  • Prosecutor Creighton Waters grilled Alex Murdaugh under cross-examination for almost two hours before court ended Thursday. Waters questioned the disgraced lawyer about his family's powerful roots in Hampton County and law enforcement. Murdaugh, who admitted to his financial misdeeds, became irritated with Waters when he started listing all the thefts committed by the disbarred South Carolina attorney against people he trusted.

1▪︎ Why? Because, for one thing, the prosecution hasn't shown any material evidence that Murdaugh killed his wife and son.
2▪︎ You see, unlike you, I understand that these financial crimes are unrelated and have no bearing on whether Murdaugh killed his family.
3▪︎ If the prosecutor had all this evidence that showed Murdaugh was the killer, he wouldn't be wasting his time pursuing financial crimes, which have already been fully pled, proven and _admitted to_ by the defendant.
4▪︎ So why in the world is the prosecutor still pursuing it. He won't even accept the repeated full and complete admission of guilt from the defendant.
5▪︎ The prosecutor has made himself ridiculous by his absurd questioning. (Attorneys understand the financial crime are more prejudicial than probative.)
▪︎ Ironically, the thing you cheered for was an obvious demostrative that he didn't have the goods on Murdaugh.

All those properties being in her name she is aware of some kind of financial negligence If Alec did not murder Maggie Alec paid someone to do it but I'm much more interested in Justice for those innocent people that he took advantage of And paid them very little or nothing at all Maggie and Paul enjoyed a lot of that money and lived off a lot of that money so in some ways What a tangle Web we Weave... The most telling statement I heard Alex Murdaugh say today (in talking about all the unfortunate people he stole money from) was when he said, “did this to them even though I cared about them”. Whoa! At that moment I wondered if his defense lawyers were cringing inside, because that one statement sorta explained everything about AM. I believe he did slaughter his son, then his wife. I’m convinced he is guilty as sin.

I thought this exact same thing when I heard him say that. He is a very vile human being.. but he could have cared very deeply for his wife and son. He probably did. But if he could so easily steal all of that money.. especially from the lady who's daughter was killed, and the guy Dion who they said had very severe head injuries.. he could have very well killed his wife and son. Everyone will make their own opinion but from all that I have heard so far from every testimony.. I truly believe he did murder them. And I hope he rots in prison.

I hope they connect the dots tomorrow. I can see how all of the financial house of cards was beginning to collapse and how that could have been his motive to kill his wife and son (because unlike Buster they probably would have testified against him).

I am now leaning to believing Alex is capable of the murders if this is his perception of solving his own problems before others. Wonder if the jury will see how that carries over to all his actions and evidence with the murders. He said he hurts the ones he loves or cares about, but he did not have enough remorse to stop. That he "cares" but he "did them that way." He also shows how out of touch with reality he is when he doesn't admit lavish lifestyle, or has lack of empathy for seriously maimed or dead clients.

It took 4-5 hours of deliberation to bring back a quilty verdict in a case where it should have been decided in 10 minutes.
