    I like being able to set varying defrost times, shorter in day to keep health inspector from crying if they cycle the doors a bunch, then longer defrost in closed hours to remove the ice. sure not needed if you have heaters and termination stat.
    the inspectors always seem to be there on the busiest days at the worst hour and they'll find a needle in the haystack, which was out on a slicer multiple times in a row. best keeper all colder than usual!

I often go on calls where I start to find problem after problem to the point that I question and second guess myself that there is no way all of these problems exist all at once and the unit was running yesterday or a few hours ago. Typical refer call, nice video. Your right, those timeclocks cost more for a lower quality. Heatcraft typically doesn't install a divider between the condenser fans. No problem if both run, but hard to run only one with fan cycle switch. Air takes path of least resistance through off fan. That condition can also get off fan spinning backwards before switch goes to turn it on again, not good for motor. Over years fabricated a divider between fans, works much better, just not as good as head master.

    Good afternoon in Europe we have commercial condensing units from Daikin that units is utilizing R410A as primary refrigerant instead of R448A or R449A and is full inverter because the way of thinking is like Daikin VRV. Those systems it takes much smaller piping and match lower quantity of refrigerant on the cycle. I was curious how is designed this thing and one day when i was on PM on those units i was doing some discovery of the cycle it have head master control and fan cycle control via VFD and master compressor with VFD (Daikin VFD like this on VRV's)

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  2 года назад +1

      I haven't worked on a walk in that uses 410a, only climate cooling. The GWP is the reason for the new refrigerant. 🙄 404a has a GWP 3943, 448a has 1273, 410a has 1924.

    • @panagiotispsomas5611
      @panagiotispsomas5611 2 года назад +2

      @@HVACRSurvival here in Europe with the AR4 the R404A have 3922 the R410A 2088 and R448A 1387 if the refrigerant is not flammable is allowed up to 40 kW (38-37 kw) if the system is larger is mandatory to use A2L refrigerants. The R410A in commercial Refrigeration systems have a lot more Kj/kg but is "restricted" from companies only Daikin have designed systems for R410A on the commercial Refrigeration side. The Daikin zeas is more like a Refrigeration rack with built in condenser and VFD for the compressor and the fan than a condensing unit for just one individual walk-in cooler.

      If there's not enough refrigerant the coil won't get down to temperature so it just runs and runs and runs and never defrost. The thermostat senses coil temperature of about 18° to shut off then has a constant cut in of about 38°. If there's not enough refrigerant it won't hit that number to shut off temp and defrost.
