- RACE CAR BATTLE - Tesla Plaid Race Car vs. Lamborghini Super Trofeo Race Car vs. McLaren Race Car.
On Board video of Blake Fuller taking David Havasi of Clean Technica for a thrill ride around Daytona Speedway at a Chin Track Days Event.
This Tesla Plaid is the car that Blake Fuller drove to win at Mt. Washington Hill Climb and has both Electric Vehicle Records at that historic Race.
I wanna see more videos and details of these Plaid thanks that is Awesome
would have passed them but stuck at 164 limiter. track mode with 175 limiter will have you passing the mclaren!
Just change the driver in the McLaren and it wont happen 😅 EV’s is only "good" for dragracing.
The sound of the Lamborghini made the video more exciting.
The best part of the PLAID is it gives you a front row seat to the soundtrack of other cars on track :)
Track mode would have let you do 175!
171.9 GPS. Lol. I love the Plaid.
Blake it was nice speaking with you today at sebring
How does the battery charge hold up in a race environment?
From a Battery / Thermal perspective - The PLAID was VERY impressive. If you'd like me to do more in depth overviews, let me know... and please subscribe:)
@@blakef Be interesting to see the prototype 200kw battery from ruclips.net/video/fWj2YCdoc9A/видео.html&ab_channel=OurNextEnergy%28ONE%29
Performance wise? The newer Tesla's hold up GREAT.
Charge wise? Not so great.
Best compared to a dedicated track car where it be refueled every made 20-30 minutes of racing I believe.
But for the performance it's really not a bad deal! Think that with 1,000hp you're not exactly getting good fuel economy in any car. :)
Look like this plad is missing track mode update max speed was 163mph
No track mode ?
I was wondering the same thing. The speedometer in the Plaid was pretty much stuck at 164 mph. What gives?
This video was shot before Track Mode and top speed increase was released for Plaid, hence the top speed being capped at 164mph.
@@daveydo2000 And the car was purchased with an advertised top speed of 200mph...Which we ALL look forward to:)
@@blakef .. I’m pretty sure 200mph won’t be possible for those of us that choose not to spend $20k on their ceramic brake package.
I wish the stock Plaid would brake like that. My Plaid has horrendously unsafe stock brakes.
stock brakes are not made for the track, that's why they made the carboceramic 6/4 piston calipers upgrade
Stock brakes are good for road use, even on windy roads.
100-0mph ruclips.net/video/gIN_lpRZyAM/видео.html
some other stock brake stress testing: ruclips.net/video/hQXs9xqJsSE/видео.html
@@matteocomelli9587 You are wrong. My stock breaks overheat after only 3 minutes on a twisty road. You obviously are a know it all and don’t own a Plaid. Get lost.
@@Tothefloor there is a video literally showing you are wrong lol, also vehicle virgins drove it hard on twisty canyon roads and zero problems with the brakes.
The overheating warning is just software, not based on true brake temperature.
Sorry ur wrong
@@matteocomelli9587 the cc one's aren't even available yet. I'm guessing the driver in this one is using some other aftermarket ones.
@@taipoxin you can already buy the cc kit from unplugged performance, or just the rotors/pads from other companies
Supercars really come to life above 120mph and continue to pull to over 200mph+ in some cases. The Tesla would be dropping power where as some supercars build power to redline.
Only stock cars that trap higher than the plaid or mclaren p1 bugatti chiron rimac nevera and all koenigseggs
The plaid drive train would continue a straight power curve all the way to 250 mph. The issue lies in the batteries. The computer limits them. Electric motors coupled together, tri, quad and beyond with teslas 4680s would put those super cars in museums. The days of tesla's dropping power are over.
plaid doesn't drop power, it only has a 10% drop in torque from 1 - 20,000RPM, it just keeps pulling, and these motors are only running at 66% rated power, a bigger battery plaid would pull even harder.
Love it. Like toying with them. Weeeeeh. Wehhhhhhh. And nothing happens.
Where is track mode fam🤣😤
Racing a Tesla is about as exciting as having sex with 10 condoms
It's keeping up with a McLaren and Lambo....wtf r u mumbling about?
@@DescartesRenegade Part of the fun is the vibrations, gear shifting and sounds that come from cars like the Lamborghini. The Tesla is incredibly fast but incredibly emotionless. Its still shocking to me how people can watch this video and not be amazed by the sounds coming from the Lamborghini.
@@Mike-dd8bd Believe it or not, some don't care about sound.... it's the performance/end result that matters most.
I guess I missed the "takedown"🤣🤣
I am wondering why did they change the F@**** YOKE !! Elon ?
