Great job! I’ve only 4 bad compressor during my entire life simply because they are actually that rare. I’ve been in HVAC for more than 50yrs. You did absolutely a great job,...congratulations.
Living on the wild side. Hoss I had a heatcraft freezer condenser kick channel 1.5 yrs old also on DTC on the scroll compressor leaking on top changed the whole condenser . Plus they had the service valve in backwards go to love quality control
Suggestion from an old TV repair guy: If you are planning on (or expecting to) get a shock, use your RIGHT hand! Keep your left hand in your pocket or behind your back or some other place it won't be touching something while you do it. Why? Most people have their heart on their left side. It's between your left hand and your wet feet. Using your heart as a fusible link isn't a good idea. There's not near as much important on the right side of your body.
I have heard that, thank you for mentioning it. I also have electrically insulated boots that help protect me as long as I'm not touching anything with a body part such as a hand or bar skin.
I got burned on a low pressure switch setting from a factory on a walk-in cooler. I replace the compressor and then within one week it was toast just like the one I found three phase lock rotor. Refrigerant 404a the cutout was 5 PSI. I end up having a pretty major refrigerant leak on the evaporator that I ended up replacing. I came to the conclusion because it was such a low cut out when it was partially charged it must have been short cycling on the low pressure switch cuz it's only five PSI cut out. I would recommend 20 psi cut out 80 psi cut in on 404a. I didn't put an adjustable one on I bought one that is 20 cut out 50 cut in it does short cycle once on Startup occasionally but it won't kill it. I didn't want to go through the extra if trying to get an adjustable one in there. Just figured I'd pass the info along to what happened to me on a job just recently. I wouldn't have that cut out the so low I would want to cut out at 20 psi on a walk in cooler with 404a
We generally use adjustable ones, I usually c.o. around 3-9 psi, otherwise the compressor will sort cycle because the remaining refrigerant will boil off raising the pressure back up. It also depends on how old the compressor is and if it's capable of pumping down as far as I wanted to pump. Thanks for mentioning that, I will keep that in mind. 👍👍
Good vid ! Regarding putting the disconnect back in or out in bad weather. i Just use my Leather gloves i got at home depot. they are not expensive. under $10.00 i think 4.99/pair. they are great. just throw them in the tool bag on top.

Why put a new potential relay on a compressor that was pulling amps and no compression. You should have ohmed out compressor terminals before cooling it down and had amp clamp on compressor leads when starting it. Sequence of troubleshooting can save time and money
Maybe I speak too quickly, I told you in the beginning that the start capacitor was blown. What would cause the start capacitor to blow up? That's correct, the potential relay sticking would cause that. The relay was not new it was a used one I had on my truck. Why check resistance when I can check amp draw, if it's a open circuit it will be zero amps. Generally the only time I check resistance is to check for shorts to ground and to verify what terminal is what.
Potential relay sticking usually trips the breaker. I missed the part about the start cap tho, thats abit of an unfortunate spate of breakdowns. I prefer to see ampdraw whenever i try to start a compressor, especially after replacing start components. If it works for you tho whatever...

it's been a few days so I'm not sure what the super heat was when the box reached temp but everything look good when I was there. Otherwise I would have adjusted the TXV. Generally I like 8 to 10 degrees superheat for a cooler but the superheat at the compressor overrides the TXV superheat.

I’ve changed to flat rate. That way the customer is not complaining about the labor for the Labor charge. That job with a $589 compressor would be $1450 plus tax.
The disconnect should not give you even the slightest tingle if you pulled it in a downpour. An electrician should check that out before someone gets hurt.
In a perfect world you would be correct. But it's not a perfect world. I speak from experience. It won't kill you but it won't feel good.
I don't normally size them but the manufactures have a book that you can look up the box size then size it based off of the physical location of the environment it will be used at and what temperature you want to maintain inside it.
The company I work for now it's the first company that gives us a set amount to buy and maintain our tools. Yes I've paid for about every fancy tool I have. Except for 2 or 3. The torches, vacuum pump and weight scale are provided. I own all those tools that are provided but keep them at home.
You should consider changing your title since Walk-in coolers cannot hold ice cream since they only hold temperature to 35 degrees, Walk-in freezers however can maintain ice cream.
You would be correct if I didn't say mix but it's still just mix until it's frozen and air added to it before it becomes ice cream. At that point it's still liquid mix. I get what you're saying but it's keywords that draws people's attention to watch the video.

How do I calculate the heatsink how much capacity the compressor needs
We don't call it a heat-sink, do you mean the condenser?
@@HVACRSurvival I mean, the calculation of each freezing or cooling room, how many btu or how much system does each room need, how do I know that
I don't normally size them but the manufactures have a book that you can look up the box size then size it based off of the physical location of the environment it will be used at and what temperature you want to maintain inside it.
@@HVACRSurvival Thanks and may God guide you to the straight path
I pray 4 guidance and strength everyday, thank you 👍
The paint on that compressor tells me it had a rough life
🤣🤣🤣👍👍
The tools you got you pay for, like the umbrella, compressor coller, etc,,our the compagnie does
The company I work for now it's the first company that gives us a set amount to buy and maintain our tools. Yes I've paid for about every fancy tool I have. Except for 2 or 3. The torches, vacuum pump and weight scale are provided. I own all those tools that are provided but keep them at home.
👍
Thanks man 👍👍
You should consider changing your title since Walk-in coolers cannot hold ice cream since they only hold temperature to 35 degrees, Walk-in freezers however can maintain ice cream.
You would be correct if I didn't say mix but it's still just mix until it's frozen and air added to it before it becomes ice cream. At that point it's still liquid mix. I get what you're saying but it's keywords that draws people's attention to watch the video.
I think you meant o say full of ice-mush :))
#15 thumbs up
If that's one of those places that charges by weight and pop you for $20+ when you fill er up... they can afford it
No, it's a locally owned place and the owner is a great guy to work with.
Yeah I think the connecting rod M about the broken that the pressure why wouldn't do not suppose to do would you did the right thing by Room placing the pressure and changing out the the or on it I did things like that on or cooling system worked on that 1 non time ago work Donna heat and there a boner rueful man that was something and that the head or a big lift in their lift up the the the pressure out of it and put the new compressor and oboi it was the it was all done a storm coming in and that when I wouldn't so cool That would so cool that thunderstorm coming we had to go and then the truck route quick and Aaron and wait for the storm though go through and of now there and the lugger that another star It was like a bench storm name star Like convenience store Like a vignette store pretty good size building who good thing with his at that about finishing up on the on the compressor
no such things ish ish
What's that?
