OMG, I did it! At first, it did not work and I freaked out but I connected one detached flexi thing and it worked! I don't even know how much time and money it saved. Thank you thank you!!
I wonder what's the difference between the Shutter part vs R series shutter. Almost never heard R/S series shutter failure but really common for the 7iii or 7iv. The part for R/S is AFE-3379 while this one is AFE-3360. I wonder if you can just fit the R/S to the normal one
Thank you for this video, it will be very useful, hope you can give me some advice, my a7iv works fine but the curtain gets stuck after a few shots, it remains closed down and the camera gives a warning on screen "camera error turn off the camera and turn ir back on again" if I give the camera a gentle slap from it's bottom the curtain gets released and it allows me to take a few more shots before the issue happens again, so I would like to know if I have to replace only the Shutter unit or also the Shutter motor, I live at México so ordering pieces online might take around a month till i get them, do you recommend me to purchase only the shutter unit or also the motor? thank you in advance
Hi. Thanks for your video. It was very helpful. Earlier today my Sony A7IV suddenly shut down and now it won't turn on (it is flashing a red light). I want to change the main board by myself. Do you think just replacing the main board might solve the problem? Or would it be necessary to do any kind of reprograming due to the serial number registration? Thanks!
Sounds like the main board got bricked somehow, so it's dead. You'll definitely need to switch it out for a new or atleast working one. That would be the easiest solution. I'm planning on making a video on this soon, but yes you're on the right track.
@@HansomsRepairs Cool! I bought another main board and will replace as soon as it arrives. I will come back here to post a reply if it fixed my problem. Thanks!
@@theputtystudio Hi! Yes. I replaced the main board and now it is working. I wanna say thank you to @HamsomsRepais for making those videos. Without it I would not be able to repair my camera. Just a few things to point out... First: Be careful with the flat cables, they are super fragile. Second: Test the viewfinder. Mine wasn't working so I had to open the camera again and make sure the flat cable was connected properly.
@@HansomsRepairs Just came back here to say thank you for your video. Replaced the mainboard for my A7IV and now it is back to life. Can't thank you enough
I actually had these parts in stock so I decided to experiment with this a little. The 3379 does fit in the A7IV housing, but it seems to have more components attached than the 3360. I think I could make it fit and screw back together, but I haven't gone as far as reassembling and testing. The brain of the camera might not be able to communicate with that part, you know? I'm considering making a video about it, though, so keep watch for that!
@@HansomsRepairs I got both: 3360 and 3379 and yes, I did notice the extra parts - mostly the metal piece sticking out a bit more around the top ear. The connectors appear to be the same. I am curious because supposedly the 3360 is rated to 200k whereas the 3379 is supposed to be rated for 500k clicks. I am planning on actually trying it this weekend on Sunday 12PM CST. I think I will be live streaming the process and later I will probably edit that into a video.
Bro, help me please. I connect dummy battery with 100W quick charger, and now mya camera broken. Tell me please, which part is most likely out of order? And approximately how much will the repair cost? I don't have a service center in my city and I'll have to give it to private electronics repair shops

Do you think it would work if one tried to use AFE-3379 unit from A7RIV instead of AFE-3360?

What is the price of the shutter?
About $140
Mind that repair like twice now
My 24mm 1.4 focus motor works
They are pretty much not worth fixing right ? Sony gm
Depends on the cost of the part, but I'd say since the Sony GM 24mm f1.4 is still around $1400 new, yeah it's worth repairing.
