Because Hannah was not cut for her talent, they just made it up that way, she was cut because she spoke up about the safety of the bubble of covid 19. I have a feeling Brennan and Lily has a similar situation because its such a weird cut
There was a definite feeling that these girls felt targeted. I don't believe they were cut simply because they were "out danced." I totally think there were other issues that we don't know about.
@@wombatnumbat989 Yup, and the thing is, when they zoom into the stickers from guest choreographers that people have on their pictures, Hannah had a bunch. So the excuse that she isn't being noticed sounds like BS
Couldn’t agree more with everyone in this feed. If you look back at some of the shots, other veterans are making mistakes during the pom routines and I noticed they don’t emphasize those parts or they just so happen to change to a different camera angle... however, they just keep highlighting the same 1 time Hannah messed up over and over. It’s so calculated.
@@sandranorman5469 She doesn't like how the team is being managed aka she thinks kelly and judy are making the wrong decision by cutting her and her friends
Really! it was sort of shady of her cause they were all specifically asked to go to their rooms and that’s why they were even having cuts over zoom. That’s like disrespecting their rules, she should’ve just left it in the hallway.
You can see the cheerleaders just do NOT agree with them and their critiques. They sorely want to stay but their frustration and anger is coming out, which is fair. No one can stay positive while being fired. Poor girls
Yeah, but if you watch the tapes they were out danced. They are right, that the team represents well rounded women that have more than dance to offer, but some of them were lucky to ever have made the team. Some were given their spot ONLY bc of hard work and persistence, which are important traits and they did, in fact, pay off. However, some of their talent or style just has never been the same as many other dancers. It's a coveted position bc if the excellence it demands. As Judy said, she wishes sometimes it was about character and the girls failed themselves in that character during their release.
@@tdmccoy1211 honestly it’s a TV show. They have hours of clips of these girls dancing and only so much screen time. They can manipulate a storyline very easily by only showing clips of when someone messes up. Like Hannah would have made the team if she had not spoken up against the safety of the bubble during COVID-19. Because of that they edited the show to make it look like her cut was justified. They even kept playing the same clip of her messing up which tells me that was the only clip they could find of her messing up.
This is apart of the job and this job particularly not to mention sports in general. There is always going to be younger better stronger athletes that come up along the way that can take your spot and that’s what happened. Really never should’ve been on the team thing with Meredith that’s on the coaches they lead with their heart instead of their brain.
There's clearly been things going on behind the scenes this year, I don't think the veterans would've been so frustrated if they felt everything had been totally fair. Like the whole time they've been talking about how Lilly wasn't performing well, but as she said they didn't really communicate that to her, how was she supposed to improve on things if she didn't know she wasnt performing well enough?
A lot of it is politics too... if they just don’t want a cheerleader anymore then her time is up. It could be her personality and sometimes they may want someone who is new and fresh. Not only do these girls must perform perfectly they must have right personality to fit in.
@@catherineward762 i dont think they were referring to literally politics but figurative politics. However i dont know cause im not them but that how it read to me.
@Marjan B They may have done and it got edited out. The whole show is told from Kelli and Judy's POV, after all, so theirs is the only side of any story that we reliably get told. And they have their good points, but they aren't reliable narrators.
Honesty is THEY JUST DON'T LIKE HER!! IF THERE WAS ANY RESPECT... THEY CAN DANCE TOGETHER WITH NO MASKS, BUT THEY CAN'T BRING VETERANS WHO'VE ALREADY PUT THEMSELVES INTO A DANGEROUS POSITION BY DANCING BUT NO ACROSS THE TABLE IN PERSON YOUR FIRED?!! THEY HAVE ZERO RESPECT OR ACTUAL CARING FOR THE LADIES!! THEY USE THEM FROM A IDOL, SEXUAL, MALE MONEY OFF OF THEM, THE LADIES SLAVE AWAY AND MAKE 8$ AN HOUR!! FROM A MULTI BILLION DOLLAR TEAM!! ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!
Surely Lily suspected this was coming. She was included in that dance off with the weakest dancers so they all knew the cuts were coming from that group.
Y’all have to respect there audition process. Ik your upset that Lilly doesn’t have any office meetings but by her comments I think she knew that she had to improve fast
They really didn't have a justified reason to cut Tori other than not having enough spots. They had a team of 37 last year with Meredith and Lily as alternates, so I think that Tori should have at least been kept around!
I think maybe they didn’t want to have that become a “thing”. Plus it might not have goon over well last season. Personally if I was an alternate I would feel like I was less apart of the team because I’m not even full-time. That’s just my thought though.
Lily being cut was the most difficult to watch. This is the 2nd time lily got cut night before team announcement. Lily is a hard worker and deserves to be there. When she was told she made the team last year, I cried tears of joy along with her. She works hard and I appreciate what she brought to the team. She really wants to be there. This was sad and I think they made a mistake cutting lily. They cud have kept her and cut another rookie
I like Lily but her facials and movements are not natural. I thought living with Alana would have improved her dance and also making the squad loosen her up but she still has the same fish face expressions and tense look
I was never a big Lily fan, she comes across to me as awkward and not a smooth personality for leadership to manage, just based off their expressions and how they speak to her. BUT she did work super hard to finally make that team and did great! it’s the coaches responsibility to keep their people in a positive space and engaged 365 days a year. there is too much turnover and the coaches should consider investing in their tenured loyal veterans future success. She deserved to be there. On the flip side, that disrespectful wench who was comforting her friends in the hallway, she is rude, immature, and deserved to go. These are my opinions based off only what I’m watching on tv, so no need to dive deeper if you disagree.
The rookies know that if they want to come back, they'll have to be gracious about it so I think that would have been a factor as to why the reactions were so different. Really sad they had to do it this way 😓
To me, Brennen implied the new girls taken on the team this year were a downgrade or somehow were of lower calibre than herself. Bringing the team down. Which is ridiculous. Those new girls danced circles around her, lily and Hannah and to me the team got much stronger, not weaker. She has no one to blame but herself for being cut. So rude.
They know as veterans once cut it’s over (for good). You’re done, even if you try out again they won’t take you back so you may as well state your mind.
This is my only thing when it comes to the Vet cuts. Yes it’s immensely disappointing, but when Brennan said the organization was going on a different direction, this seemed like both coaches were hearing this for the first time. If that’s the truth, ma’am you should have said something before you were in this position. Because it seems like whatever it was wasn’t an issue before you were getting cut, as you wanted to be a part of it so badly. I feel for the girls I really do and think they all have a lot of talent. This year though there’s no denying the rookie class was light years stronger than the last few years, maybe even more. Was difficult to watch for sure.
Love how Hannah didn’t cry. They literally posted the same two clips of her messing up that’s how you know it was staged. We love a queen that doesn’t break.
@@simplystreeptacular you mean like kelli and judy sat close together without a mask in that room during the zoom calls (without any reason)? Can't blame her (H.) while not adressing that. If everyone has to isolate then why can they sit together (also probably with a whole film crew)?
Because with rookies like they had, she couldn't possibly of been cut, because Kelli and Tammy need to spend they're time drumming up a conspiracy to cut someone. Right 👍
She was a third year vet and wasn't performing at her best. Still making mistakes. she's not a rookie anymore. she got outperformed. If she wanted it that bad she should have fought for it
the fact that brennan & hannah were cut for voicing their concerns on covid and the show made it out to seem like they weren’t dancing well enough is absolutely disgusting. im glad their not part of this “organization”. thank you girls for ur bravery!
Brennan never voiced concerns but ok. She told she had covid before TC. She couldnt keep up and was cut. She acted entitled as if she was some amazing DCC but okay
@@EmVee. others on the team said Brennan had voiced concerns too. That is why so many people are adding her into this. Pretending that you’ve seen the reality of the situation and using it as an excuse to judge the girls (especially the vets) is not ok. An opinion does not have to be hurtful and rude.

