1:15:20 My suggestion for a better name for Infinity would've been the UNSC Indomitable Spirit. Which would work both for an ark ship and an ultimate battleship. Our spirit, despite everything, is unbreakable.
For the Infinity name segment. I thought of. UNSC Reach beyond harvest. As a nod to reach being the last major colony lost, and harvest being the first colony to make contact with the harvest. And it can also be seen as this ship is able to reach beyond one of the furthest colonies being Harvest. And finally the name can be a nod to the original intended use of the Infinity which was as an ark for the remnants of humanity who would have to go beyond their known colonies to escape the covenant.

The opening of the game was Captain Keyes initiating Cole Protocol and randomly jumping . When the game opened up hes talking to Cortana about how they managed to not only follow them through splispace but actually almost beat them to their random jump point; further proving the Covenants technological superiority
Tbh you are right about the cso being a carbon copy but bigger i did not know to this day that was a different ship than the normal carriers and i have beaten reach several times
Ive always seen unsc ships as an evolution of the A10, simplistic built to take punishment and escentially gun with wings or in terms of the unsc gun with engines.
1:17:53 UNSC Dark Horse could’ve been an interesting one. “a candidate or competitor about whom little is known but who unexpectedly wins or succeeds.”
I've noticed in reading the books that a lot of the UNSC tactics involve standing still and firing at the covenant. Some of the best UNSC victorys we see involve fast movements and good coordination on the UNSC part. Obviously, numbers will always be an issue. But if more commanders thought like Cole or Keyes the unsc may have had alittle more of a chance.
Some details in here from your older videos are now out of date. For example at 1:35:00 you start talking about the ship in the Halo Infinite map Highpower and theorize if its a redesigned Paris or Charon class frigate or if its a new ship class entirely. We now know it's a Mulsanne-class light frigate. You also speculate that it fires a MAC cannon like other frigates and attribute the different visuals to being just a change in art direction when now we know it's actually firing a Brightlance reflex laser.
Bear in mind the Covenant reverse engineered forerunner tech and didn't fully understand how the technology worked. Furthermore with the size of the covenant they made ships like Russians made the tanks at the end of the second world war.
Wanted to throw my hat in the ring for Infinity alternatives: -UNSC "Resurrection" -UNSC "Phoenix Fire" -UNSC "Immortal Persistence" -UNSC "The Tunnel's Light" -UNSC "Save Our Souls" -UNSC "Failed Extinction" -UNSC "Our New Hope" -UNSC "Born Anew"
I always felt like a good name for the Infinity would have been either Sol Invictus or Terra Invicta which means Unconqured Sun and Unconquered Earth, respectively.
There was a few inconsistencies, the one I saw first was the idea of eternity and infinity. The eternity was scrapped to be able to build the infinity faster, so we most likely won't see it later on, mainly because those super carrier classes were way too strong for the universe for the humans. This video was still really good for a star wars channel though.
I was getting very frustrated during my legendary play through on the mcc campaigns. Specifically during “long night of solace” because I was constantly outnumbered and it always seemed impossible to shoot one without being blasted by the others, and turning around after dodging the bombardment always left me looking at nothing for too long and eventually getting destroyed. But this video had made me appreciate the realism the legendary difficulty gave for halo reach. It’s like “I’m playing as a hyper lethal soldier, but I myself am not hyper lethal”
Idea for a video: Redesign the covenant's fleet just like what you done with your redesign imperial fleets video with the same rules as what was in that redesign imperial fleet video
The CSO could be useful in a strategy game as an automatic "cap the planet" unit. As in if you can keep the brick alive until it reaches the planet in question you deserve the insta-cap.
