I love the breakdown and I appreciate your effort but one thing I never understand is how people can complain about the set up and takedown of a paint sprayer. I feel like it can equally be argued that using a roller has its own disadvantages and quirks a lot of people don’t care to save their rollers like I do maybe or many other people, but scraping the paint off of the roller, and then cleaning the rollers off, having drops everywhere I mean you’re already halfway there to the effort that it takes to put up the sprayer and you get a better product almost every time I think this is a unique situation where the product is comparable but most of the time a paint sprayer delivers way more of a quality finish.
I’ve use a sprayer for an exterior on my house. Also a few interior room jobs and yeah the set up and take down is different but if you don’t mentally get trapped by the time that it takes the mask things and realize that there’s really not that much to clean up. If you do it right paint spray is the way to go .

Outstanding! Just the sort of thing in need. I'm building a dj console table. Ya know two turntables. Old school. But on a budget and rather than splurge on an expensive butcher block top (i can do that later funds willing) i want to just cut a plywood top and paint it black. And honestly it's gonna be largely covered with tables and a mixer anyways so it only has to be midly presentable. Plus also i'm gonna have to do it in a small apartment so rolling it is probably what i'm gonna settle on rather than building a makeshift indoor paint booth. Done it before to paint a guitar. It's kinda a pain in the A. But great info.

If you want the paint to level and don't want to buy a high end sprayer, you can just add a little Flood to your paint. They sell it in the paint section, one for oil paint and one for water based. It makes the paint level out to a very smooth finish. You can even brush it on and it'll level out to a very smooth finish.

Thank you. This was super informative. Can I ask a basic question? Why use that wood filler after the initial primer coat? Isnt birch plywood almost entirely smooth after sanding? I ask since its hard to judge the effect without a close up.

@philhario3640 unfortunately, the plywood available at my local hardware isn't perfectly smooth.

Maybe using a masonry filler instead of a wood filler reacted to the latex? Also enamel on top of latex probably doesn't sit flat, as seen in your vids.
Would like to see 2x spray panels with primer done by spray as well, as you did all 4 primer with roller, instead of 2 primer by spray.
Best comparison video so far, thank you! Liked & Subscribed

I've always used AG100 (White Davies Aqua Gloss It) and it was my first time trying a new color last weekend. Medyo tinamad akong linisin at ilabas ung Lotus sprayer ko so I tried foam roller. And I regret not spending that extra 5 minutes cleaning and taking out my sprayer because it took me the whole day to get the same result that I get with my sprayer when I used the roller. :)

Hello sir. Is it okay to use flatwall enamel as an alternative primer and still use masonry putty?

  • @gordonflash8976
    @gordonflash8976 Год назад

So from what I saw you needed to wax and grease clean between your coats. This may well have minimised that problem you had painting over the latex.
Also I saw you correctly point out the spots that needed more sanding on the latex, and more sanding is exactly what it needed as those low spots that did not get sanded as much as the rest of it would also have contributed to the undesirable finish you got.
Separately a second under coat over the latex nearly always gets a better result than painting straight over the latex.

Adjust the pressure of the Spray Gun depending on the thickness of the paint and you'll never get air bubbles as shown in video...

    • @VincheroKarpintero

For me, yes it's worth it because not only does it allow you to suck up all the dust but it also preserves the abrasive surface from getting clogged up.

Don't have enough experience with locally available spray guns to have an opinion on this but I hear Wenger spray guns are really good in the US/Canada.

Try applying primer with a spray gun. You'll get a flatter and more even surface.
