knew man that light is Kira
HE JUST CONFUSED FOR SOME CLUES MAKE HIM CONFUSED
If L was kira. Can light ever prove L was kira.
L's instinct is superb, If only L would do a bit of a batman this case is solve by killing LIGHT or kidnapping him immediately as soon as he deducted that it's one of the son of 2 officer.
also , later in this ep L wipes his feet , heavily symbolic of jesus cleaning the feet of a traitor before he betrayed
