Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.

I appreciate that this casting show doesn't rely on the interpersonal drama and sob stories for entertainment (yes, some of the women have sad or difficult backgrounds, but they are not the main focus). The question whether your favorites are going to make it or not is enough tension and watching highly skilled dancers is thrilling. This is what I like, a show focused on the craft.
Is this the only exposure u have to DCC? It is not SOLELY focused on the craft. A TON of other factors r considered. It is VERY subjective.
@@beverlycharles6534 Oh you are absolutely right. I'm sure that there is a lot going on in the background. I didn't express myself clearly enough. I still enjoy that they didn't indulge in the trashy reality style.
@@beverlycharles6534 I think what OP means is that they are glad the show Making the Team focuses solely on the audition process and doesn't try to fabricate drama for the sake of higher ratings. I agree actually.

Its def nice not to see girls being catty and backstabbing etc. These ladies are very supportive of each other, its really nice to see.
I do wonder though if its the girls being awesome or the culture of the group 🤔
Marissa and Armani are the best two Rookies. I am glad Marissa made the show group, wish Armani would have (if she comes back next year she probably will make it.)

@@EmVee. Claire really was the best one in this rookie class. I have watched every season of this show and in my opinion she is hands down the best rookie they have ever had. Lots of talented and beautifully trained ladies have been on the show too of course but the second I saw Claire’s original audition solo I knew she was gonna be on to watch! She’s a future point one day for sure!
I feel like Marissa will definitely become a group leader or even point in her career as a Dallas cowboys cheerleader
Also its so sad that they cant do the jump spilt and leg lift anymore

@@tarawalsh-arpaia3928 I could be wrong but I don't think they performed on the field during the season because of covid. They performed on the little decks around the stadium for social distancing. This season (2021) they were back on the field
I think she'll be point one day too if not in the next season or two

I was so proud of Kat, no matter how she being called out she always had a smile on her face!
Judy has such a great heart. She was truly sad that their families couldn't come to their first performances. These girls were outstanding!!
These girls work so hard. They all should be so proud of themselves.
I know it's stressful, and what was with Meredith walking past the girls like that? She didn't even SLIGHTLY look back when she said thank you.

This is the most amount of black girls they have ever had on the squad. Nicole Hamilton would be so proud.

This rookie class was by far my favorite they came in focused and hungry. I knew from Day 1 some vets weren't going to make it. But from what I know they have gone on to make good teams
It just shows what can be accomplished by pushing on, but doing it carefully! I literally broke into tears when Judy mentioned about how usually the parents and family see the 'signature dance', and that she felt like she and Kelly were representing all of those girls families and friends! Just such a tender moment!
Can’t wait to see Gina rock that shared point position! I’ve been waiting for her to be point!

3:23 this season of TCC Rookies are incredible - as well as knowing all the routines they danced without the aid of the mirror in front of them. Truly remarkable dancers!
I can see Marissa being point in a couple years.
She has lots of competition with Claire, Darian, Elli and Dani who is already on the cover of a calendar tbh

@@Dcc333 Point girl isn't always the best dancer. Multiple factors play a role in it. Dancing, looks, leadership and how photogenic you are.

You know when Kelli & Judy says the competition is really strong every year, I don’t resonate with the sentence all the time. But WOW this season, the rookies are really giving the veterans some huge pressure to deal with. I’m not a dancer, but so many of the rookies stood out and they seem as comfortable as some of the veterans on the field. Not to mention that they self-learned the choreography. Claire W is really my favorite so far, hope she gets point in future years! Darian, Elli, Marissa, Armani are amazing dancers as well!
I just love that Judy gets emotional - I think she's very sweet!
This season was kind of slow but the rookie class was very strong! I also wish Armani made show group she is SO good 😍

The season was rushed because a lot of things couldn’t happen bc of the scamdemic. No auditions at Jerry World. No makeover stories. No media training. No talking head interviews .
Maddie is the best...gonna miss her this next season

I can’t lie. Season 15 was kind of boring, but I still love this show!!!
I think that’s why some people are saying that they have no connection with the rookies from this season.

