Land rovers are really a benchmark in off roading, if only they could improve over their reliability issue, it'll be gem of a car. Love'em
Except for their low profile tires, huge wheels which force you to have them and no more solid axles, lack articulation, making them raise wheels up in the air all the time, no lockers standard or ever in front, compared to a Jeep Rubicon. I own a discovery Series 2 that is very modified and I love it but I live here in Southern Arizona and I'm telling you Land Rover is not a benchmark compared to Jeep Wrangler Rubicon when it comes to real real real serious off-roading. Again I like Land Rover but they are not a benchmark at all only luxury. They can't even do the Rubicon Trail in Colorado in a stock Defender but they can do it in a stock Bronco and a stock Jeep Rubicon. They only do good where they're meant to do good on the test land in England where it's just Grassi and muddy and super easy green Lanes
People moaning about the street tyres they use- the purpose of these experience days a lot of the time, is to give people who have bought the car a demonstration of its off road capabilities in its standard form- or at least without fitting tyres which would compromise ride on tarmac. It shows that whenever you need it, it will be able to handle whatever you throw at it.
Jack Abergel exactly right!
For as long as it doesn't break, terribly unreliable cars.
@@69scar69able You have owned a Land Rover before, and it has broken?
The low profile tyres are for high speed on road handling and wont add to on road comfort at all and will actually give a harsher ride. Range rovers are not very good 4 wheel drives but the people who buy them dont get them because they want to do hardcore off roading. They are more for snow on normal road or a dirt road on a country estate. The correct tyres let down to around 18psi would double the ability of the car off road but that is still far below the capability of a Toyota Land Cruiser or a Nissan Patrol.
Florentino De la Rosa They ALWAYS break. Statistics and facts.... search ‘Landrover reliability’
This is the first Video, in wich I see that the Range Rover realy is driven Offroad to it's Limits. All the other people on their Channels just talk how good it is but drive it only on the street. Great Job Guys … Thank you. In reference to the Jungle Track, the railway obstacle at 8:42 was new for me, never seen it before …. one of my favourite obstacles ist that ramp/staircase with the steps you drove down at 10:17 … next time, please drive UP there … The Range Rover can do it as also the Defenders and Discos can. At 12:30 this huge holes driving steep uphill, …… filming from the Bottom how the car crawls slowly up the hill and through this what they are called, Elephant Foot Prints, LOL, would be great. Well, thanks so much for this fantastic Video … Thumbs up!
Take a Jeep Rubicon from the factory and watch it do all that without even looking wheels off the ground I'm not using traction control just reliable coil springs solid axles disconnected links and front and rear Locker. You want to take one of those to the limits take it over here to Southern Arizona on rock crawling trails that a factory Jeep could do and a factory Bronco. Check out the tfl off road page and watch when they took the Rubicon the new Defender and the new Bronco and the new Defender kept on popping tires twice because they used all of them and Factory form and Landover puts those joke huge wheels and silly low profile tires and then the traction control just kept making it Shake in Jitter because there is too much Rocky step-ups and it would not just go because the combination of traction control and air suspension maxed-out lift it all the way up gave it no more plush feel and it was just super stiff really high up on its tippy toes and that makes it perform very poorly even though it gives it a little ground clearance but the funny thing is when the defender was on its maximum height it became the height of the Rubicon when it's it's natural on its coil springs and a Defender kept raising wheel so much instead of articulating and keeping the wheels on the ground because those are real Trails they took it on like the Rubicon Trail the defender can't do it even when on 35s modified it could barely do it. These types of obstacles are just made to make the Land Rovers look good and I'm saying all that but look at my profile picture I want to Discovery 2 pretty modified. That means I like Land Rover and I'm still talking crap because they are a gimmick now and they are overpriced they do everything the most complicated strange way possible instead of simple tried-and-true kind of how they first copy jeep that should have kept doing it. The Jeep Rubicon is the most capable thing you can buy from the factory hands down even that Australian overlanding guy I forget his name but he's that blond guy who always reviews things for the last couple decades and he finally admitted the Rubicon was the best when he had it in the sand dunes while all the skinny Tire British Riggs getting stuck
It's amazing what this car can do with does street tires.
