Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.

Did I hear that right? That they learn 40 routines each summer? I couldn't achieve that memory level if my very life depended on it. It's impressive.
Allegedly they learn 40 routines. I’ve always noticed that they always do the same 5 routines
If your brand new/a rookie its 40 routines but if your a veteran only a few will be new or most are similar to past routinea

It amazes me how quick the cheerleaders know what dance they're doing.

Wish these girls were paid more for all they have to do, the training and how they have to look. You would think they would be paid better from a brand worth $5.7 billion dollars
Maybe so if they risked life & limb everyday, say like, military personnel, it'd be worth it! They know what they're getting into!

I was just thinking that. Why is it that the football players make multimillions of dollars each season and the cheerleaders have to hold down a full-time job and get paid jack squat to work their asses up cheering for men running around after a ball? I also want to see if Judy and Kelli could keep up with all the dances and do all the routines and kick-line.
There is no reason to raise their pay significantly with so much supply! They need to unionize !
i can't even fathom how many routines they have to remember AND be able to perform to different songs every time! when i was a competitive dancer, the most routines i had to know at once was six, and those were of course all performed to the same songs each time. it amazes me every time i think about it!
its tricky but its more like you learn the choreo to the beat/counting and then you just have to watch the leader for the cue, most of the dances had a separate starting pose or move so you knew what would happen next. at least that's the way my team did it

It's gotta be hard to be smiling and happy all the time with these rigorous routines and stress. No wonder why they cry so much afterwards.

the only footage they really have of this is kashara, amy, maddie, and rachel so it would be really hard for them to make an entire video on it. they get this requested all the time so i have a feeling it’s bc of lack of footage

@@Dcc333 It might have been Jinelle you are referring to. Jinelle was tall & thin but with a DD cup size, and Kelly described her as "gangly" but once she witnessed more of Jinelle's dancing, she admitted Jinelle was fun to watch & then Jinelle made the team.

I totally agree, but the dallas cowboy cheerleaders aren’t really cheerleaders. They are technically a drill/ dance team

Been to a few Cowboy games and watching DCC on CMT it was interesting watching the Cheerleaders live knowing what they go through to make the team.

I love Meredith. She’s so sweet and very pretty and has talent, but she seemed to struggle a lot through training camp. I don’t get why they were pushing for her to be on the team so hard.

@@ruthosaro I get that, but that’s not a good enough reason for me 😂 that’s why I said I don’t understand their pressure for her to be on the team. I just hate how they act so high and mighty about the integrity of the audition process and then pick someone who can’t dance based on their looks.
@@kameryn2918 It’s the only reason really. I forget exactly which video it was but i think they say something along the lines of “We wish she would really get our type of style of dance because she definitely has the DCC look.” These people are all about how good you are and how great you look.
@@kameryn2918 Meredith can dance extremely well lyrically but she struggles when it comes to the DCC style of dance.
@@ruthosaro I understand they had the struggle, but my issue was with the way they eliminated talented people who danced better than Meredith while still preaching about how fair or honorable the process is.
Kyndall would have been such a good addition to the team. A pity she just couldn't keep up 😔

Follow your dreams! I know you can make it! Just always make sure to have a backup plan because cheerleaders are done dirty when it comes to income, they don’t make nearly enough money for the amount of hard work they put in.
@@nightshadewinter6915 The ladies aren't allowed to interact with the players - it's to avoid rumors starting. I think there's a handful of events where Cowboys players and cheerleaders have some limited interactions.

The leaders need to make a choice quickly but how in earth do the others pick up on that decision?
Different moves / signals for each dance. They learn 40 odd dance routines so they should know which one the leader has chosen.
That is why DCC is awesome and number 1 the y are the best for a good reason 😊

So awesome. I so admire and respect the training and leadership by these two former DCCs! But I do have 1 wish - that these 2 awesome ladies would be a bit more active and show that they "still got it" too! I love watching all parties but I always think it kind of sets limitations for older women. Young babes rock ! Ya'll got the stage! But older women can be extremely active and flexible and id love to see more representation of that. There are alot of women even in their 50s who have remained so young. These gorgeous young ladies would appreciate it too because they will be there one day too and it gives them hope that they can still be young, fit, beautiful and flexible even past middle age ! The Godfather of Fitness Jack LaLanne would concur 110% - after they retire and age they can still be marvelous for decades onward if they take care and remain active ! I'd love to see that❤️ Pride and Discipline - until the end ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m curious as to what the music dancers dance to in a stadium is like. Do they have to start dancing prematurely to the music to keep in sync?
it's all about muscle memory and whether or not you have a good ear.

Is it a copyright issue from the show or RUclips that they have to change the music in these clips…. Like I’m pretty sure I remember the dance with Kendall and Jacie, having different music, and the song Tess had never heard was 2 princes, I’m almost positive….. can anyone tell me, why the can’t repost the clips from the actual show unaltered?
I think they got rights to the songs on the show individually but not on other forms of streaming like this

for the follow the leader exercise, does anyone know if they learn a routine beforehand or if the leader does improv and they just have to start following?
They have a bunch of routines memorized and the vet that's leading picks one that the newbies have to know and keep up with.

honestly when u have such a love and passion for something, you’re willing to deal with anything to continue doing it. Most people who employ themselves in the Arts accept the fact they get paid very low for it. Considering how much society values entertainment it’s kinda contradicting to pay the people who provide the entertainment so low. Wish these girls got paid just as much as those football players do.
@@river9866 the exposure..the calendars, the USO trips, the private parties, Game Days and Halftime plus Tv. These girls don't go into for the money, most already have jobs/Careers.
I think the love to dance plus the experience of being a DCC. You get to be part of an iconic dance/cheer team. Plus most of these girls come from well off families who will help them out financially. The girls who support themselves with full time jobs during training camp are few and far between. So for them it’s not about the money.

This organization treats them like slaves and their pay is ridiculously low! They don't get paid for all of their practices...investigation and resolution is needed!!
No one is forcing these girls to be there. They want the prestige that comes with being a DCC.

If you had to actually go to work every day during the pandemic, instead of sitting at home collecting a check, then you deserve a "liveable wage". Nothing has ever been shut down because sideline entertainment didn't show up. Believe me, I adore the DCC, but if they didn't perform, people would still be watching the football game.

@@prg4647 if it doesn't benefit me? No, more like it doesn't benefit anyone. There are jobs in this world, that if they don't get done, will negatively effect society. I wouldn't want to live in a world without doctors, nurses, cops, firefighters, garbage collectors, electricians, plumbers, and other jobs that make the world we live in.....livable. Do you know what we don't "need"? Athletes, entertainers, actors, musicians, dancers, and the like, that while nice to have, the world wouldn't stop if they all went away. Dancing and shaking pompoms on the sidelines of a football game is a nice side job, but it's not "essential", the game isn't going to stop if the cheerleaders don't perform, and honestly, when the games were mostly shut down during Covid, the majority of us did just fine.

I really wonder how all the women know what dance the leader is doing, especially those at the end, far from the leader. They have like a second to look at the girl beside them or in front of them, which is really impressive
I don't know how these girls stand the criticisms from Kelli and Kelly Anne Conway. It would drive me nuts not to back talk lol.
As dancers/cheerleaders you learn to take criticism from your coaches. You learn they are the ones who know what the team needs you learn they have been doing this for years and way longer than me so no point in arguing they know what is needed and they know where to give criticism.
Criticism isn’t bad. It’s to help you improve and better the team. This isn’t a personal attack on them
