I hate the word game used to deceive. Its EV lap record. there are bunch of other faster production cars and they broke this record with 100% stock, without gutted internals.

S plaid , i guess, with aftermarket steering wheel.
There is has a dashboard, either modelx or models. but will not be model3 and modely, unless modified

Incredible machine. Wanted an AMG but the fun noise somehow loses its appeal when it doesn't come with the matching performance. Bit embarassing to drive a loud screaming car and get beaten by a Tesla. Also, I noticed the Plaid is quite the bargain for a hypercar-killer. Much cheaper than slower AMGs too.

On that last long straight, the speed climbs as quickly as you can say: "80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170" Then time to hit the brakes hard!.
WOW impressive and big congrats! Where do other factory stock cars with track tires match up with this time at Sebring?
Well since that’s a caged car, would be irrelevant to compare a stock car. But a high teen would be compare to a late gen 996 cup.
This is the third fastest production car ever at Sebring, about 4 seconds off of a McLaren P1!

Awesome Drive Blake. ! I ordered a Round Steering wheel from Hannshow. took my plaid to the Track and Yokes is not the best In Performance driving.
The sad thing is I'd never attempt this with a yoke given non variable steering ratio or fixed at street stock. What would be ironic is if Tesla starts offering a round wheel for serious track driving at a substantial markup.

How does this time compare to Gas cars in race trim like this Plaid?
Great question! This Plaid is very equivalent to a stock production vehicle, with the exception of better brakes (see video description for details). Suspension / powertrain are all as delivered. Tires are DOT tires with many track days on them and 1,000s of street miles :) And, while the car is a prepped "race car" the weight of the cage + the installed passenger seat offsets any weight from items removed.
This time is similar to a GT3 with half the power. A GT3 RS would be even faster; it’s amazing how much the weight ruins the cornering. However, a GT3 certainly doesn’t hit 170 on the back straight
Love it! And yet we continue to get Comments like “Teslas are only fast in a straight line” 🤣
Teslas are fast cars and like any other car they can be modified to be fast on a track. However they are far from ideal because of their weight. Even this heavily modified tesla with a more rigid chassis better brakes and stripped for weight struggles to beat cheaper stock or Slightly modified ICE vehicles. If someone invented better batteries that were lighter and lasted longer on the track then electric vehicles would be ideal. There is a lot of tribalism and self identity that comes with wanting "your" car to be the best at everything. Objectively it's just not true but electric vehicles have their place and they will improve over time.

The Yoke only works best for racing if you have - 1 TURN LOCK TO LOCK Elon has acknowledge this - But said too expensive to implement as a separate mode for racetracks..

Can't help noticing that Model 3/Y steering wheel... 😉 Edit: on closer inspection, it's a yoke that's been modified with a round rim, but still...
the round wheel is better for racing than the stock yoke
@@markplott4820 Wrong. A round wheel is better in EVERY WAY than a yoke. The yoke is "cool" (NOT!!!), but extremely impractical. As are the idiotic capacitive buttons and lack of stalks. If I were to trade my 2017 Model S for a new one (WON'T happen!!!), I would do the conversion to Model 3 wheel and stalks.
@@awo1fman - Driving YOKE have been used in RACE cars for DECADES, and Tesla are BASIC stock Race cars. it takes 10 minutes Driving ONE handed with the yoke , however for racing you need two hands.