Great video. Liked the simpleness of the footage. What a machine!
I 100% need to do this!
After reading some of these comments 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
That noise is abs, those wheels and tyres are road wheels and tyres! To show you what it's capable of, imagine some bigger grabber tyres on it.
Why is the range rover for me : I can drive it down the dual carriage way, pull off over the kerb and drive into my wet, boggy, rutted field...then drive home again! Bliss.
Very impressive what it could do with the standard wheels and tyres! The Land Rover experience is well worth doing, definitely recommend it
Best off road test I’ve ever seen. Every SUV manufacturer should have this test, to satisfy us
You should see what a factory Jeep Rubicon Wrangler can do hahaha
I grew up with Range Rovers and that's something to say because I'm German.
Our first was the original 2dr which took a lot of convincing behalf of a 12 year old. The next was the 4dr manual followed by the 4dr automatic. Both were brilliant. The manual was unreal doing 180km/h easily while consumption could be as low as 12l/100km. The final Vogue was not quite what it promised.
that looks amazing, incredible vehicle
Thanks for sharing, I will pick-up my byron blue L405 in 2 weeks!

Guys That Drive what year is the car?
It was a 15' plate, so 2015 but potentially 2016 spec if there was a facelift that year?
Guys That Drive Thanks for replying, I'll have look in to it :)
And they did all this on low profile city tyres too? Really AMAZING truth is everybody loves a range rover but for ONE thing PRICE
The price and the horrendous service charges when it goes wrong which it will the dealers who take 3 months to get back to you the never ending stress oh in the end you will sell it for scrap see range rover complaints for proof great truck when its working which it rarely does where you gonna get the parts in the outback deep in the jungle no diagnostics equipment out there
@@christophermatthias3327 Just take a Land Cruiser, it will also tow Land Rover to garage if it breaks down :)
Christopher Matthias ever owned one yourself or did you get it from other poor people’s comments?
@@christophermatthias3327 that's the problem with modern Range Rover, full of electronics made it good just for cities. If you go serious off road adventure in the desert/jungle in a poor country and it breaks down, you're in the shit cause nobody will be able to repair it. Offroad cars should be tough and as reliable as possible, which is simply not possible with all those electronics.
@@bcxw of coz he did😂😂
Just after this video how much did you paid for the service and maintenance?
11:15 sound like a tiger when it's in a good mood (big cat's way of purring)
Very nice, indeed! I wonder how my stock LC200 would do in that corse?
dude lc are the kings when it comes to offroading
I will drive this one day in Olive Green color, so help me God!!
Speak it into existence!
Nice vehicles but how about customer care. I have to wait for 4 months for a spare part of a freelander 2 built in 2011
Cracking video, look forward to seeing what you guys come up with next. Great editing too. Reckon you'd buy one if it came up?
PeterJenkins789 it was mighty impressive, not sure id shell out £150k though! Check the main vid if you haven't already seen it! ruclips.net/video/qAOjqUYECu0/видео.html
The good from airports to otw 😤😤🙏😍🤣🤣
would be interesting to see if it could go back up that 45 angle hill, might need better tires if its slippy though
Best of the best.
it looks right and it's in ITS element
8:12 I'm dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣
After watching this video I decided to buy a Discovery 😂😂
the lr4 behind is just like.... are you done ?
Is that can happen at all land rover cars?
This would be a super fun dirtbike or quad track!
Nice review best luxury car good job.
If I bought this is would be anxious to drive it on the road
My dream car
12:35 OH NO THANK YOU. Good video though cheers.
10:00 that exhaust burbble sounds so good
* 9:55
it seems like the range rover is having a hard time with the weight but it is a range rover it is born to work hard
Guys that drive and take portrait video lol ( I liked this clip in every way ;) Tried this few years ago and it is scary.
