Fun fact: The E-wing's 3rd gun folds with the cockpit so the pilot can enter/leave, it can disconect from the ""back part"" that's conected to the hull, and the ""front part"" is conected to the cockpit It also doesn't make sense to have a 3rd engine in the middle of the ship because that's where the droid and other stuff are
No, the entire thing is connected to the canopy. Behind the Pilot there is an entire extra panel on the back of the canopy that extends behind the Cannon. The whole thing moves with the Canopy. with the cabling being flexible
❤ loving it all about videos of the whole basically lined up as a fleet if u clock , miss a few classes brilliant I'm from Manchester, but now I am allocated Toxtoth, in Liverpool 🫠 but thanx n have definitely liked and subscribed to your channel even though been watching u loads😱
Got to say eck I've been a long time viewer of the channel and I do like the more long-form content, part of why I really enjoy tapcaf, honestly when you did that like hour long Legends history breakdown that was a really great and I think you have a lot of fans that are would appreciate more content of this style
I just wanna say I love these 2 hour mixes. I love the Outer Rim Lore one as well. I do a lot of work on my laptop, both professional and personal, and its so perfect to just set one of these up in the background and cruise. Please keep these coming. Thank you!
Toy Mechanics aren't exactly Canon. After all, I had a Death Star Playset as a Kid that opened up and became a Hanger in the Mighty Max style with miniature toys that were immediately lost.
Thank you very much, I was hoping you would put out another one of these very soon and I'm very pleased to see that you did. I love putting these on my RUclips on my TV and watching them at night as I lay down. Awesomeness and I can't wait to watch this tonight
The ARC 170 probably fell out of favor because it was built for fleet scouting. It's in the name, Aggressive Reconnaissance. It was sent out in squadrons from a fleet to probe areas they expected an enemy fleet to be operating from, and if found would be able to attack targets of opportunity and disrupt its operations while surviving attacks from escort fighters until the rest of the fleet jumped in for a major fleet action. It's visually based on a several different heavy fighters/light bombers from WW2, who had similar recon/strike mission profiles of 'go out and see what's out there, and kill it if you can. If you can't, call it in so we can kill it' . Especially in the Pacific theater with planes like the Black Widow night fighters. Not like the standard recon planes which were usually unarmed, who went out to find the enemy and report back, and not fight.
I also like Mom Calamari Cruisers, especially the Viscount. Eclipse could destroy probably all other Fan Made Battleships, and probably even the Death Star, the SSD, and even the Supremacy!
One thing that would be very cool to see on large Star Wars ships like dreadnoughts is large long barreled turbo laser or ion cannons. Giving off an even more naval battleship aesthetic. The main most powerful cannons on the ship. Kind of like a super laser but like that fan made cannon ship, meant for stations and large ships. They could even fire projectiles.
Wow eck been while since I’ve darkened the door of your channel. Glad I have as I now have a whole new appreciation for the E-Wing and a custom Lego build must be added to my collection! Certainly wouldn’t mind another compilation like this in the future made the house work tolerable 😂
I think this perfectly shows one of the weaknesses of Disney-Wars. There are so many cool star wars ships, but the new ships are just another X-Wing, Tie-Fighter and Star Destroyer.
I love these huge videos. It gives me inspiration to make my own ship for a Star Wars campaign. I'm dubbing it the "star explorer." A star destroyer but shrunk down to the size of light freighter. Made by CEC and also drawing inspiration from the VCX-100.
Love the content! I hope the issue with the copyright troll is fixed now. So sorry for the lots of hassle you have to go through. Keep up the good work!
The New Republic should’ve used the E-Wing Escort Starfighter in the Sequel Trilogy. In the Original Trilogy, if the Empire simply kept and updated the Venator-Class Star Destroyer, how powerful do y’all think that ship would’ve been against the Rebel Alliance?
wel with the venator it would depend on what kind of fighters support it would have in its hanger. if its simply ties then it had no chance but would it be tiedefenders who knows
This is great, i just started X4 with the interworlds mod and im trying to catch up on all the starwars ship lore. I hope you have tried that it is so good.
I like the mediator model by the fan it looks like an arrowhead with jar jar binks face if jar jar binks had a unicorn horn sticking out his face in the back Parton the model.
Someday… would love to walk the hall ways of ships. Take virtual tour of all of the ships. For single pilot or small ships cockpit walk throughs. Someday…
1:39:28 Didn't Uglies also appear in Freemaker adventures? I don't think that series is canon (Most Lego Star Wars stuff isn't) but I think they definitely had some ships like that in the series
Adolf galland got in a huge argument with herman goering about the me109's unviability as a bomber escort, for the same reason that the A wings dod here in star wars. This detail could show really good attention to detail on the part of the writers of that scene.
Masers, btw are described as having kinteitic energy where lasers do not. They aren't laserlight either. "Blaster" bolts are pockets of controlled plasma (I cannot explain lightsabers other than maybe a magnetically defined plasma beam)
The main issue I have with the E-Wing isn't the statistics and data regarding the fighter, but rather the layout of the design. Simply put, it looks like a 'lite' X-Wing. As in, it looks honestly like a downgrade compared to the quadmounted/S-foil design The biggest problem I have is the placement of the engines and cannons. The wing mounted engines are simply too far apart imo and would look better if they were center mounted on the fuselage. As for the cannons, I have several issues. One, wing mounted means you're going to have gun convergence, meaning you forced to engage from a certain distance for maximum efficiency. Anything too far or too close will result in the inability to train all your firepoweron one target, which can be critical. Two, the centermounted cannon located above the cockpit blocks line of sight significantly, meaning you'll have a greater chance of losing the target, which can be the difference of winning a dogfight or exploding into a massive fireball. Imo put the center cannon below the cockpit and that fixes the largest problem with the fighter.
For the Tector I personally like the idea that perhaps the Tector was originally designed as a sort of dedicated escort for the Empire's carriers. It wouldn't need the hangar bay if it was *already* escorting a carrier for anti-capital support after all, and might have been designed a bit cheaper than the imperial class since it wouldn't have to be quite as standalone. Additionally if it was escorting a carrier, enemy fighters would be even less of a threat since you'd tend to deploy a carrier behind the front lines of the battle, at least going by IRL logic. Basically a last-resort in case a capital breaks through. Obviously kinda wasteful but so is building 2 space stations that can one-shot an entire planet.
Always saddened the E-wing didn't get properly canonized in the new films. It looks like an X-Wing and a BSG Viper did the fusion dance and would have been awesome to see on-screen finally.
The one thing about Star Wars that bothers me is the lack of the usage of droids in ship maintenance. If we were building real ships in our universe there would be 10 droids to 1 human for a variety of reasons. It's strange that Star Wars doesn't utilize that approach.
I like the overall design of the E-Wing, but I find some details a bit annoying: 1. Behind the cockpit there should be all kinds of ship internals. computer systems, ressource containers (life support, fuel, etc.), cargo space etc. However there is an engine sticking out the end, at the same time we see what the naked engine looks like on the wings. So judging from that, behind the cockpit there is not much else other than the central engine in a chassis. 2. The wing mounted engines are far below the centre of mass, resulting in a continuous pitch-up movement. So you would have to counteract that with maneuvering systems and not be able to use the full power of the engines. Also, the engines put weight on the edge of the wings, wich would harm maneuverability. I think the design would work much better if the engines were just 2, and mounted directly to the sides of the main body behind the cockpit. Also, the main central gun would probably look better if it was underslung on the bottom.
Zero ships will be broke down in this. And no stars will fight.
We’ve been lied to
Yo, great seeing you here.
so he fired an ion cannon at em?
@@twojacksandanace3847 Eck is the best Star Wars RUclipsr. This is the place to be!