Idk, I got bad vibes. Something is telling me that it has to do with the sweeping “blonde white girl” cuts in favour of more black women with natural hair. The “america’s sweethearts” comment felt off
@@sandranorman5469 She probably did. They just didn't show it. I would've liked her to explain herself. What direction is that you are referring too. Cause I don't know what she's talking about.
This was the worst season I have seen. Anticlimactic. Frustrating for the veterans. And I feel like there was a lot that wasn’t shown about the “truth”.
There's been a lot of rumors about covid protocols, etc. But, rumors are just that. Wish we could've been a fly on the wall... Wonder what 2021 will bring 😏
In regards to the vets cuts: Since the show, the girls have come out (and some family members) about exactly why, and it had nothing to do with their dancing & was most likely why they were so angry and aggressive in the cuts. Those 3 were the girls that had serious problems/worries with how the training camp was being conducted and how certain COVID rules weren't being followed. They all voiced their opinions and the DCC and the higher ups really did not like that. I am actually sure that this decision was out of Jodi and Kelly's hands.
and Brennan saying "I'm really disappointed in where this team is heading and listing how DCC should be role models" is directly about how some of the cheerleaders were partying and sleeping with players and bringing that into the "bubble" that was supposed to be quarantined. Those cheerleaders didn't get cut/reprimanded yet they did.
- Lily comfirmed her cut has 0 to do with covid - Brennan acted like she was some amazing DCC while it cost her 3 years to make the team. Her comment was disrespectful towards her former teammates and especially the rookies. She acted entitled. I still have yet to see proof she got cut over covid but ok - Hannah has no leg to stand om claiming she got cut over voices concerns over the bubble when she literally ignored protocol herself
@@EmVee. I rarely ever agree with you but this is one time I have to. Brennan is bitter. She needs to stop being so bitter. Woman up and accept the situation for what it is. Brennan needs to accept that she got outdanced. You got outdanced and outperformed. Its as simple as that. I also did not like the comment she made directed at the rookies. She made it sound like the rookies were not worthy of the team and were not worthy of the uniform which is not true. Brennan and Hannah got way too comfortable. They felt that they should've made the team purely because they are veterans. These rookies came in guns blazing on Day 1. They didn't come to play any games. Brennan needs to stop playing the victim.
@@EmVee.I just have to say a HUGE thank you for pointing out that regardless of what she (Hannah) may or may not have voiced about COVID that we didn’t see on the show there she is the NIGHT of a positive test admitting that she herself broke the safety rules. There were millions of people comforting loved ones- particularly people in nursing homes and hospitals who managed to follow some kind of safety. I can’t speak to anything outside of this clip but any idea that her cut was based on COVID concerns alone is completely canceled to me by her behavior that night. So just thank you for saying that. I’ve been scrolling through comments looking for someone to point out her behavior in that instance with regard to COVID.
I think they both have a heart but what I would say if you look at the beginning seasons that aired both of them showed more emotion. I think as the years have gone by they have just learned to toughen up while giving the news. I am sure it is hard to watch girls they have gotten know break down in tears and know that you are the ones causing those tears.
Brennan should've taken them up on their offer to take a year off and heal, then come back, still as a vet...i know these girls are all super motivated and competitive, but realizing one's limitations and being safely strategic is part of keeping a spot on the team sometimes...
I was thinking the exact same thing. If I got critiqued and was told it might be better to come back in another year, even if I thought I was doing perfect, I would take that advice and use it to my advantage, because there was obviously something Kelly and Judy were seeing that Brennan wasn’t. If she really was doing well, there wouldn’t have even been an office visit to begin with. She kind of burned that bridge herself :/
This was so uncomfortable to watch - Hannah had been open about struggling with depression during the pandemic and being uncomfortable with the ethics of gathering for training camp, Brennan had been open about having COVID twice and struggling to even walk a mile before training camp, and Lily hadn't had a prior office visit this season. I also can't help but question why they had these conversations virtually - yes, there was a positive COVID test but Kelli, Judy, and the camera/sound people were all able to gather in that room but a few of the dancers who were about to leave the bubble anyway could not? I have loved the show (it brought me so much joy when I discovered it during early-quarantine) and have enormous respect for these athletes but I'm going to have a hard time feeling excited about future seasons.
tbf brennan was given the choice to sit out for the year because of covid recovery but she decided not to and thus be judged like everyone else. she obviously wasn't good enough. maybe becasue of covid maybe not. (btw she was the one who tested positive in the bubble, meaning she didn't follow the rules and went out and contracted it again)
Brennan and Hannah knew before the zoom calls because they were singled out. The negative comments about them were shocking to me. I think there’s so much more that happened that we didn’t get to see.
In previous comments, it is Television, and very meticulously edited. There were probably other things said, but Brennan was respectful and has manners. She is also smart enough to know not to burn bridges
It was really ridiculous because if you watch the editing throughout the season, hannah is very conspicuously kept out of frame during shots that they are showcasing other dancers around her. Have to form the narrative that she performed badly somehow right?
