I wish I knew this before. I literally count how many rocks at the starter town even remember where they were but keep crashing into rocks, then in the next day the rocks I crashed into are just gone I thought I was trippin’ or something

It is mercifully easier to dodge than when you encounter it at the map limits where it's insta death. And with tnew DLC, it does tend to appear a lot near the iron rig if you have high panic
Hes alive as a fish you can catch with the name of "Deep Form", i sort of thought of that since it really looks like the aberrated doc face and fins i guess.
You need low sanity, when it reaches red eye, and to make it spawn even faster you can use the horn, but its very rare, i had to go look how to spawn him for a trophy
It's hard to get: 1. need maximum level of insanity 2. swim in large oil slicks 3. It's best to look for Goliath at the end of the DLC, or after completing

leviathan is not an new boss uk ?
Kinda it only used to show up as a wall to stop you from going to far now it shows up at the rig