Dude Eck, thank you for this comp. I really really hope you didn't do any of this editing work on Christmas, it's very smooth and immersive.
I love hearing the intro music so much more now. I have an appreciation for it, because of the awesome battle you had with the dark side theives.

I know its not popular, but the ARC-170 is one of my favorite fighters. I love the design of the ship. The TIE fighter is my top pick though.
It's kind of fun when you spot the WW2 plane that the ARC170 is based off of and have that eureka moment.
@ 1:39:20 the tri fighter or "clutch" is essentially a TIE phantom without the cloaking device. Two thumbs up for catching that!!!

I have a Micro Machines Action Fleet E-Wing from the 90's, the cannon over the canopy swings up with the canopy
Damn good thing. I was wondering how you were supposed to get the canopy open. Now explain how you fire the thing without blinding the pilot.

Have to head to bed right now! Definitely gonna watch this tomorrow though! Keep up the great work!
Why not both? Best thing is to fall asleep while listening to all the tech details.
This was great to listen to while playing crusader kings. An odd combo to be sure but a welcome one

I have always thought what would an E-Wing/X-Wing Hybrid/Ugly fighter look like and probably perform like?
That would just be an x wing with the s foils welded together
Or a fat x-wing
And a happy new year
Saw this and stopped my other video. 2 hours worth of awesome!
eckharts got me into legends, cause of him i started reading legacy of the force, and have now begun reading NJO and fate of the jedi

Love your videos. I kinda wants to see your vs videos again. Does not have to be just star wars
thanks, this makes the world of tanks grind easier to bear
Thanks for making this
damn i wonder how long this videos gonna be
The E wing fighter reminds me of the Stealth fighter "Laura" from Battlestar
Ah yes, just the video I need