@@jaehaspels9607 And they couldn't keep up. Hannah was struggling with pom choreography. Brennan was struggling with precision and power in her dancing.
Brennan and Hannah were portrayed so snobby, like they didn't care, which i don't believe for a sec. They worked hard and don't reserve to be hated on. I really wonder what happenend behind the scenes and on clips we did not see
Honestly they had pretty shitty attitudes for most of the season. I’m sorry but in the last season you got to see all the cliques and lily, Hannah, Brennan they all had their little group. I don’t believe they should have cut veterans but there is a lot behind the scenes we don’t see. Probably a lot of drama caused by the three of them.
I don’t feel bad for Kelli at all! Julie has a heart, not so with Kelli. She just seems to me to be on a power trip. Perhaps I’m wrong but this is how I see it. No need to be cruel.
I know I'm not Kelli and Judy and I don't judge dance for a living, but im confused as to why they cut Tori and kept Alora Rose. Tori seemed much stronger
My thoughts exactly. I think they liked her look (i.e. bouncy hair that they were gushing about). Granted she did improve during training camp but Tori seem to have more consistently positive feedback.
2:27 Brennan started off so bubbly, sweet, and innocent. She did NOT see that coming. It got real when she read her text messages at 2:44 (had to be from Lily). That shift in energy was LOUD. It gave me "Oh so this is what we're doing? Ok bet" vibes.
I love how that one girl I forgot her name when she asked her why she was in a hallway and she said “just comforting my friends” is the saddest thing in the world :(
Hanna was CUT, she did not quit. She at one time had that option but not in the end. I LOVED her response. Loyalty and compassion to her friends. Pure class!
Some girls can't be in show group because they have a real job or are going to college. She was at the audition but so was everyone else. I don't think she was actually trying out for show group.
the "vets cant make mistakes" thing is ridiculous. this training camp was short this season, its usually not as bad but I hate how they judge them as they are learning the dances. yes i get thats their thing to see who can learn fast its like a pop quiz, but how accurately can you be tested as youre learning it! being a vet doesnt make you into a perfect cheerleader robot. its almost getting too cutthroat, there needs to be a happy medium between having high standards and one mistake and its over for vets. right now it makes no sense, its like you take into account all their attributes to make the team but none of that matters for staying on the team
@@TikiChaparita oh yes they were/are its not really knocking anyone even J & K.they have a job to do and i think judy was nicer than ever this year lol! i just hate when they cut really personable girls for some tiny mistakes and all the neg comments come from the first time they are doin it! hannah brennan and lilly were some of the most well liked girls, its sad :(
I like how they keep showing the same clip of Hannah messing up. If she really was being outperformed, they should’ve shown more clips. Sad to see her go☹️
Yup. Isn't is a little sus? Always the same clip. And the excuse of "she looks pale". And? Oh, and lets not forget them saying she hasn't been noticed by guest choreographers and yet her picture was full of stickers?
No they have not. They made them wear their masks on and off (which makes no sense), they spent a lot of time indoors too close together (with little social distancing), and didn't utilized outdoor areas as much (I'm guessing due to lighting for the show). Even going into the office the only thing separating them was plexiglass. Very reckless even for when this was recorded. At the time the CDC and the WHO encouraged mask wearing when social distancing was not possible, and doing things outside as much as possible.
Don't get why they cut Tori. She had more expression than alot of the veterans when dancing and that's what the audience wants to see. Not sure on which criteria she failed.
@@user-ct4mw5yw4g I am sure you are right. One problem of watching a series like DCC Making the Team is we the viewers don't see every minute of rehearsals etc. so we miss alot that might change our minds about decisions made that we disagree with.
They literally said she has everything to make the team. They aren't missing anything. You're the one doing that. They cut 3 other vets why would they cut 4 and start even more backlash? If you pay attention your point usually makes more sense.
You can tell COVID was not taken as seriously as it should have been. Masks not worn correctly, or taken off too soon. Hardly any social distancing. I am a fan of this show and all the hard working dancers. But this should not have happened this year. Dancing in a tight room with everyone with masks off is dangerous! This is just what we saw on camera, I wonder what was happening when the cameras were not around. Even Phil walking onto the field with his mask off his nose, and Charlotte not wearing one at all?! Disappointing
Sometimes being housed in a 'bubble' can give people a false sense of security. It only takes one person breaking the rules once to let the virus in and cause an outbreak. They should never have been without their masks.
I teach, so I am wearing one with 20 kids in my room, adults coming in and out, for 8 hours a day. I love my job, and my kids wear one all day too, with a recess mask break away from each other. If a 7 year old can understand why one should be worn, I believe all adults would understand it too.
Maybe that's exactly why they were cut. They did not perform well under pressure during the previous year. Kelly and Judy said at least three of those vets were dancing the same as in their rookie year.
Except they didn’t perform under pressure. Training camp is the most pressure they will experience. Lily and Meredith barely made the team! I love Meredith but she even said on camera “I’m still playing catch up, but that is what training camp is for!” No, not when you are a vet. They expect you to come back stronger and dancing better than the rookies.