7 months late to this but if I would name the UNSC Infinity I would name it UNSC "On the Shoulders of Giants". Or some variation of it. "On Giants Shoulders" Pointing towards the advanced tech that went into it. Her Sistership the Eternity could then maybe named "Furthest Dawn(s) seen"
Tbh what I hope for halo's future is Sprit of fire shows up, the gang tracks down infinity’s crash site maybe battle 1 of the 4 banish dreadnoughts, spirit of fire is wrecked but reclaims infinity crash site, uses parts from infinity to fix and upgrade the spirt of fire, aritox goes crazy mode trying to activate the ring death mode to wipe out human space as revenge for his homeworld, spirit of fire and gang now have to make a desperate attempt to break through the 3 remaining banish dreadnoughts in one epic mission spirit of fire goes down in a blaze of glory but gets the gang to the control room for one last big fight, they win and return to earth victorious and legendary ending or something shows eternity being finished and rebranded spirit of fire
Reach represents Bungie’s most fully realised and loved designs, if they redesign the CAS cruisers in Reach then the Super carrier is no longer an identical upscaling but a unique ship.
@15:20 The Infinity class has a 50/50 chance against a single CAS assault carrier. If it goes up against a CSO it would be destroyed from the share firepower. None of the Infinity's weapons; including its mac would do much against the CSO other than nukes being planted on the ship. The events around the "Ambush at Oth Lodon" and the conflict at the start of Halo infinite shows that it can be damaged just like all the other titanium armored UNSC ships. It shields wont help either. Energy shields are weak towards plasma based weapons.
Iirc the covenant had many sub patterns to the CCS, that came to life after malfunctioning production. The CSO could be just like that, a hilariously oversized variant of the CAS. But still, those CCS variants were close to the base pattern in size, so i like to think that the CSO has insanely large interior xd
I love this! But something I’ve wondered is, does the UNSC track all the mac slugs drifting around the solar system at incredible rates? It’d be a shame of those enormous tungsten/depleted uranium slugs smashed into things unannounced.
I used to think of a story when I was trying to become a writer, that's on the back burner now, but it was about two large space stations/ships that were sent out as a last ditch effort to continue humanity when Earth was going caput. I think I named one of them Last Will or Last Wish or something. Would be a pretty good name for the Infinity I think. The other was Tears of Solace. Maybe a bit morbid as far as names go, but it was a pretty bad situation, right?
You know a halo game series set before the the first halo ring firing would be very good. Like halo: the great flood, Halo: fall of earth, and even Halo: Ark. Even a spin off game where humanity is fighting the forerunners and we can flesh them out more. Or even when the covinit just begins HALO: the journey begins.
Idk if it was just me, but I didn’t fully grasp how large the Infinity was in 4. Took Halo 5 and a little after that to fully understand. (Prob was just me looking back)

Some of the best UNSC victorys we see involve fast movements and good coordination on the UNSC part. Obviously, numbers will always be an issue. But if more commanders thought like Cole or Keyes the unsc may have had alittle more of a chance.
Music to my ears
Great video man
Wanted to throw my hat in the ring for Infinity alternatives:
-UNSC "Resurrection"
-UNSC "Phoenix Fire"
-UNSC "Immortal Persistence"
-UNSC "The Tunnel's Light"
-UNSC "Save Our Souls"
-UNSC "Failed Extinction"
-UNSC "Our New Hope"
-UNSC "Born Anew"
I always felt like a good name for the Infinity would have been either
Sol Invictus or Terra Invicta
which means Unconqured Sun and Unconquered Earth,
respectively.
Sorry to say but those names are worse
Eck is breaking down more ships than the Banished at this point
There was a few inconsistencies, the one I saw first was the idea of eternity and infinity. The eternity was scrapped to be able to build the infinity faster, so we most likely won't see it later on, mainly because those super carrier classes were way too strong for the universe for the humans. This video was still really good for a star wars channel though.
1:42:25 ""Hmmm, like milk, this aged""
- Weird frog on that swamp planet...
