    How are we this far along in this game’s lifespan and we still don’t know the stake is the best perch to use when building anything? I joke I joke, but really using a stake makes building anything extremely easy!
    This is quite amazing. I really like this!

      Try using the large rectangular stone slab. I feel like it's superior to the stake.

    • @ericwindsor339

      its annoying when you have to manoeuvre around it so it doesn't get stuck in your autobuild lol

    • @zammich3649
      @zammich3649 7 месяцев назад +14

      the problem with the stake is you have to remove it afterwards, and autobuild only seems to remember when you ADD stuff. so whatever you're building has to have at least 1 component that can be added with precision AFTER removing the stake if you want the autobuild to work right

    you probably already know, but if you attach a dragon scale to you vehicle, it will extend the range it exists without de-spawning to large enough to park outside any cave without losing it. You can auto-build fake dragon scales and it still works

    My dad made a hover bike that slides across the ground with the physics broken railing. To find it on youtube, the video is called TOTK Hover Bike ++ w/ Rail (Ground Slider) by
    Trekrider. Because of the railing's low gravity it only requires two fans and you can transport Koroks. Your design has a couple advantages of better traversing through water and easier maneuvering through tight spaces, but my dad's works on both sand and snow since it's essentially a sled with fans and uses less battery with only two fans. The two designs seem to compliment each other very well and I'm definitely going to add this one to my autobuild too.

    ok mine’s a little unbalanced but this is just what I needed! Unfortunately I already finished all the caves and depths but being close to the ground but highly maneuverable is exactly what I need to keep searching for the wells. a dragon piece counterweight might help with the balance & keep it from respawning

  • @wouterW24
    @wouterW24 7 месяцев назад +16

    It's a interesting design, might try it, especially since it handles cliffs.
    There's a glitched rail you can obtain that allows flying machines that can fly stable close to the ground without flipping, but it's a bit broader and the lack of cliff scaling persists.
    I really miss the master cycle, it was just so polished with controls, being able to steer without accel on, being able to realign while standing still, having that little hop, being able to fall great heights, and especially summoning it on a whim and hopping on it before it's even fully formed. The wheels can do none of those, and especially with the summoning it's just part of your moveset. You don't ever have to protect it or drag with you since it's always in front of you when you need it, so on the rare occasions you do need to get off to jump or scale something you can just do so, preferably mid air driving off cliffs full speed.
    The zonai devices are magic with coding but they are all intentionally a bit clunky and improvised to use. At least flight is awesome.

    1 this is amazing 2 heres a handy guide on making a highly effective weaponized version of this that also covers some neat building tricks along the way
    - First attach two extra fans to the top snapping point to increase its carrying capacity
    - Next attach a dragon part between the two back fans (horn fits into that space best but any will work) both to improve balance and massively increase the distance you can move away before it will despawn preventing zonite waste
    - Now add two lights on the back fans facing forward also for balance (i chose lights for added utility but anything of a similar weight will work)
    - Now its time to make an omni directional pulse laser (easier than it sounds) just attach a construct head head (head first) to another construct head at a 45 degree angle so that they face eachother then attach a laser to the EYE of the top construct head, if you've done it right the laser will fire in bursts only with enemies around not constantly
    - Finally attach your turret to the front of the wheel at an angle so it points out and up and now you have a crazy effective weaponized version
    PS for some context if anyone didn't know making the laser pulse fire makes it literally 10-15x more effective because when it hits an enemy that enemy gains temporary immunity to that beam for a few seconds but when it pulses on and off that immunity is reset each time allowing for a single beam to do the work of 10

    You mention the vehicle despawning as a possible concern and one of the advantages of being able to use the vehicle as you travel through caves, which is a valid concern, but did you know that by attaching a dragon part to a build, the entire build inherits the dragon part's massive "do not despawn this item" radius?
    This is why my Autobuild of the basic hoverbike has a light dragon scale poking out from the front edge of the front fan, because this doesn't affect the balance too much and makes it so my hoverbike is still there even if I venture pretty deep into a cave after parking it
    To clarify, it doesn't need to be a real dragon part; even a fake dragon part created through Autobuild will give the build the massive despawn radius, at the cost of 3 more Zonaite for each summon
    The best part is that if I don't want to have the dragon part on it and/or don't want to spend the extra 3 Zonaite, I can simply pull out the dragon part from my inventory and drop it on the ground, do the Autobuild, and pick up the dragon part to remove it from the build, kinda making it like a "summon material", in a way
    It adds an extra step per summon, but having the option to decide whether or not you want that extra functionality is worth that slight hassle, in my eyes
    I'll definitely be adding a dragon scale to the Skeeter when I build it for myself :P

    Something like the build at 1:38 to 1:51 would also be a good land-air vehicle and if you put more fans on it, you could add weapons to it. You would just need to do the Infinite Wing glitch and use that for the build. The new infinite battery glitch could also help if that's too energy inefficient for you.
    (Edit:Actually, I might try this in a while...)

    FYI: I tested this out in my first run-through back when I commented three months ago. I managed to balance it without doing the middle fan thing. It was a lot of fun, especially since by that point I had two full layers of battery energy. Since then, I've started a new show called my "Glory Run" which is me doing a second run-through benefitting from what I learned the first time. I've been looking forward to doing this bike but it is such a battery hog that I'm only able to get to it now. I rewatched the video today to refresh my memory of the build. I'm hoping to test it out on my April 1 show (on my channel, if anyone cares) and save it to autobuild. At least with this design, it can be ground based so you can rest and recover without your vehicle needing reorientation with Ultrahand, and that's a nice selling point.

    Yeah. I got annoyed because my flying bike would fall into the water. So after finding the hovercraft down in the depths, I decided to crest a flying hovercraft instead. So it goes air land and water for me. And if I do fall off and it lands in the water, it will just float right back up. And I even have an easy time using recall in the air with it and standing in it. Honestly not the cheapest design, especially since I use 6 fans, but since I can still dupe with ease, I have no problem with a costly design. To the point I have a big launch craft I use under my hovercraft to get to further distances faster.