@@Kassiann1 I loved Meredith too. I loved Lily she tried out for 5 years and was such a good team player. I hated seeing her cut. Some of the vets cut were great at performing.
The thing is these vets are hurt and there is more to this story and that's why the vets are hurt. Also these rookies came in hungry and wanted to make this team. They were able to come in on a leg up from moat rookies with learning the dances already. It's hard to see them sad but it just shows you have to be on top of your game.
totally! but it's prob the way it's edited. Prob wanted to show too much of HOW they're making it work and not enough actual dancing. Wrong focus for the season. The judges seem very afraid of what the girls think of them and I think it stems from them having to do the show during the pandemic. I bet a whole slew of vets didn't even want to return for the year bc of the health risk. THEN got talked into doing the show and then got cut! "sad to see the direction the team is headed in" doesn't sound like an observation, sounds like resentment
9:35 Kelli's teammate and friend Tina is Victoria's mom. The good news is after getting cut going into year 2, Tina came back and made the team for the next 4 years.
That’s an awesome thing to learn, thanks for sharing! Shows that, particularly with girls like Meredith (I know people have HUGE mixed feelings on her), that there is still LEGIT hope for the girls to come back and relive their dream again! I LOVE when they showcase people like Maddie who didn’t make it right away or Kashara (sorry if I misspelled her name 😅) who had a ROUGH training camp that there is still no end to what hard work can get you if you don’t give up. 🐶 As much as I love the girls who went in and NAILED IT right off the bat, I am a sucker for a good “underdog comes out on top in the long” run story.
As a good veteran , she should have bowed out gracefully and came back the next year stronger. Her attitude was NOT an example of America’s sweethearts. Also you can tell she was encouraging the attitude from Lily and Hannah. I can say that Hannah caught herself, and turned her attitude back to positive at the end of her speech.
"Some of the rookies have had some issues trying to piece this together" - good thing you cut veterans.. This was a weird year. I don't know why Brennan said what she did but I feel like there is more to the story.
They jerked Brennan around and she was tired of it. I believe she tried out 3 times prior to making the team and was cut last day, now again. Everyone has a breaking point.
I think her long hair makes her eyes look smaller (in a good way) so I think she looked good with the short hair but amazing with the long hair although I don’t know what this is but I don’t know there’s something grey about her look... I don’t know! Do you see it to, L?
They cut down Lily’s cut from the actual episode, and boy was it uncomfortable to watch. They all were. I wish they would of shown the true story of what happens with Hannah though and why she chose to leave. One the other hand though I am so happy to see that Claire and Armani made the team though. I think they have been 2 of the strongest rookies and my favorites, Claire especially is an absolute rockstar...she’s a future point for sure.
Hannah did not chose to leave. Gina and Tess went to Victoria to rat on Hannah because Hannah was questioning the bubble safety guidelines. Victoria of course went to Auntie Kelli leading to part of the reason or most of the reason why Hannah was cut. Brennan had a few discussions with Victoria because Victoria was being rude during the bubble. I would not be surprised if Victoria went to Auntie Kelli to complain about Brennan. Judy told Lily she did not like Lily's looks and said she was going to throw out Lily's pictures. Tess was getting bad reviews from her Group 4 girls before the quarantine and pandemic hit the fan. She went to her group to ask who was giving her the bad review. She actually called Lily out on it in front of the others and accused her of doing the it. Funny how all four cut veterans came from one group with Tess and Gina as their leaders and had Victoria in the same group. I have a hard time believing Jessica, Sydney, and Alora Rose were better performers than Lily, Brennan and Hannah. I would not be surprised if one or more will be cut at 2021 Finals Auditions or in 2021 TC. They also like to edit scenes to make girls who will be cut look bad enough in order to prove Judy and especially Kelli and Charlotte have a reason to cut someone. I also would not be surprised if Kelli and Charlotte wanted to get rid of Brennan, and her being sick along with Victoria not liking Brennan talking with her about her nasty attitude during the bubble gave Kelli and Charlotte the perfect reasons to get rid of her.
@@nancyleddige6997 damn! How do you know all this lol? I really thought Hannah chose to leave! Although it's heartbreaking about the vets who got cut, but i'm so happy for the girls who made it...They worked so hard to get here with the pandemic and still doing their best.
I would love to hear the behind conversations between Kelly and Judi over the attitude and rudeness from the first three vets that were cut. I get being cut from such a prestigious team must be heartbreaking especially when you have been there for a couple year and have given everything to it yet you could see why they were cut and it doesn’t excuse the plain rudeness those girls had.
They kept people to give them chances, and who they see “potential” in. They don’t need “potential”, they need it now. They have to be game ready, and it proved in many performances and games that the people they kept were an embarrassment to the DCC. Season 14 and 15 were terrible, especially when they kept Meredith, and now when they cut so many veterans. They cut the vets because they can’t see them, because Kelli and Judy focus on the rookies.
What is the point of them wearing masks at certain points just to take them off later while in the SAME FORMATION, like what is the mask doing if they’re already breathing on and touching each other during other parts of the dance