Range Rover the best for suv segment and autobiography is massive
What was the noise at 11:15
I have Seen so many Rangies stuck on a flat grassy field after heavy rain when the grass is sodden with water trying to leave venues at racecourse etc and struggling to even make progress , so the moral is buy one if you want to go up a Himilayan Mountain but not if you want to park on a wet grassy field in an overflow carpark scenario at a festival or such .
good test range rovar off_roading love
Hi there, I really enjoyed your video, I am putting together an off road compilation of the L405, and wondered if you would like to be included?
Respect to Land Rover,Range Rover Experience
Nice experiment
Amazing piece of engineering!

Nice review. Could you please tell me the name of the song of the beginning?¿ Lots of people asked but no response from 'guys that drive'...Thanks!!!!
Glad you liked the vid, we did a full review of the car here: ruclips.net/video/YsdZFh90jXQ/видео.html The song is Dyalla - Inquisition

fab what a beast
Oawsam great on off road
Is the Land Rover Experience driver related to Ozzie Osbourne? Because they sound the same!
Both Brummies
please whats song at the beginning
Perfect for the Apocalypse Zombie!
That was fun!!
Ebony 😜😍😍
Despite not many will take their ~$100,000 cars doing this, this is why I love Range Rovers of all luxury SUV in the world. It may not be as fast or nimble as the Cayenne, Bentayga, Levante or Stelvio, but no other luxury SUV (maybe except the LX570 which is a Land Cruiser in drag) can do what a Range can do when mother nature strikes.
LX570 or what we like to call the Barbie version of the Land Cruiser.
acctualy the first gen cayenne was really good at offroad. but not anymore sadly.
Trades46 land cruiser beats this thing no problem, and your u won’t have to lay down tens of thousands on crazy maintenance costs.
@@redpilledpatriot8484 think the difference is what you call today a SUV or an off roader. My old Land Cruiser can do this track with no doubt and has quite some luxury even if it is not as luxurious. however I know one thing I do not need to find a luxury garage in the middle of the dessert or the rainforrest ...
@@fredbrackely how true
What year is it?
Well I do love this car. despite I would not use it for serious off-roading or remote overlanding. The choice of tyres and wheels you can put on it is quite limited unless you want to loose the manufacturers guarantee. I have to say it is great vehicle and it is very capable and Land or Range Rover count to my favourites. However I would not go in a suit into the bush nor would I with this generation of Range Rover. If you have a problem, which can and does happen no one can repair that beast... unless the workshop truck is behind you :-) but a lovely great car
I am crazy about this car. One day this will be mine.
Low profile tyres and expensive alloys for off roading.? Unless money is no object then its an expensive off-road session if you trash your alloys. Question: I presume that you can get standard road wheels and off-road tyres for this machine for playing in the woods with?
On RR the wheel sizes are from 19" I think and up to 22"? and you can specify off road tyres as an option from the factory
My dream car 😘
LOVE
The very same one that Jezza hooned about in for The Grand Tour episode [censored] to [censored]
08:11 WTF 😂😂😂
I would just buy that Discovery camera car instead if only it looked better...since it also just did this exact same drive!!!
Where can I'll be able to get this jungle ride 😁?
This was where it was, you can book on to one of the experiences www.solihull.landroverexperience.co.uk/experiences/index.html
How is that sticky. It’s all hard standing with a bit of water. My Skoda rental car can go round there
Let us know when you try, we’ll come and watch (and laugh)
Nice city car...
The discovery has the same capability as the vogue
look at it go.................
The Range Rover 1
I've seen many Toyota corolla managed to travel like these roads in Bangladesh.
Sacrée auto !
Nice car
Is the LR4 more capable than a Range Rover or are they equals?
Equal
More capable - better approach and departure angles, and actually comes with good bash plates. Plus, you can fit 18" Compomotive wheels on for proper off road tires - RR brakes are too big.
great
34 degree hill isn't deep. Try driving in St. John's . Newfoundland in the winter.
