for anybody who is fmailiar with these cameras, can they tell me which parts are often the parts what will cause a no power/no turning on situation.. the camera was not dropped or treated roughly it just suddenly stopped working... im willing to do the work and repalce whichever part tends to cause this issue but im not even sure what it could be... any suggestions on how to diagnose
there a small board in the mainboard at the powersupply area..but is too difficult to replace it..i suggest replace the mainboard if you have a budget sir..
I already opened my Panasonic Lumix FT5, cleaned some optical Parts and assembled it succsessful. But the A6000 scares me. I hoped, someday, if the Shutter in my A6000 is broken, I can change it. Perhaps with your Video, I can do nevertheless. Thank you for this Video!!!
Dear Sony, what kind of error message is "Camera error" supposed to be? Could you be any less specific? At least print an error number that can be looked up somewhere.
I attempted the shutter repair (I'm a newbie), disassembled everything, put it back together, but now there is no power when I put the battery 😅 now that i think of it there were some sparkles of electricity when I touched the upper part of the camera with the screwdriver (near the AEL button), might have shortcircuited something. It took me about 4 hours, I guess I'll just sell the camera for parts 🙁
If I attempted this it would remind me of when I was a kid, I would dissemble my toys and assemble them back, then I would look back and I would have more screws left over then what I had to begin with.
Same message on my a6000 … I’m fairly brave, and have “gone deep” inside a bunch of Macs to successfully replace parts most people wouldn’t attempt … but this scares me … SO many very tiny screws, small clearances, and this video is kind of quick to follow … I think shutter issues have plagued Sony cameras for a LONG time. I had a small all-ii-one 15+ years ago. Shutter failed. The thing is, Sony is a great for streaming … DSLR, mirrorless (5000 series on), even 1080pm video cameras like the CX series … just my 2¢

Should I be the whole shutter part or does the problem lie elsewhere?
I am looking to replace the shutter unit on my A6000. But when looking for the part on eBay it doesnt look like the one you removed. It is almost like the arm is missing. Can you help me find the part that needs to be ordered? Thank you
Hey! I have a question. My Sony a6000 is no longer taking photos, it'll shoot 2 to 3 photos every few hours when I turn it back on. whenever I click the shutter nothing happens. I thought it was my lens focus but turns out all my lenses are good, I also tried switching SD cards but they're all good as well. I suspect my shutter went bad or my shutter switch is broken. How do I know for sure if my shutter has gone bad? Is there any way I can send it to you to get it checked out and repaired?
Looks like your shutter is stuck in the closed position. I have the same error but my shutter seems to open and shut like it should. It's a Sony cx6000. Could it still be a shutter issue?

I opened my sony a77 after almost a year and it turned on then alpha logo showed and i had to set location and time zone , everything seems to be fine but after a few seconds it shut down and won't turn on,,i kept my camera without battery in a airtight box with some silica gel,, charged battery fully before using it,but it shut down and wont turning on,,when i turn on switch some red light is popping beside card slot and there is no information in display,,what could be the problem?
it is possible the problem of you camera is the main board ,check first if there a open fuse and short at the power section of the mainboard, if no open fuse or short part i suggest replace the mainboard
i repair the gear by putting a brace around it to strengthen the gear , usually the gear has been broken always i that model , i can not repair if the wormgear and helical gear is the problem , i recommend to replace that parts if that is the problem..
what do you use or do to give the battery power in volts to test the shutter? or how can I repair that also? I followed all the way through and I am now stuck bc i dont know how to test or fix that :/ help pls & thank you D:

Is it soldered to the main board? Is that why it’s difficult

i use a adjustable power supply..just 5volts only when testing the shutter motor