I don't agree with Brennan's or Hannah's cuts at all. I mean, Brennan had covid! And she explained that to them during a prior office visit. I understand that dance and performance are such a big part of this role, but I do feel like Kelli and Judy should have given them more time.

Alright that was a rough episode. I do have opinions. With Lily, she is a sweetheart but like Meredith she was not ready to be on the team when she made it in her rookie year. She also got a pass of everything. So I am not shocked that they cut her as well since I thought both her and Meredith were the weaker rookies from last season. Brennan was highly unprofessional. She admitted she had Covid and that unfortunately affected her performance, not unexpected since we are learning there are long haulers that remain with the symptoms past the infection. So she was already not 100%. They offer her to recover and come back next year but she didn't want to. I get she wants to be on the team but if you are admitting you are not fit, then they have every reason to cut you since you need to be fit to be in an athletic role. Lastly Hannah, that one did hurt me to see. I get she had covid concerns but that is not gonna change how DCC will perform since that's their job. So I hope she comes back to tryout when things hopefully are better.
I like Hannah. But after all her social media comments there's no coming back for her. She burned that bridge. The majority of negative comments against DCC this season were the result of her posts. She could not possibly hope to come back next year.
@@cocofluff I have not seen her posts so I can't comment on them. I hope they were not as bad as what Brennan expressed on the show and apparently from what I hear her posts.
Kelli and Judy are excellent administrators, they have to make difficult decisions to preserve the integrity of the brand. They have to cut the weakest candidates. In all sports tryouts, “being cut” is an excepted occurrence when trying out for a team. Those vets who were cut were out performed by the rookies. The vets should know that they are at risk of loosing their position each training camp they choose to tryout for. Crying and feeling sorry for oneself has nothing to do with being the best athlete to make the team. Those who were cut should carefully evaluate those who were not cut and decide whether they can achieve that level of skill and qualifications for the future, if not then they should look towards other careers and activities.
Hannah was being out danced this year she lost her gusto .... Brennan was sick twice did not have the stamina ...they offered her a pause and come back next year when she was stronger ... should have taken them up on it.
I do agree about Alora-Rose. I didn’t get a lot from her I’m not sure why she wasn’t a standout to me. I think its because nothing BIG happened with her maybe. Jada similar, actually.
I honestly think Tori or Ashlinn should've gotten Alora-Rose's spot. No hate to her at all I just think that maybe if Alora would try out for next season and had more style into her dance she would be a show stopper next season.
I get that its hard being cut, and you are a vet. But you are owed nothing. Its an audition, every year for a reason. It helps being a vet, but this also keeps the entire team on their toes for being the best. Every year Lily and Meredith and Brenan and Hannah struggled. I feel bad for them and even though I rooted for them, I hope they can comeback and watch the season and see where they come from. If you make too many mistakes, especially as a vet, you risk getting cut. Unfortunately, sometimes your best isn’t good enough. Hannah did not need to be that bitter. Kelly and Judy were respectful to her and she was sassy and had an attitude. I wish them the best.
I just don’t understand the NEED for a team of 36? Add another row to the triangle and call it a day. Wouldn’t have to cut vets or so many awesome rookies.
You should try watching the full episode. They explained why. If you don't want to bother, it's because of covid. They won't be performing live on the turf for the time being and instead will be on platforms, and the platforms can only fit 36 girls.
@@calicofishy can’t they have them switch off the plate forms? They told Lily and Meredith last year they wouldn’t perform in every game because there wasn’t an even number for the triangle. Just seems like this “only 36” notion is more for drama. My heart just breaks for the girls that got cut when they’ve taken 39-40 girls in the past and switched them in and out for games.
@@Tomes23 Because the virus WILL get in. As it did at DCC and other sports bubbles. Someone always breaks the rules. And mask wearing will at least limit how far into your organsation the virus spreads when it does get in.
I feel like the rookies had an unfair advantage since they came a week before the vets. Even though some of those vets weren’t dancing up to par I think if they had that extra week they would have gotten back into the swing of things and some of them might not have been cut.
On the flip side the vets go to training camp knowing exactly what is expected of them, they know the pace they have to learn at where as the rookies don't. It is a super physical job so the vets know what kind of shape they need to be in and also they know the areas they have to focus on from feedback they have received previously. I do think that like anyone in any work place that some vets do become a wee bit complacent. On top of everything there is so much behind the scenes that we don't know.
@@suzanneedmonds1566 very true, I just wonder if the vets would have gotten cut had they also come the same week the rookies came or had it been a normal year. But it is a complicated process and they can edit it in a way so we don’t see everything.
It's always been that veterans need to earn their spots back. This means that if they are being outdanced, they should be cut. It sucks, but it's true.
I honestly think Tori should have gotten a spot over Alora Rose this season. Tori has been an amazing candidate throughout the entire process. She has been standing out, saying no one would have known she was a rookie if she wasn't in pink, and just picking up choreography so fast. Alora Rose has not been getting attention by guest choreographers and has made so many mistakes throughout this process. I don't think Tori should have been cut. And the fact Alora left the team the following season and let Kelly and Judy find out by rumors is what really makes me think Tori should have been on the team this season.
I was thinking literally the exact same thing. Tori was an absolute show stopper from the beginning and completely one of the most gorgeous girls there. She should have made it 100%
Kind of disappointed with how Brennan took her cut ... She said herself that she didn't start training camp at her best (could barely walk a mile two weeks prior to TC). I understand that it is hard for her but she should have accepted their offer of holding her spot until next year. She came across to me quite spiteful and full of herself. They have cut four-five years vets before, no one's spot is secured. I feel like, like Meredith, she felt too comfortable and that they are in TC to audition too.
It’s because there are people that are breaking rules and Kelli and Judy didn’t want to cut them so they cut Brennan, Hannah and Lily to make the show more dramatic.
Saying she had everything a DCC has to be was just laughable honestly. Does she remember that it took her 3 years to make the team and be a blender in both her year where many expected her to get cut in 2019. I found her comment about the direction the team is going also quite disrespectful to the other girls and rookies
@@HeatherLynseyMusic She did because the way she delivered her message was quite aggressive. She could have said that she didn't agree with them but she decided to just go for the jugular and attack saying that she heard about Lilly's cut and that she was everything a DCC should be. Very condescending to say and I don't think that Kelly and Judy would regret cutting her with that attitude ...
I'm sure she was just hurt because she was a vet but she definitely didn't do herself any favors with that attitude. This year's rookie's came in strong.
3:34 Brennan about to spill some SERIOUS scalding hot tea! My first thought is that she is alluding to a couple of DCC who are apparently fraternizing with players A real shame she was cut as she looked so pretty this season. hair = goals.
Last season they took a chance on Meredith and Lilly because they weren’t completely trusting that they would be able to handle the job. This season it was proved right, both didn’t make the squad. All veterans cut this season were lacking will and spark. A lot of rookies out danced them all the time. Kat wasn’t perfect, but she got more confident and better, if she don’t want to be cut next season it is best for her to take dance classes and improve before coming back.
CONGRATULATIONS MS.MADDIE!!!! You have earned your spot on the point and you are an amazing person and entertainer!! Been a huge fan from the moment you arrived and you simply have not disappointed. Thank you so much for sharing all your hard work. #TeamMaddie #SoProud
Before they even spoke, you could see Hannah was not having a bar of anything they had to say. I feel very uncomfortable during these veteran cuts.

