Infernoble pro here and no. This deck's best end board is the same as a middling opener of the old version, I used to pass on anywhere from 5-6 interruptions when I was handtrapped, and 9-11 when uninterrupted.
So fun little thought experiment. If Joey had modern-day cards, do you think he would run Red Eyes or Flameswordsman? Red eyes were his ace, but Flame was his favorite. Or both, both is (not) good.
Considering anime characters run highlander decks (one copy of each card, unless shown otherwise, like Kaiba having 3 Blue-Eyes and Zane having 3 Cyber Dragon), Joey would be able to fit almost everything new he got into a single deck, I believe. He could then run Fighting Flame with Red-Eyes and some other bullshit he'd play in his one single deck.
I'm surprised you didn't try to put Masaki the Legendary Swordsman and Flame Manipulator into the deck to actually Fusion Summon the Flame Swordsman in the ED correctly.
For the question about asking how to call Snake Eyes Ash, to be less confusing with ash blossom, the first translation we had of his name was "Snake Eyes Excel". So it might be a decent alternative to use.
I think the real saving grace for this deck is that Flame Swordsman is a level 5 monster. Very easily could have been a level 6 or 4 (not that him being level 4 would have been that big of a problem).
