they r my dream car but idk if i would take my own 2013 range rover supercharged sport suv through any of this since it is a $200,000 SUV but i agree that it does make me smile that they do this all

That was fun. It was nice to see how amazing LR did with stock Michelin tires. It reassures me that the Rovers can tackle rough terrain even with normal gear. This was helpful especially if you veer off course unexpectedly.
That car is immaculate! It's beautiful and i luv how it looks, very expensive and premium quality! Makes it definitely look modern and futuristic!
That was not the intention when the Range Rover first came out. It would've been very easy for them to make a large soft roader, but the Range Rover has always been an exceptional off road vehicle in it's stock trim. Plenty of people go offroad in them, the lack of youtube videos is not any indicator that they don't.

The idea with the Range Rover is that it can do everything well. It does have off-road ability (though you might be scared to scratch it), but it's also a seriously capable limo.
Range rover is like iPhone, still expensive but has a wonderful performance 👏

For big ass vehicles with city slicker tires I have to say they did amazingly well. If they had slapped on some mud or all terrain tires they would have walked through all of that. All said, I still want one.

@Ramon25D Yes it is. In terms of the abs actuated traction control. You need to give it some throttle in situations where you have three wheels spinning for instance. It will get power to the last wheel with traction. They both have better 4wd drive systems than the classic mechanical centre diff type.

Yes they do. In the UK, LR Range Rovers, Discoverys (LR4) and Defenders (the most common) are all used off road even though the majority of owners use them in the city.
Considering road tyre pressures, these things performed incredibly.
The Range Rover is in a class of its own for sure!
THIS IS A REAL SUPER CAR, WILL BUY ONE FOR SURE
with the today technology, it's not hard to produce a capable 4 wheel drive, and the Range Rover is one of it. However, off roading is not just going outside for a try, a good 4X4 is the one who can do this on all terrain during years.
That's why a Land Cruiser, or a Land Rover Defender goes into history for its real off roading abilities ...

By the look of the video, it looks like all-season tires. Not good tread patterns like you would find on a wrangler. Looks like this SUV would do awesome with better tires!

this was an event for auto journalists to demonstrate Rang Rover capabilities right off showroom floor with no special options.
Make sense... In any colorado trailhead the owner would feel totally out of place.

with all due respect, cars are reliable so long as the owner takes care of it, i got a 2nd hand defender, the previous owner babied it, as do i, (look at my vids, i still offroad with it) but it has never once failed me....apart from the light switch.
I think all-terrain tires would do it some good. Seems to me like it was having a hard time getting a hold of the ground.
Of course, these tires are not for off-road, but I am impressed with the off-road abilities of this car!

Really - a winch on the front of his LR4/Discovery 4- with road tyres. REALLY!?
First thing you notice is how the independent suspension lacks the articulation u get with a fixed axel

I adore these RR's. Comparing SUV's stock for stock, these are Kings. Now as for reliability, cost of ownership, etc...I fear these.

what is the point of having a manual terrain response knob when there is a automatic mode..
Because if you can see there is going to be sand you’d rather the car is prepared for it before it gets itself stuck?

It frustrates me how many people miss the point here, talking about how good for example a jeep is off road and this that and the other. People must remember that as well as exceptional off road qualities the Range Rover also has exceptional on road manners too, simply better than any other manufacturer can manage (especially for such a large car). Also the level of luxury and refinement on offer (ie the package as a whole) cannot also be matched. £ for £ the best car in the world right now.