You can see the cheerleaders just do NOT agree with them and their critiques. They sorely want to stay but their frustration and anger is coming out, which is fair. No one can stay positive while being fired. Poor girls
I think the fact that they weren’t warned beforehand caused tensions to be even stronger
Non the less getting fired on zoom.... imagine getting fired over zoom.... dang....

She’s a VET! She shouldn’t need one, but I get what you’re saying
Oh I didn't know that, did they take it in turns?
Look how that turned out though. They shouldn't have kept either of those 2 last year and it really showed this year.
Actually Kat and Meredith rotated they were the bottom two but they said Meredith and Lily to be dramatic
@@kei0tic I think you’re right. I wouldn’t want to be an alternate because I’m sensitive 🤣🤣🤣🤣
But she didn't move her neck and still makes weird facial expressions
I like Lily but her facials and movements are not natural. I thought living with Alana would have improved her dance and also making the squad loosen her up but she still has the same fish face expressions and tense look
They cut Lily, but keep Kat because she is looks like " Beyonce" give me a break.
the most talented "deserve" to be there... no one cares how hard you work, that's 10000% irrelevant.
Those first three cuts....the shade. The two rookies were so polite and sweet despite their dreams ending
Yeah I mean they were kinda right though. Plus Hanah wasn't actually cut she left on her own because of safety concerns.
So rude.
@@C_HelloThere If Hanah left on her won why did she have a zoom call where they told her she was cut?
Cutting Tori surprised me the most since she had more expression when dancing than alot of vets. Not sure on which criteria she failed.

