      Hey86bresnahan - I couldn't agree with you more! Honestly I love all eras of Death but this album for some reason just resonates with me so much more. Its an absolute classic and the ideas that are presented on this are so far above their station. Its incredible. I hope that you enjoyed the video my friend and thank you so much for watching!

      B0gdaN - I absolutely agree with you there my friend. I have to say that my allegiance has been with Human for a long time, given I think to the fact that was the album that saw them really take off into the world of Prog but I absolutely love Spiritual Healing and of course Symbolic and ITP - Scream Bloody Gore of course has its merits as does Leprosy. All Death's discography goes down as rewriting Metal's history. Can you imagine what we would have now in the modern day if Chuck was still alive? Anyway man, it means the world to me that you watched the video let alone commented! I hope that you enjoyed the video :) And thank you so much for checking out the show

      TheMetalTris My favorite albums are Human and Leprosy, I like them a bit more than the rest. Also, if Chuck never had cancer, we would have control denied, but who knows how much Chuck would have evolved.

    I've never heard a more comprehensive breakdown of Death. They are such an important band that will live forever in history as the ones that started it all for countless bands around the world. All these yrs later you can listen to any of them and it's just as fresh and modern now as it was then. 🤘🤘

    • @TheMetalTris
      @TheMetalTris 6 лет назад +2

      Hey Chris!
      Honestly, you're too kind! I really do think that they are one of the most important bands in the Metal genre that their influence cannot go understated. With every album they forged a new path and its not many bands that you can say really did that for the genre. Death are something else completely. You're exactly right, I remember when I first heard Death must have been about 5 - 6 years ago now when I was really getting into them. I worked my way through their discography one summer and listened to literally everything that they had ever made in chronological order so that I could make sense of it. Anyway dude, thank you so much for the kind words man and I'm so happy that you're enjoying the content I'm putting together!

      Hey Brett! I couldn't agree more, I would have loved to have met him. I feel that as a human he would have had such a positive energy, despite a lot of the negative connotations that lyrics might bring with them at the end of the day Schuldiner saw the humanity in humans. It was a real treat to be able to do this video and for as many people to check it out as they, thats the real honour for me! Thanks so much for the continued support Brett my man!

      Hey Michael! Its a wird one isn't it with Death. I feel that everyone has their own starting place when it comes to the band. Some beginning (like I did) with Scream Bloody Gore but then others just kick off right at the top. Truth be told I did buy TSOP and wasn't sure what to do with it so I just kept it as a CD for a long time before I thought "Hey, why not, lets give it a go" you never know, I might like it now! @@TheMetalTris Sorry for the late reply. I discovered Death when I was 14 in 2009 as I was just forming my musical taste and interest in metal, and since then they've consistently stayed in my top 5 favorite bands.

      J J Hey JJ well thanks so much for the kind words my friend! I have to agree with you, what Chuck did for Metal is ever lasting and for me it’s a continuous change of TSOP and Human for my favourite or Symbolic. Every album has its unique aspects and is just another stepping stone towards the final hour of Death and Control Denied. I absolutely love this record and I hope that you enjoyed the video and it did TSOP justice haha! Sadly I don’t do these videos for MetalSucks any more but I have plenty of reviews and interviews on my channel if you’re interested. Let me know pal! Cheers!

      @hjl4754 5 лет назад

      The sound of perseverance has been in my car CD player for the last 2 years. I just can't take it out because it's just so damn brilliant. My best friend said to me the other day that someone asked him why metal heads don't listen to commercial music. He replied to them and said that if you ever had to sit down with me and I had to put a death CD on and explain every song to you about what every instrument is doing and the song structures etc. You will either get it or not but he will be explaining to the person for at least a month. There is 1 thing about listening to and playing metal. It keeps the human brain functioning at extremely high levels and it just shows us what we can achieve.

    However, most people forget, that Sound of Perseverance was meant to be a Control Denied record. Chuck wrote most of the songs with the intention of it becoming the first Control Denied record, but could not get it released by Nuclear Blast, unless he made it into a Death record.
    I am so glad he did! I love this album and also the inclusion of one of the best covers in metal! (Painkiller)

    Death metal is probably my favorite metal genre yet for some reason I've never gotten into Death. I'm going to listen to this album again to see if it moves me. Baring in mind that I was a child of the Metalcore movement for sure. Killswitch were my jam hah ! I think that once you get over the initial difficulty of the vocals then everything else just falls into place you know? But having said that I know just how hard it is to even get to that point. I was certainly impressed with your passion for the record and all your reviews overall. I did spin the record again yesterday after watching this video. It was a better listening experience but I paid more attention to it so I think that helped. For sure some amazing musical moments. I thought their Painkiller cover crushed. I will definitely give it more spins. An Evolving Ape Hey man! That’s so great to hear! One of the things I enjoy the most about these series is the fact that it makes me go back to records that I might have forgotten about or not listened to in a while with a completely fresh pair of ears!
      It means a lot that you enjoyed the video though and that the passion cake through haha I spent a whole summer dissecting Death from SCBG right up to TSOP and they’re one of my all time favourites. As for Unique Leader you’re a man after my own heart haha! Cognitive’s new album is pretty killer and as for new material I mean it was Unique Leader that brought us Fallujah. Need I say more hahaha! I have actually had Cynic in my sights! Potentially a video on either Focus or Traced In Air (one of my favourite albums) I first heard that record from my friend who picked it up randomly and showed me at his house. He's now the bassist of Good Tiger if you know them? Its an absolute masterpiece and if I can I would love to do it justice to its 10 year anniversary, so keep an eye out! Thank you so much for watching this video and i hope that you're enjoying the series so far? Is this your favourite Death album?

      Manuel Clavijo Hey dude! Oh man The Malkuth Grimoire is absolutely brilliant! The Funeral for a Continent song is so great. Morean’s vocals are too notch. So glad they’re signed to Season of Mist now too! You’re a man with good taste! :) thanks for all the kind words as well dude