👀
I was getting very frustrated during my legendary play through on the mcc campaigns. Specifically during “long night of solace” because I was constantly outnumbered and it always seemed impossible to shoot one without being blasted by the others, and turning around after dodging the bombardment always left me looking at nothing for too long and eventually getting destroyed. But this video had made me appreciate the realism the legendary difficulty gave for halo reach. It’s like “I’m playing as a hyper lethal soldier, but I myself am not hyper lethal”
Oh my god old Eck videos, talk about a throwback
Idea for a video: Redesign the covenant's fleet just like what you done with your redesign imperial fleets video with the same rules as what was in that redesign imperial fleet video
1:08:49 it sounds like a torpedo boat style ship, which like destroyers, are very underutilized style of ship in sci-fi
343 already forgot about the infinity
The first ship I built in starship was a pelican. It’s all I’ve used since
Good shit.
If your gonna listen to halo ship facts. This is the channel. Will help you fall asleep as well too :)
I’m trying to figure it out. Is there an EAW mod he used for this video? If so what is it called? Ty
Really weird going from hockey to halo videos but all quality stuff
The Mother of Invention is just another on my list of absolutely glorious fucking names for the halo universe
The infinity is the only thing from 343 era halo I enjoy and they fucking blew it up!!!
I do not particularly care for Halo or its ship design, but itll be interesting to see if my mind is changed.
Always here for Eck of course.
sweet sweet feature length Halo stuff
Reach represents Bungie’s most fully realised and loved designs, if they redesign the CAS cruisers in Reach then the Super carrier is no longer an identical upscaling but a unique ship.
Super Long eckharts videos get me weeeeet 🥵
Hate to break it but the Punic you showed isn’t a Punic, it’s a Noryang Light Assault Carrier. Still! Love your cover of these ships!
What animation was used at 3:30 showing the long sword getting destroyed?
@15:20 The Infinity class has a 50/50 chance against a single CAS assault carrier. If it goes up against a CSO it would be destroyed from the share firepower. None of the Infinity's weapons; including its mac would do much against the CSO other than nukes being planted on the ship. The events around the "Ambush at Oth Lodon" and the conflict at the start of Halo infinite shows that it can be damaged just like all the other titanium armored UNSC ships. It shields wont help either. Energy shields are weak towards plasma based weapons.
I've missed your halo videos😂
YES!!! Christmas came a month late!
I would’ve liked to see ships that could transfer energy ship to ship to recharge the MAC like the ODPs were by ground base reactors.
Thank you my brother
Iirc the covenant had many sub patterns to the CCS, that came to life after malfunctioning production. The CSO could be just like that, a hilariously oversized variant of the CAS. But still, those CCS variants were close to the base pattern in size, so i like to think that the CSO has insanely large interior xd
I love this! But something I’ve wondered is, does the UNSC track all the mac slugs drifting around the solar system at incredible rates? It’d be a shame of those enormous tungsten/depleted uranium slugs smashed into things unannounced.
To say that the UNSC only had 2,000 ships at the height of their strength showcases how ridiculous of a military the UNSC actually was
To me for the names of the UNSC Infinity names one of them if they ever make another is Axios since it's a Spartan Hub ship
YES YES YES
I used to think of a story when I was trying to become a writer, that's on the back burner now, but it was about two large space stations/ships that were sent out as a last ditch effort to continue humanity when Earth was going caput. I think I named one of them Last Will or Last Wish or something. Would be a pretty good name for the Infinity I think. The other was Tears of Solace. Maybe a bit morbid as far as names go, but it was a pretty bad situation, right?
I always assumed the Long Night of Solace was the same ship type from halo 3 because the silhouette is seemingly identical.
In regards to a better name for the Infinity: UNSC Howling Dark
And its sister: UNSC Were It So Easy
what is that blue ship in 17:37?
the guardian?
Idk if it was just me, but I didn’t fully grasp how large the Infinity was in 4. Took Halo 5 and a little after that to fully understand. (Prob was just me looking back)
I miss halo fleet battles. Wish that table top game took off in NA ... i have the original unsc cov box set and need someone to play with