Well when you get cut I guess you don't have to place nice anymore. At least she told them to their face and not just on social media.

I remember Brennan because she tried out and got cut more than once.
- Lily comfirmed her cut has 0 to do with covid
- Brennan acted like she was some amazing DCC while it cost her 3 years to make the team. Her comment was disrespectful towards her former teammates and especially the rookies. She acted entitled. I still have yet to see proof she got cut over covid but ok

She made it sound like the rookies were not worthy of the team and were not worthy of the uniform which is not true. Brennan and Hannah got way too comfortable. I also can't help but question why they had these conversations virtually - yes, there was a positive COVID test but Kelli, Judy, and the camera/sound people were all able to gather in that room but a few of the dancers who were about to leave the bubble anyway could not? the "vets cant make mistakes" thing is ridiculous. this training camp was short this season, its usually not as bad but I hate how they judge them as they are learning the dances. yes i get thats their thing to see who can learn fast its like a pop quiz, but how accurately can you be tested as youre learning it! being a vet doesnt make you into a perfect cheerleader robot. its almost getting too cutthroat, there needs to be a happy medium between having high standards and one mistake and its over for vets. right now it makes no sense, its like you take into account all their attributes to make the team but none of that matters for staying on the team
I think the rookies were really good. I wish they kept Hannah but she has a lot on her plate.