I've certainly seen better seasons but credit to them for doing what they could under the really difficult circumstances that everyone is still dealing with.

I use to watch this amazing show back in the day ! So happy making the team is still being televised. We had some good shows like this years ago watching the entire process makes you appreciate this unique craft. I shed tears of joy for them every time 💙🤍

I think these girls are the best team they ever had.
I don’t want to be negative but I really don’t like Charlotte announcing the new team. I prefer it when Kelly does it because she has more of an emotional attachment to the girls.
Phil needs to announce it also.
I love Marissa so much, she has great energy and she is gorgeous. I know for a fact that she's going to be a group leader and maybe even point, who knows. I also love Ellie and I also think that she's gonna be a group leader. I don't think she would be point though, maybe next to point but not point. oh and Armani as well. and Claire. Oh damn they're all so good!

To take some of the fear away, maybe each rookie should visit the office at least once or twice, for good or bad news.

There is 4 years of content of Maddie solo's and seeing her outfit you can just replay her 2018/2019 solo and you'll have the 2020 one. Claire's solo defo should have been in here tho honestly

Me as well, it seem less stressful to know the routines before getting there. It saved valuable time, and having a couple of days with rookies only should stay as well. Actually doing most to everything would be less stressful on everyone!
This show and organization are America at its best

There is not a single woman I would be able to send home. They are all perfect in my eyes. Yes, some are better than others, but I see the potential in all of them.

Thank you DCC for pushing through all the nonsense and largely keeping up the masks and distance to be an example and to keep your dances and staff safe
I think they look silly and the inconsistency just makes it all the more pointless.
What’s the point? No one cared about masks or transmission rates or infecting others until now.

Its in line with the DCC look. Until DCC embraces all textures of hair its what they have to accept to get the job. I'm a black woman by the way. Glad Armani made the team.
@@nicolebelanger5063Dcc has always had girls with textured hair but they are mostly known to have big glamorous wavy barbie curls. Textured hair doesn't always dance well which is why dancers like Nicole Hamilton and Jackie BOB wore wigs. The fact that they gave the black girls no option for wigs is dumb and political. it's so obvious and I hate it.
They need to do the ' Best of the choreographers '
I wish the pandemic didn’t happen because I really loved this rookies and I didn’t feel anxious watching them which is so refreshing
Meredith is undeniably beautiful and a trained ballerina but her style doesn't suit DCC
And that's what was the problem right there. Meredith had never ever been trained in cheer or pom. Majority of the girls on this team have done cheer before. They have done college cheer or gone to other NFL cheerleading teams. Meredith has not and that's what was the problem. Meredith had never done cheer or pom before and that'swhy she struggled. It was so foreign to her. It was almost like she was learning a new language and at DCC training camp they don't have the time to teach Meredith from scratch. Meredith should not have made the team. They should've cut her and demanded that she take more classes. Go and take jazz, lyrical, hip hop. Take power based classes. Kelli and Judy should've allowed her to work with Jennifer Colvin. Jennifer Colvin teaches power classes. Jennifer Colvin would've whipped into shape but no they didn't do that. Meredith was coddled way too much.

I felt like they were sleeping on Dani. Dani was up there with Armani and Claire in my opinion based on what I saw. Alorha should have been cut instead of a veteran.
Dani is on the cover of one of the calendars this year so hopefully that is a good sign for the future!

Tbh I'm glad Meredith got cut. It took her till the end of training camp last year to FINALLY catch on and I think she took the place of better girls who were farther along than she was simply for the fact that Kelly liked her. They didn't pick her because it was what was best for the team they picked her because she was Kelly's girl crush. She should have never made it in the first place last year and her spot should've gone to a better dancer that was cut.

So, if they make showgroup they're automatically in the team, right? Otherwise it makes no sense to do showgroup auditions before choosing the squad, right???

No you're not automatically on the team. You can be a good dancer but not have what they're looking for on the team. Or at least thats the way it used to be.
Does making the show group for first time tryout rookies automatically qualify them for the team??
No it does not
