I put the Bohns in for years, when I got a new style one sent to me I sent it back, I’m not installing that garbage. Terrible terrible change to their design. Ordered the tecumseh outdoor unit instead, it’s a beautiful unit.
i had a Heatcraft unit here in New Zealand. The supply house would label it Henry, interlink and AC &R under their label. All of it came out of China. The copper was corroded and green before brazing. I had to use emery cloth and flux to get 15% silver to adhere 🤣
I use the screwdriver sticking method to check the solenoid...but be advised...the energy to the solenoid does not 100% guarantee that the valve opens.
Great video as always. 😊 Just had my new Daikin installed to replace my Panasonic and had the Mitsubishi Electric repaired and both are working great.... Just as the Australian summer ends. Oh well. 🤣
My truck stock is a joke compared to previous companies that I have worked at so I haven’t shown it much. I do however have a truck waiting for me it’s going to get the same old shelves I have now😒. We’re not big into trucks unfortunately but they pay much better than any place I’ve worked. So I kinda traded a nice truck for more bucks. 😉
Very thorough troubleshooting sir, you kept digging in to find the root of the problem. Thank for the tip checking liquid line solenoid with the amp meter
❄💪🇺🇸👍 great vid. Reason for evaporator fans not running? Was warm box temp shutting fans off dtfd switch ? I understand condenser fan down causes hi head n shut down but evaporator fans not running?
Good troubleshooting and repair work. Without the gauges on the unit to know pressutes, I was leaning toward suspecting the evaporator fan delay switch. As you already know, sometimes they are in a two-in-one arrangement, enclosed in the same body as the defrost termination switch and sometimes they are a separate switch all to itself. With the gauges attached to the system, that high head would have been seen right away. Again, good troubleleshooting work on your part.
While watching the fan motor replacement this thought popped into my mind, "if it won't go, force it, if it breaks, well it needed replacement any way".
As always another kick a** video Rick. You have an exceptional talent for thinking things through logically. Sequence of operations and understanding how and what components are supposed to do and when they are supposed to do it. Oh and the Rick D on the allen key set.....makes me think you were the 5 member of the Beastie Boys.....hahahahahaha just playing....chat at you later on the live stream
Seems nothing was quite right about that install. I kept focusing on the use of non exterior rated flex cord for the mains power, that and the use of a non-watertight fitting (romex clamp?) on the side. 🤦♀️ you appear to have much more patience for slop than I, sir Rick!

Thanks! that makes sense!
I want that side cutter. Good vid
Cut off wheel for the win!
😂🤜🤛👍👍
Have a phone adapter Flir but have not used it often enough.... hope to see you showing other uses for the thermal camera... kudos!
Trying to find any good reason to use it after spending the money I did 😂

Also curious where you found your flipable 11/32-3/8 bit! I haven’t seen those in Canada anywhere and malco doesn’t list it on their website.
@@Freezier134a it's Klien. If you use the link it supports the channel at the same cost to you. amzn.to/3Io8nP5
Good vid as usual and I bought those Klein sockets off the link you listed below ... Thx for the heads up ...
Cool, thanks Eddy!👍👍

You ever do a truck tour video.

Lol That's me trying to be funny
Good job Rick.
Thanks John!
Nice troubleshooting and repair
Thanks for watching!!

That's a cool little trick that makes sense, I wish I could take credit for it 😂👍👍
I like the thermo image camera, what brand is it? Are those expensive? I see how that could save time. Thanks love the videos
Flir, about $700 now, I got it for about $550 area less than a year ago
What a pain to get that fan motor out .
I read those washers they look like the right size lololol
Rick, as always the video is awesome !
Thanks🐻

The defrost termination switch wasn't cold enough yet to bring on the EVAP fans.
@@HVACRSurvival thanks Rick Great troubleshooting. Very helpful

Was that a McMillan motor?
Oops just seen interlink

When next I'm in the market for some HVAC/R tools, I'll be sure to use that code. Are you doing the affiliate link think with TTT as well?
Yes sir. I got to make the links yet, hopefully this week👍👍

I can complain but nothing gets done about it. I gave up and only worry about the work I do unless its a safety issue
I absolutely hate those new Bohns, nothing makes sense in them.
I agree 💯👍👍
Я понять не могу зачем ставить таймер на оттайку? Если можно поставить контролёр например еливел id 974 и контактор и таймер тогда не нужен.???!!!!
С механическим таймером проще и надежней.

😁👍👍

What a piece of trash design that Bohn condensing unit looks. Hope I don't run into one.
I know your making these videos to help people .. but it’s hard watching your videos .. you sound good but .. you still have years to go ..lol
Thanks, I think?

Thanks again for the videos!