@@qqlnna ok... that's great that she is a nurse but she still got covid and was endangering other girls. I respect her for being a nurse thought
Don't get why they cut Tori. She had more expression than alot of the veterans when dancing and that's what the audience wants to see. Not sure on which criteria she failed.
Alora-Rose was criticised more than Tori, I would have swapped those two but maybe they saw something we didn't
@@user-ct4mw5yw4g I am sure you are right. One problem of watching a series like DCC Making the Team is we the viewers don't see every minute of rehearsals etc. so we miss alot that might change our minds about decisions made that we disagree with.
same! i loved Tori!
I think Tori didn't do a good job on her interview and they liked how Jessica and Alora-Rose look. And they loved that she was a Rockette.
They all literally took off their masks after Phil came in 😐
as someone who does cheer and tennis we don’t wear a mask when we play or perform. I also live in Chicago where cases are raising
Sometimes being housed in a 'bubble' can give people a false sense of security. It only takes one person breaking the rules once to let the virus in and cause an outbreak. They should never have been without their masks.
@@chloeeevx Dancing with a mask on must be rough but they do it on game day.
I teach, so I am wearing one with 20 kids in my room, adults coming in and out, for 8 hours a day. I love my job, and my kids wear one all day too, with a recess mask break away from each other. If a 7 year old can understand why one should be worn, I believe all adults would understand it too.
I think the veterans being cut was crazy. Better to keep a veteran that you know how they preform under pressure.
Maybe that's exactly why they were cut. They did not perform well under pressure during the previous year. Kelly and Judy said at least three of those vets were dancing the same as in their rookie year.
@@cocofluff True everyone cut were great team players but not dancing their best.
No, it's better to keep someone who is better than a failing veteran.
The thing is these vets are hurt and there is more to this story and that's why the vets are hurt. Also these rookies came in hungry and wanted to make this team. They were able to come in on a leg up from moat rookies with learning the dances already. It's hard to see them sad but it just shows you have to be on top of your game.
I agree! And the shortened training camp was an advantage to the rookies!!

totally! but it's prob the way it's edited. Prob wanted to show too much of HOW they're making it work and not enough actual dancing. Wrong focus for the season. The judges seem very afraid of what the girls think of them and I think it stems from them having to do the show during the pandemic.
As much as I love the girls who went in and NAILED IT right off the bat, I am a sucker for a good “underdog comes out on top in the long” run story.
The fact that Armani’s dance teacher said that she would never make it in dance kills me.
I preferred Armani's short hair! I think she looked so sweet with it.
I think her long hair makes her eyes look smaller (in a good way) so I think she looked good with the short hair but amazing with the long hair although I don’t know what this is but I don’t know there’s something grey about her look... I don’t know! Do you see it to, L?
I agree Armani’s short hair was cute. But those long curls are gorgeous and make her look more mature.
Natural hair doesn't hold up well to three hours of dancing. Even after practise her curls were drenched. But I prefer her short hair too.
I think she looks so muck like robin. I saw the resemblance with her short hair but now it’s even more noticeable
Meeee toooo! She looked so adorable with her natural hair it really made me sad that they made her change it
They cut down Lily’s cut from the actual episode, and boy was it uncomfortable to watch.

What is the point of them wearing masks at certain points just to take them off later while in the SAME FORMATION, like what is the mask doing if they’re already breathing on and touching each other during other parts of the dance
its sucks for brennan..2020 was awful..i cant imagine getting covid twice..and bren said she was pretty sick and could barely move..i almost feel like they should have understood that..

I don't agree with Brennan's or Hannah's cuts at all. I mean, Brennan had covid! And she explained that to them during a prior office visit. I understand that dance and performance are such a big part of this role, but I do feel like Kelli and Judy should have given them more time.

They didn't have more time so they can't give them more time.
So I hope she comes back to tryout when things hopefully are better.
very well said Nicole, very objective comments. I think your observations were spot on especially re: the long term effects of Covid. 😀
I like Hannah. But after all her social media comments there's no coming back for her. She burned that bridge. The majority of negative comments against DCC this season were the result of her posts. She could not possibly hope to come back next year.

Lol Jinelle retired like 3 years ago 😂
i'm so glad Ashlinn and Tori came back and made the team!!
They are a lot more sassy when they are cut via zoom from the team. It was nice to see the human and real part.
I want to be a DCC, but then i remember all their hard work and effort against their low pay and it passes me!
so much respect for brennan, she really said what needed to be said
Meredith i can understanding That she’s been cut, but Hannah and Brennan? Why?!
Hannah sucked
Because they were speaking out at how reckless the the show and heads of the team were at handling covid safety measures.

I was low key waiting for Alora Rose to get cut, I feel Jada has it but needs to be stronger since she is so tall. 😬
Ashlinn to me was stronger thank Jada
I’m actually quite surprised she made and over Hannah no less!
Jada is a stronger dancer than Alora, she just needs some polishing
It’s been so many times they have added more.
I’ve seen 39.
I think it's a salary issue bc they're paying them more now and they don't want to pay that many people.
You go, Brennan!! They did the vets DIRTY. It makes me want to never watch this show again!
I feel like the rookies had an unfair advantage since they came a week before the vets. Even though some of those vets weren’t dancing up to par I think if they had that extra week they would have gotten back into the swing of things and some of them might not have been cut.
Yes and some of the new dances the vets had to teach themselves the morning they got to training camp.
The rookies got videos of the dances before camp so they didn't have to learn at camp fast like they usually do.
I think 3 year vets should already know their routines...
It's always been that veterans need to earn their spots back. This means that if they are being outdanced, they should be cut. It sucks, but it's true.
Exactly. And they have to improve every year.
I feel like she just erased ANY chance of having a comeback spot. Shew.
I'm sure she was just hurt because she was a vet but she definitely didn't do herself any favors with that attitude. This year's rookie's came in strong.

Wow! Brutal episode
