  • Justin Hayward: The Harmony Tour 2023, Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall, Munhall, PA. "Never Comes the Day” from the 1969 Moody Blues Album "On the Threshold of a Dream", followed by “Your Wildest Dreams” from the Moodie’s 1986 Album “The Other Side of Life”. Accompanying Justin was his amazing touring band, consisting of Guitarist Mike Dawes, Flutist Karmen Gould (also Harmonica & Backing Vocals on “Never Comes the Day”) and Julie Ragins (Keyboards / Backing Vocals), who was unfortunately obscured from my view by a tower of speakers during the entire show.

Attaching my comment here since it will be the first. Was in Munhall for this performance and it was a most excellent and memorable evening. Thanks for sharing all 14 tunes on the setlist. How very lovely to have the opportunity to revisit the show at my pleasure! Have watched Justin perform for just over 56 years, evolved along with him, but admit the run of solo shows since the release of "Spirits' in 2013 has been the cherry on top of the sundae. So wonderful to see him on his own with his little troupe, shaping the setlists, and playing on his terms. Your videos are an early treat just ahead of Halloween, Pop. Audio and visual are both ace. Cheers.

Thank you so much for the kind comments, Blanche! A “Most excellent and memorable evening” it certainly was! Justin, backed by his fantastic touring band, chose 14 songs (from a vast catalogue) where each song “touched” on a specific point of a timeline spanning 56 years. That, in itself, was special. To see Mr. Hayward perform up close and personal , for me, was magical! I feel lucky to have seen the Moodies perform 3 times in the Pittsburgh area many years ago, (usually from “peanut heaven”) and although I still have my ticket stubs and Programs, memories do fade over time… I’m very grateful for artists like Justin Hayward, who permit these videos to be posted on RUclips… In a world currently full of violence and chaos, I feel that having the ability to relive moments like these bring a glimmer of joy and happiness back into our lives, especially at times when we need them the most☀️… ! Take Care, and Thanks Again! … Pop

@@pops_place You lovely, lovely man… one after my own heart. So agree with you. Justin’s vast and singular oeuvre is timeless. He has a knack for keeping the tunes he must in his setlists, then introducing a new one or two, perfectly sequenced, updated a bit with finesse, in collaboration with his tight little troupe who share his enthusiasm. Have seen Justin perform countless times. Am not necessarily a keeper of tickets or programs, but can recall each year with keen clarity. All have been exceptional. He’s evolved over the years, his compositions continue to resonate and, most importantly, Justin’s matured with grace and has remained humble, self-deprecating. That’s rare with aging rockers. Yes, we need more evenings like the one in Munhall, an escape from the world-weary headlines, the vitriol and divisiveness that are too prominent. Strongly believe that to change the world, each of us need to step up, be kind and compassionate, one person at a time to turn hearts, spread love. We share common dreams and aspirations. Bless you, Pop, for making my day, now my evening. All best wishes.

@@blanchehorst9734What a beautiful and thoughtful comment! I’ve read dozens of people’s comments about Justin; his voice, song writing ability, guitar playing, and really just everything. But I think you’ve expressed just how deeply his music has touched us. I too have followed him (and the Moodies) since the late 60’s. But it’s always been Justin’s songs that touch my heart the most. They describe my highest highs and also my lowest lows. I too have been following his solo concerts since 2013. Since June this year I saw him perform five times, each concert being outstanding. Over the past few years I devoted a lot of time (and money!) to updating and completing my CD collection of both the Moody Blues but especially Justin’s solo CDs. I also have every CD that I’m aware of that he performed on with other artists. Needless to say not a day goes by without me listening to his music. Can’t wait for his next tour to begin! Wishing you all the best! 😊

@@senamartinec7328 Bless you, Sena. It’s refreshing when artists remain grounded, focus on their compositions, keep pace with music as the tech and genres evolve over decades, are open to new opportunities, and stay true to their own integrity, acknowledge those who’ve inspired and mentored them along the way. Wish you all the best. Cheers.

His musicians are great!!!! Mike Dawes is one of the best guitar pieces in the world. He is awesome. There was a reason. Justin picked him to play lead while he’s playing rhythm on his acoustic guitar. You really need to listen to some Mike Dawes solo to really understand how unbelievably great this guy is he’s keyboardist goes back to the way he is unbelievable his flautist also goes back to the latter days While you might miss Mike Pender, genius in Meletron, John Lodge, Graham edge please look deep into the musicians, the back him up now they are very good. He wouldn’t have them, unless they were.

Justin is his usual beautiful self with his beautiful voice. As for the rest, fine musicians but they do nothing for me. While Justin is gracing us with his singing, John Lodge is missing. I know you're out there somewhere, somewhere, John. You two belong together: The richness of your harmonies, the camaraderie on stage. For over fifty years you two have been a match made in heaven. I will listen to you both with your new bandmates but will always be saddened by the decision to go solo. Perhaps I'm just being Moody, but this separation gives me the Blues. 😪

Hi Edward… I’d also like to see Justin and John perform together, but I can also understand the “Retirement” of what was once The Moody Blues after Graeme’s passing… but as long as they both live, breathe, and are willing to perform, theres always possibilities… i almost hate to say it, but with AI, you don’t even have to be alive anymore to have a hit single, aka The Beatles “Now and Then”…. Personally, thats the kind of technology that makes me “Moody”…. Its not a bad song by any means… i guess I’m just old school….🫤