To be fair, it's some novice guy doing it, not an expert. He's probably never drove it before. Less of the war story bs mate.
Best Indian bolero mohindera off road
Looks out of place with those tyres! Bloody done though! Still prefer a defender 😉😉
Bloody done it though! 🙄
Expensive car.. especially in Indonesia..
What the hell is that sound at 11:08 ? lol
its the car applying its brakes automatically, part of the hill descent control
Off roading in a controlled environment
💯range rover
Good
You can't never ever combine to G class that has variety moving from up and down from steep incline.
Great car but very expencive
at 11:40, why does the car tire look like jelly or toothpaste on a rock like that? cant you guys add more air?
Low PSI is generally better for off roading in mud and loose terrain for more 'sag' on the tire leading to more traction, it would also make sense for it to be much more forgiving against obstacles, like imagine punching a REALLY over-inflated balloon, or one that's half deflated, the full one would be easier to pop
This RR looks and feels weaker and more feminine than the older model.Sad that the RR is losing its lustre to appeal to women. It used to be a brand reknown for its off road prowess now its just a feminine city sleeker car
My dream car range rover 😍
Yes.. my dream car is range rover velar🥰
i can buy u one if you give one good why you want it so baaaaaaad
@@duncanocharo5171 if you have money then buy it for me

Ok it's good, it's impressive but it's very expensive! For a lot cheaper, do you think that a good pick up or even a small Suzuki Jimmy .... on the same course can do less well? I highly doubt it !
gwadaflat lots of 4x4s will be able to do this off-road course, no doubt about that. There’s very few that will be able to do it as well and provide the same level of luxury, on-road pace and epic V8 soundtrack! Watch our full review of it to understand what this car is all about
Guys That Drive Do not worry, I know all that and understand all that! I needed to find something to say in front of the excellence of the Range Rover! I am and have always been a fan of Range Rover since the beginning! The Range Rover at my age, to a year close (I'm 1969) 😉 ! The history of the Range Rover is very similar to the BMW R1200GS motorcycle (story that started with the R80GS model)! Always copied, never equaled! 😜👍🏽
@@GuysThatDrive in your dreams you call that luxury when the car is actually shacking people in all directions??!! wtf!!! my subaru can do that too
What is the name of song at the begining 😍??
will find the name
Dyalla - Inquisition
Why the constant music. Music more important than the cars and talking?
Ooooh it hurts to watch this
Andrea Downing i love you
Okay I love Land Rover and I own one but I live in the American southwest where there are tons of Jeep Rubicon Wranglers and off-road they are the champions. To me it makes no sense that Land Rover actually has places like this but still releases their vehicles with large wheels and low profile tires even if you get a more aggressive tire but it's still pretty low profile and you can tear it down and make it much longer when doing so. It's almost like Land Rover has two sides the design team and then the people who work for them and look at them like they are still all old-school Defenders and they're not. Yeah they can get through some things but go put a new Defender head-to-head with a Jeep Rubicon Wrangler on some real actual tough trails. The defender will lift the suspension all the way up high until it is super stiff and then it will shake and vibrates while the traction control limited because it is hitting too many large rocks at once and then the Jeep disconnect factory sway bars at the push of a button with front and rear lockers and it just walks right over. And the defender only has the ground clearance of the Jeep when the defender is fully aired up all the way which means the Jeep still has negative suspension travel while the Land Rover is fully extended and has no more negative travel. But all these words if they don't convince you although they describe something convincing can be understood by watching videos of them off-road together and the Land Rover cannot do what the Rubicon Wrangler easily does
That's why Ratan Tata is a genious
Low profile tires , I don’t know
Alex Kostenyuk still handled the off-roading well though
Give it to Australians to test its off-roading abilities. I wouldn't spend a penny on these faithless Rovers ever.
👍👍👍👍👍
All that on those skinny tyres????
10:00 air suspension squeaking lol
Delicate suspension bits
